I have a slightly different opinion of how Shamrock will contribute to the story. I think Shamrock is Oda's answer to a question he's probably asked himself a few times now - "How do I let Mihawk beat Shanks, but not let Shanks lose" - voila, Evil Shanks. I think Shamrock has been introduced to give Mihawk a serious fight before Zoro defeats him and takes his title, and I think it's a moment of Oda having his cake and eating it too. Mihawk vs Shanks is possibly one of the most engaging pieces of background information in One Piece, and is the subject of MASSIVE debates for years. But before Mihawk vs Shamrock happens, I think Luffy vs Shamrock has to happen first, and Luffy has to be defeated. In a single move Oda is able to hype up Shamrock, Shanks, Mihawk, and Garling all at the same time, while also showing us how much Luffy still needs to improve before he is able to truly count as one of the strongest in history. I believe it will play out with Shamrock defeating Luffy, but then when he's about to get jumped by some combination of the Straw Hats, Loki, the Giants, THAT MAN, or possibly even Shanks - he escapes by teleporting back to Marijoa (or wherever he came from), as he realizes his goal of conquering Elbaf is unachievable.

I think its more likely that Garling fights dragon and Shamrock fights Luffy. Mainly because the mystery around Shanks could be fully revealed if he dies in his fight with Blackbear. It would be Oda's chance to do a fully fleshed out fight that's not directly involved with the SH, we could get the flashback from how he got the scar, BB fighting technique, and much more. This will ultimately give the sense of overwhelming power that BB desperately needs at this point considering everything we've seen Luffy do.

I think it's most likely that Shamrock is the main antagonist of this arc and therefore fight Luffy. That's because I don't think Loki is eavil and will be the antagonist, maybe he'll even fight Gunko and help the straw hats. Unless maybe Garling or Blackbeard come to Elbaph, there's no other possible antagonist. When I read the story I’ve never thought that Big Mom and Kaido have to be weaker or stronger than other characters that have shown similar feeds, because for me it was implied that a volcano eruption was necessary to finish them off. But nonetheless great video.

The eruption didnt take kaido down lol, it was just a natural reaction from earth after luffy sent kaido to the core of the island, the narrator informa us that earthquakes followed the punch.

There is 0 Chance where Shamrock is stronger than Kaido, Kaido's whole narrative was being the strongest, introducing a character (who in logic, should be considerably weaker than Shanks) this late into the game without proper setup should not have the luxury of being above Kaido in strength, after his portrayal, feats and narrative that was pushed.

There is gonna be several Characters in One Piece, there are gonna be stronger than Kaido besides ( Joyboy, IMU, Roger, Whitebeard or Garp ). Prepare for that !

@@f.n8581 Not opposed to that, but setup has to be there alongside a narrative position; Shamrock doesn't have that, and his new power (revealed in chapter1138) further solidified it. A precedented rule of OP is that in order for your haki to bloom, you'd have to be in the midst of an extreme battle, and there are no statements/feats that show us Shamrock being in a duel relative to Mihawk vs Shanks for him to be compared to Shanks. All this Shamrock argument comes from a headcanon point of view :)

Right now, I think Luffy fights Shamrock, loses, and then masters haki with Shanks' help. I think Garling is above all of them in power, and is only weaker than Imu and Dragon. And I'm guessing that Garling will eventually lose to Dragon in final saga.
