Mongolian death wurm, Nidhogg the dread bitter, the man eating worm of lambdon .... the dune worm isnt the only modern depection either there were tremors, like like from the zelda series, and those creepy worm things from the pit scene in kong skull island. Dune didn't make up the concept it is thousands of years old and there are literally hundreds of examples of "giant man eating worms" of various types throughout the scattered mythologies and legends of the world. Some of my favorite are the native American mythologies of the worm that carves the canyon.

So ofcourse ju peter's silhouette would also look different. He certainly doesn't care about them but he's also not going for the maximum number of casualties. Same thing here with Ju Peter. He rescued the cipher pol agents AND the seraphim. The seraphim are strong, important, and expensive so the World Government would want to recover them. The agents were probably just a bonus. It's not worth sacrificing the seraphim just to kill some grunts.

We've actually been shown that the gorosei, despite not caring about human lives, don't actively try to cause as many casualties as possible. Saturn ordered the marines to evacuate before the buster call. He could've had them all stay and die but there is no reason to do that. Mars could've killed Lucci for failing but he felt him be. What's telling is that Mars said he can't watch out to avoid stepping on ants, meaning that he's not deliberately trying to kill but his actions may cause collateral damage and he wouldn't care. As for Ju Peter, he rescued cipher pol agents AND the seraphim. The seraphim are too valuable to sacrifice just to kill some grunts.

I'm just noticing this but all the Gorosie has numbers on their pentagram. Saturn's #5 and if y'all go to chapter 1110 Mars #4. The oldest Gorosie is #1 Ju Peter who's been the most quiet of all the Gorosie. I know people think I'm crazy but he's been waiting 800 years for Joy Boy's return to betray Imu because of his loyalty to Lili Nefertiti of Alabasta. Ju Peter is a double agent. I think Oda made him a dune sandworm to show his connection to Alabasta, the only island we've seen full of sand. Ju Peter is selective of when he speaks or usually doesn't say anything at all, he was the only Gorosie showing compassion to the cypher pol agents in Egghead by saving them while the other Gorosie didn't care about them at all, not even Rob Lucci and Kaku. Ju Peter was the only Gorosie member who didn't talk or have a thought bubble in Egghead. When Shanks or (Shanks twin brother) went to speak to the Gorosie, Ju Peter was the only Gorosie member with his back turned when he entered the room. When we first see Imu on the throne, Ju Peter is the first one to speak, Ju Peter is the one who had the most knowledge of the Nika Fruit, Ju Peter was the first one to notice Sabo when he attacked them and Imu, Ju Peter was the only Gorosie sweating seeing Garling. Y'all don't have to believe but Oda is constantly showing Ju Peter as the odd one out in settle ways.

Lost me at the Dune thing. Oda pulls from countless religious and mythos across the entire world. The Mongolian Death Worm was first speculated in the 1920s. And yes, it specifically says "Sandworm" but MDWs usually reside in sand. Aside from that last desperate grasp, I agree that if there were a traitor, it would probably be Ju Peter.

It’s also pretty interesting that his name is St. Shepherd Ju Peter. Shepherds, in Christianity, are specifically symbolizes protectiveness and kind-heartedness, often being the ones to throw themselves in danger’s way to protect their flock. We know Oda loves his religious references and it’s possible that this is a clue to his actual personality

Why are they so adamant about a Gorosei betraying? And for what reason?
@amadhatter32804 ай бұрын
There's a few other clues as to why Ju Peter will turn on Imu: 1) His name: St. Shepard Ju Peter or St. Peter 1 of the 12 Apostles & the first pope (the leader of Christian world of humans not gods), Jesus called himself Son of Man to show he was human like his followers (the Gorosei don't refer to themselves as humans so another hint St. Ju Peter doesn't feel the same way). St. Peter is also said to be the "Keeper of the Gates of Heaven" letting humans into God's land. 2) His title of God of Agriculture: Agriculture is about growing something small into something of value, compare to the other Gorosei Money, Power, Land & Science its a lot more about helping humans then the other 4. 3) His Sandworm devil fruit could tie into Alabasta or a hint since Alabasta were the only one of the 20 families that didn't go to Mariejois, maybe a hint he's more aligned with humans like the Nefertari family.

I don't understand how morj missed that the Shark was not created by vegapunk but biologically altered a regular ass shark. Stussy is a clone of a person that exists so she is in her core like the other but makes her own experiences and can change based on that. The satellites are also not new creations but traits of Vegapunk himself that get the chance to develop without the other traits and can become something unique. So in other words IF imu created the gorosei himself without altering existing people then this videos premise is not applying at all...

