I also wanted some joycon shells, I pre-ordered super mario 3d all stars at gamestop and got the joycon stickers for the pre-order bonus, and dark purple just DOESN'T go with neon red. after replacing I didn't know how to change the display color, so this video helped!

Depends completely on which types you get. The soft plastic ones are pretty great, not the exact same feel mind you, but I've been happy with them.

very helpful, i bought a pink joycon with stripped screws that i just could not get out, eventually gave up and just broke the backplate, moved everything over to my grey shell and it still read as grey so thankyou again for this.

I'm busy trying this right now, and for some reason when I disconnect the right Joy-con to do the left one, it still shows that I'm doing the right one. I connected my previous two (my now old ones that I kinda needed to replace pretty badly...) to my computer before, but I removed them prior to starting this. That and its still showing as neon red instead of the now light blue color.

I keep getting an error 13 every time I try to do a Backup of the SPI, and it prevents me from trying to change to body and buttons. Is there any one else who has experienced this error, and were they able to resolve it?

Yo this is cool. I recently got the OLED with white joy cons and i plan on collecting every solid colored joy con(no design). Do you think itll be worth getting extra joy cons to make each pair one solid color, like instead of purple(left)/orange(right), they will be one color for each pair?

I believe that sliding animation color is based on the color coded to the Joy-Con. So if you're asking if you can make it a different color than what we set here? I don't believe so.
