It's an awesome game, currently halfway through NG+. Aside from all the great things you mentioned, a big part for me as someone with some familiarity with Japanese culture and experience living there, the stage designs are amazing. Most of the stages are actual existing places in Japan, and exploring them in game while seeing the twists the devs put into them is exciting. One of my favorite being Byodo-in, a famous temple near Kyoto I visited several times. The way they designed that stage is just breathtaking. Totally agree on the set part -1 accessory. I am one of the lucky ones and got it very early into NG+ with minimum grinding, and honestly I think that effect is a great one for more enjoyable endgame builds, but it should probably be changed to a super rare but reforge-able ability rather than being limited to that one item, which really kills the variety of accessories in builds.

I Love the Depth Of The Weapon customization in Nioh 1 I can't wait to Get Nioh 2

Its even more customization but with less breaking. They changed what abilities conflict with each other so you cant atack multiple flat damage bonuses on the same wep anymore. However, you can now permanently add new skills onto weapons and reroll each individual one as much as you like. So you can have a weapon with the maximum amount of effects possible and each one chosen by you. The potential for builds is definitly still there and if anything might be bigger than nioh 1 was at launch. We will need to see what comes with dlc for a final verdict

You should go back. It's about changing your mindset. Be patient. Don't go into a fight expecting to beat the boss. Go in expecting to Learn. When you've learned enough, you'll beat the bosses naturally. Sekiro is all about timing of parrying though.

I just platinumed yesterday myself. I fully get all the "its nioh 1.5" complaints but I loved the first game so to me it was just more for me to love. There are definitely things that need fixing and adjusting and the story was a jumbled mess but I like how it ended and tied into the original and am looking forward to where they go with the dlc. Hoping for more new weapon types as the ones they added here are great additions.

Before the release of Nioh series I was thinking the same. But through Nioh I see the current Team Ninja has the talents to make fun, challenging but fair ARPGs. I really hope they can also make good use of the talents and work on NG series. For me Nioh and Nioh2 are great ARPGs that I could play for years so I'm good if their next project isnt an RPG. Now I just really want to see what would happen if they work on a NG title like NG2 where combat is the absolutely focus of the whole experience. No exploration, no platforming, no inventory management, just pure action. I'm don't mind if it's short, as long as it's good old fun challenging and better if they let me select chapter freely like Nioh and balance enemy explosive kunai

Honestly it really is a nioh 2. Bc they changed a good amount of the combat and systems in place to give a lot of quality of life improvements (saving builds, equipment sets and streamlined blacksmithing) as well as tweaking combat to deal with the broken living weapon while still having a powerful option. It's a very solid evolution in systems that needed to be tweaked making it a solid sequel

Souls Vets going into Nioh thinking it's like Dark Souls, then failing. Now this isn't a dig at you, its just really common theme is all. Souls Vets like to constantly dodge roll everything, that's pretty much the first mistake. In Nioh blocking is viable, for nearly everything. I recently watched a review of Nioh 1 done by a Souls pro, and watching him do Hino-Enma was kinda hilarious. Constantly dodge rolling the paralyzing wave attacks instead of just holding down the run button and going either left, or right. Nioh isn't Dark Souls, Dark Souls isn't Nioh. Once I realized this the game really opened up for me. I suggest you give another go.

Raven Tengu was complete busted and broken in Nioh 1, it was ridiculously overpowered and needed to be toned down. High damage, high speed, high range, projectiles, it has attacks that protects it from all sides, no weak spots, it needed this. Tengu had zero weaknesses. In my opinion though, Magatsu has more moves in this game compared to Nioh 1 and is harder to take down due to breaking his back not being an instant down. In nioh 1 they were bitches once you figured out there weak spot.

However they nerfed the set bonuses as well. Now we can't stack 5 types of increase attack, only one. LLCOOLCPLAYS it was kicking my ass for the first 6-8 hours, my dark souls skills didn’t translate ha. What I learned is it just takes patience to build the muscle memory and know the enemy move sets as well as your own. If you picked the bird as your spirit in the beginning it’s counter burst is like a free dodge with a lot of I-frames that will save you from death. I mapped it to the x button that way it shares the same button as my dodge. Just take your time and also when you get a bow, snipe enemies from far away, the less enemies the less chance for you to get surrounded and die. When it comes to bosses you just have to learn their attack patterns and try to avoid damage and know when to get your hits in safely.

Nioh 2 is great tho but... There Are many flaws with it too, that needs to be changed 1. The stats The general stats we get on gear sux ass, No matter How we switch it up it will never give a big impact, except for 1 stat that is called attack bonus(constitution) this one is usedø for spear n is essentiel, because No other stats matter cuz they will never give the same attack power 2. The Co op The co op is bullshit they got more health yes... But they definetely also hit alot more with certain attacks and they Co op life bar is also BS, we dont get rewarded enough to have a mechanic that instantly fails the mission, ill get enough amrita, gold and gear when i do it by myself and its on a sorter time, so definetely not worth it, unless if you wanna play with a friend xD 3. builds Builds is shit, the reset book Costs more n more everytimeni we purchase Them, so the game is not made to keep switching build sadly. Overall i love it, but they definetely need to look into these things, and getting 2% high stance attack is not what i wanna see xD actually... when i think about it, most of the gear sets dont do shit either 🤣 with the weak stats xP

compared to nioh 1 it doesent matter( atm peeps Are mostly abusing the - attack bonus(amrita gained) So you can already see there, that the stats in general dont do jizz compared to (Attack bonus) , and yes we can go some elemental stats so we can buff our attack power when we apply those certain elements on the target, but other than that its reeeal baad and Saying i dont know How to build a character is kinda overboard, i properly know How to make one more than you My friend🤣 Im not hating on the game tho, im passionately saying that i personaly think these things need to be adressed to give our build a bigger impact

The story was dogshit man, I think most would agree. I don't think they improved on the first game enough, constant loot is just a real pain to sort through . The main and side missions are mostly shit and ng+ adds nothing new apart from better gear obviously, also there's no end game.
