Some people hate on the Kusarigama and just really have no idea how good that weapon is, I haven’t played Nioh 2 yet but the original Nioh I did a build similar to this, it works great and I’m actually still using the build and playing some of the extra dlc, can’t wait to play this game tho, good video bro 💯

Trinity Kusarigama has been god-tier since the first game. Living weapon with Kusarigama was borderline broken and easily the best weapon, idk where you heard someone say anything bad about Kusarigama but I assure you it’s OP.

Right?! Kusarigama in high stance fucking melts everyone’s Ki but your own. Plus it’s fast enough to essentially stun lock a lot of Yokai once you stripped them of all their Ki. Throw in a status effect tailsman like poison or fire or paralysis and good lord does it spank everything that gets in your way. The attack speed of High Stance is Perfect for hit and run tactics and applying status effects and debuffs.

I don't know if anybody else commented on this, if so, sorry to repeat it. However, VERY IMPORTANT... in the video, he says "don't worry about the shifting tree, Cuz we won't be shifting much", regardless of shifting, that tree is essential to every build. There are great passives in there to boost various resistances and perfomance in general; but MOST IMPORTANTLY, there are great abilities that you can add to your active skills. For instance, arcana of serpents puts poison on whatever skill you choose from skill customization menu. And there's many other good ones too. I'd say the Shiftling tree is as important as ninjutsu, and more important than the kusa tree

Kunai scales with thrust damage. So having a sword or spear equipped with “rule of thrusting” skills will increase your Kunai damage noticeably.

@@mysticmase You can always have it in the secondary slot and switch to it before throwing. I have done a few builds like that where the secondary weapon had bonuses for something I was doing. Pretty good if you like the Flux play style.

I would recommend taking the phantom type guardian spirit at the beginning of the game instead of the feral. Feral is awesome no doubt, but the first phantom spirit guardian adds a nice bonus to Anima from ranged hits on enemies, meaning when you throw your ninja items at enemies you gain anima, this is supremely important as you are going to need anima to curst counter and to throw out your yokai abilities. I am running this build on my second character and have had great success running all Fuma Ninja gear tempered with ninjustsu power or other relevant stats, phantom spirit, kusirigama/dual swords, snake soul core and YOKI soul core (awesome against human enemies), kunai/shuriken, toss in toxic groundfire if you are facing loads of enemies and can lure them into the trap.

When I have the Kusarigama equipped, I never use any other stance but high stance. That attack speed is just too good to let the Kusarigama’s greatest asset to be wasted on -Mid and -Low stance.

How did i never find this channel especially for nioh 1, on my 5th consecuitve vid lol, i used kusarigama in nioh 1 and even tho i wanna use hatchets ill wait till u review that, till then this guide is maddd helpful. your right ive been fighting ninja wrong lol, we gotta be "bitches" that deal high damage from a distance loool, still dont understand this soul core or crafting mechanism but so far so good.

Check out "Fightincowboy" he is one of the best at making build guides, and explaining mechanics for newer players to the game. Even if u played the first one, there's a lot to learn. He's got a guide specifically on soul cores and crafting

It took me a while to get it too, I didn't play the first game much, only got it like a week before nioh 2 came out lol. His beginner guide helped me, along with the other ones I mentioned. They're made for people just starting, not for late game. Just FYI

Is this build at all viable with medium armor? I know it's a trade off but I hate feeling so fragile and completely useless trying to block regardless of what build I'm using.

You can use Medium Armor, you just won't be as fast.

It's viable, just not as effective at what ninjas do: avoiding enemies, and strike from afar. If you use heavier armor, go heavy. The tiny bit of defense you gain from medium armor, isn't really worth the trade in mobility, until you get the better medium sets later on. Best thing to do IMO, is either go farming for soul cores to boost your shiftling level, while mastering your dodge skills, or put more points into constitution so you can take more hits. This build leaves little room for error on taking hits, but it's the best training to learn how to not take hits, while continuously building your long range capabilities

Just up your dex to 30 to get the full ninjutsu capacity then you should be able to get 10 kunais, 10 poison shurikens and anything else you want :) Having untouched ninjutsu on your set will also help you a lot since everytime you throw something, you will have chances to not consume it

