It's been a week, and I'm still waiting for the ones I ordered. I sent an email asking for updates, and haven't gotten anything back yet. I know ToXZiN is super respected in the OG Xbox mod community, so I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt and being patient.

Just a note to anyone following this guide. Not all LPC rebuild boards are the same. Please follow the instructions for your specific board. I ran into this issue. When following 'MrMario' resulted in an error code. Following the pdf included from the seller of the board it booted.

Original xboxs can only handle 2 tbs atmost i believe. You dont need 3 anyway right? They have compressed versions of the game discs for storing on hard drives..

I know this is 3 years later, but just a heads up, the Aladdin XT Plus2 Chip you have linked, on Amazon, is not able to be flashed. I am ordering an external flasher to see if I can force it that way, but I was unable to successfully flash through Hexen.

Awesome i have the 1.5 version bios softmodded and another original un-touched one but from the powersupply conector i think it is older the 1.5 one has atx power conector and the older on has AT i think and from the original Av cable i opened the Xbox conector and got RGB signal witch improved the rezolution and make the screen more sharp. Nice video, Nice modd :)

Ah, man You inspired me to clean and fix the drive in an original Xbox I bought some time ago. And it appears to be version 1.6 with an installed Alladin Advance v1.0-v.1.6 chip. Would be awesome to hear what can be done with a hard modded xbox vs just a softmod.

Biggest benefit is a custom BIOS which allows for more protection and troubleshooting. No need to lock a hard drive to your system, and you can just drop a new one in and nuke it if you wish.

hi mario i was thinking it might be an idea to do a video showing what has to be removed and how to do it on a tsop flashed unit, love your videos only thing missing is what to remove when you tsop a softmod.

Do you have any source for cutting the L frame? iv never seen a mod-chip install that didn't need a D0 wire O.O I want to learn more abort it and what it dose.

Kind of general knowledge from various written tutorials for the 1.6 system. I've had to wire up D0 using this chip in older motherboards, but it just works as shown for a 1.6 system!

Hello. how to remove the limit on the number of characters in the file name? when copying games to hard on ftp, the file has a long name ... change in any way - the game's launcher will not find the file .... here's how to remove the restriction?

What are the benefits of this kind of hard-mod over a soft-mod? I can already do so much.

Use pretty much any type of storage since you don't need to lock a hard drive, so nicer future proofing. If anything ever goes wrong you can just nuke your system storage and start fresh, no need to worry about a EEPROM backup or locking a drive.

Ive watched a lot of your videos, but I need to see if you have something that shows how to replace the disc drive if your old one is fried. Seeing how to put a non original IDE one in and getting it to work on the system. Not sure if you can just dump one in, or if you have to do some tweaking to one to get it to work, thanks!

i get the red glow on the modchip however there is no video on my screen. when i remove the modchip from the pinheader and turn on the system i get the flubber animation however with the modchip properly installed i get nothing. the pinheader and the modchip on it are installed correctly, the D0 point is connected and the chip is set to always on. it is a 1.0 motherboard. does ANYBODY have any advice? this same setup works with an Aladdin advance just fine however i wanted to use my whole hard drive so i upgraded to an Aladdin plus 2 and this happens.

@@MrMario2011 i guess? i have ordered 2 chips from this seller (ill admit to probably killing the first one by placing it on the pinheader incorrectly) and i have had the same problem with both of them. like i said, the exact same installation with an older Aladdin advance yields fruit however im limited to only 124Gb of my 320 Gb drive due to it using an older bios i guess. (i bought this one from greece) thank you for the quick response by the way, not all youtubers do that. :D

The 1.5 has been confirmed these days not to exist, but the terminology is still around. You'll just need to compare motherboards online.

This video helped me find the cause for FRaG: somebody had a modchip on there and ripped one of the traces when removing it... EDIT: damn, now it's error code 06... guess i need to find a modchip....

Well-if the middle chip is socketed then you should be able to just pull it off, soft mods aren’t permanent I don’t think and TSOP you would need to flash the original BIOS back on I would think
