Also he shares his company with several other investors as it is still a loss making business. Bill Gates on the other hand and Warren Buffet have billions literally lying around.

As beautiful as they are, comfort and quality of life in a castle isn’t the primary function, as they are designed for defence first and foremost. Modern construction would give more luxury, comfort, functionality, and lower maintenance costs for less. Many people will mistakenly call a non-fortified structure a “castle”, most of the estates on the list aren’t even castles.

The last castle is the real deal. A great price and bargain for what it is and also what you can add on architecturally. More farmhouses and you have a resort where people can come and play with farm animals and eat produce right from the gardens and trees.

There is walled castle about 10miles from me in stafforshire, england for sale for about a £2 million as old as recorded history (700 years+) with an actual moat with a stone bridge which replaced the original drawbridge. These are nice but I wouldn't really call them a castle.

I used to live in a market town in Oxfordshire called Woodstock which was right next door to Blenheim Palace, now I’ve moved to the east of England and am about a 10 minute drive from one of the best preserved Norman Keeps (early 12th century) in the country - it just shows you’re never far from something interesting in England/ other European countries.

I inherited my late father’s castle, he was killed in it by a mustachioed Italian American plumber who was rescuing some princess. It was difficult to sell it though, what with it being full of lava pools, perilous platforms, spikes, stone ghosts trying to squish intruders, turtle soldiers, turtle sorcerers, skeleton turtles that reassemble after being defeated, etc.