You can also occasionally find jutsu items in the kodama bazaar, and those will be in addition to what you have prepared. (Though they can only be used in that mission) Arrows, and bullets can be bought there as well. And there are also passives which increase your capacity for carrying arrows/ bullets, and for increasing your ninjutsu capacity. Later on, you can get frugality, which gives u a chance to recover ammo from defeated enemies, if they were killed with a headshot

I'm lvl 68 and so far, the build is getting stronger and stronger since your Kusarigama will annihilate every single foe under poison :D Try to get a purity Kusa since it'll shit on Yokais Ki even faster :P And just adding a lil' thing : sometimes bosses infos will tell you that they're resistant to poison but in fact, it just means that you'll have to throw 4-5 shurikens rather than 2-3 so those so-called "poison resistant ennemies" aren't a big deal (except the very few ones who're immunise)

I’m hoping this build or a Kusarigama/Ninjutsu build works good for Yatsu-no-Kami, I’m on that damn snake’s level right now, just got to him, I have mainly purple Shinobi 🥷 gear that I farmed forever from revenants before I fought Enenra. I also dropped a purple imbued corruption spear and sacrificed it for that little purple demon thing and he dropped a purple bamboo Kusarigama imbued with purity (got lucky there) but I put a lot of my levels into Heart to build up my Ki. Think I’m at 15 Heart, 15 Skill, and about 13 Dex. I’m going to put more into Dex now tho and build up my Ninjutsu

Worth nothing, even now, that when you unlock your first node in Ninja, grab the Iga Bombs first. Reason being, you level up Ninjutsu through usage but also damage. Find a Shrine with an enemy nearby, and just chuck the bombs as them, kill them, rest at the shrine to reset the enemy, rinse and repeat. You can get 10 skill points in Ninjustu in less than 30 minutes allowing you to max out Shuriken, Kunai, get backstab, gallnut broth, and everything else available at the start.

Never played Nioh 1, just Sekiro and Dark Souls and I must admit Nioh 2 is damn hard.. Sometimes frustrating, but seems to be funny when progressing further... 1 question please: What about the second weapon? Doesn't matter which one since you are going to use Kusa 100 percent? :-O

@@mostvaluedcomodity09 nah, you don't have to level skill. Later on, you'll get the ability to make your weapon scale the way you want (i.e A+ in dex). So that tiny bit you get in skill isn't that important, unless you're min/maxing right from the start. I'm actually about to re-spec to take my points in skill, and move them to courage. Even with 13 courage on lvl 60, I can still own with the tonfas. Until you get to end game and DoTS, the little bit of secondary scaling isn't that important overall, use what you want to use. It's more fun that way lol

3rd main mission (Viper Sanctuary) you've good chances to get Ninja Fuma set here and the random loot will scale on your actual level so it's perfect ^^ Even tho, I suggest you to forge your own purple set since it's cheap and you've a better control on the abilities ;)

Yes, it's viable all the way through dream of the strong. And it will be viable for dream of the demon, dream of the wise, and dream of the Nioh; when those difficulties are added. If you're unfamiliar, that's basically just Ng+ and ++, etc. Ninja build is viable for the whole game. I'd suggest adding elemental damage to try to build confuse. Also, be sure to build up your Shiftling tree above all but ninjutsu; there, you can get abilities that you can customize to your active skills. If you stay with poison, arcana of serpents will add poison to whichever skills you choose. This build only gets BETTER, the further you go

You could also invest in paralysis or confusion. There are a couple accessories that boost both the accumulation of paralysis, and damage done to paralyzed enemies. I've even proced it on a few bosses lol. But almost every yokai enemy is susceptible to paralysis; and with a small investment in either onmoyo, or crafting 2 different elements onto 2 different weapons (i.e water on kusa, lightning on dual swords), you can easily build up confusion as well. But outside of the snakes, and some bosses, poison works on most everything.

cool vid but I can't stand when people mispronounce (easy) Japanese words like "Jutsu"... it's not "JUT" and then "SU" it's "JU" [pronounced like "Jew" in "JEWish"] and "TSU" [like the "tsu" from TSUnami"].... unbelievable cringe EVERY time u mispronounce such an easy word that literally comes up in almost EVERY japanese based game...