I can see Ju Peter's worm form being inspired by Dune, but I very much doubt watching the movie gave him the idea. Dune has been around since the 60s it inspired a lot of science fiction. Star Wars took direct influence from Dune.

Sorry Morj, but you are wrong with the sandworm origin. Dune's sandworms are iconic but Oda got the inspiration for Ju Peter's power from cryptid, Mongolian Death Worm. The Mongolian Death Worm is a mythical creature that is said to exist.

@formerctgovernordannelmall14524 ай бұрын
I know i already said this in another person's thread last time you mentioned this idea, but I really struggle with the idea of Ju Peter being a traitor specifically because of the role he'd NEED to have in the Heavenly Tribute as Godhead of Agriculture. From that alone Ju Peter would be responsible for the lion share of starvation, death, and suffering in the One Piece world. Hed need to rebel for pretty selfish reasons (like a lot of people theorize Doflamingo would) if he hasnt just been secretly hiding a conscience beneath a stone cold glare this whole time
@ReiseLukas4 ай бұрын
Remember that Dragon is cutting off trade routes to Mariejois? Ju Peter would be a perfect inside man to help Dragon starve out the Celestial Dragons from the Red Line
@formerctgovernordannelmall14524 ай бұрын
@@ReiseLukas fair point, it's not like Ju Peter could just immediately stop the Tribute without giving away the game. But he's certainly still been complicit in a way even beyond how Vegapunk has been complicit in the WG's crimes, (and that complicity was something which Vegapunk fully acknowledged was a wrongdoing and moral failure on his part), so if Vegapunk was guilty of THAT much then Ju Peter would still be culpable in a very drastic way regardless of whether he started cooperating with Dragon covertly after hundreds of years of willing inaction. Like, the mere existence of the Royal Tribute is the single hugest driving factor for why anybody supports the Revolutionary Army in the first place. Same as in real life, common everyday people generally don't risk their lives to go upend their local government unless they're starving and can't feed their families. Especially like in pre-Revolution France, whose decadent Royal government was one of the biggest inspirations of the Celestial Dragons' culture. I'm really not sure what his motivation could possibly be if he's the traitor and this theory ends up being true. I really hope he isn't just secretly a good guy. It would be wildly inconsistent, and I trust Oda not to just heel turn humanize somebody on that level of evil. Unless Ju Peter has only been in this position for a VERY brief period of time and there was somebody else there until a few years ago who really put all these brutally evil institutions into place and Ju Peter was just kind of saddled with it

This is the first time I have blatantly disagreed with Morj. That silhouette is clearly meant to be what he ended up being, a worm. I don't think Oda is the type of writer to watch a movie and then immediately decide to use a design from it for a chapter that is literally days away, especially for a long term character like Ju-Peter. Everything else said in the video, I can see it. Nonetheless, enjoyed the video as always.

At 16 mins non of the points make sense. We see a worm silhouette, you say it doesnt look like a worm and claim its from dune. He hasnt achieved a thing? And what has Saturn achieved? Peter ate Luffy and the giants saved him also he used humans and buildings like trash and puked then out to attack thr strawhats. We don't see him express hate. Dont you think the other gorosei would know since we know that they communicate telepathically. Sorry but thats another L
@milesyelton99274 ай бұрын
That is assuming that the goosei don’t want to be serving imu. By your logic one of the strawhats would also betray luffy, but we know that won’t happen because they genuinely want to serve and help luffy. The same could be possible for the gorosei.
@formerctgovernordannelmall14524 ай бұрын
While I'm also hesitant in believing a gorosei will ABSOLUTELY betray Imu, I don't think Morj's logic would imply a Straw Hat traitor, as all the examples he gave that set the precedent for that pattern were in the subordinates of the villains whose central character trait is their god complex or their position of godliness over their subjects

the sandworm point is better when you think about it being written in japanese in katakana (due to it being a foreign word) which makes his zoan form different in name from all other gorosei, it is also the only zoan among the gorosei that isnt a demon but a sacred being. Another point would be the fact he is named "Shepherd" and the "ju" part of his name uses a symbol that looks like a cross, which i would say is a clear reference to jesus, someone known for a sacrifice for humanity, so i think ju peter will sacrifice himself for the good guys.

Okay, so these are interesting ideas and fun to think about, but the Dune thing was ridiculous. You do realise that Dune is one of the most influential sci-fi stories, right? Oda is very well-read (much like Miura was), and if you are right about Dune being an influence, then he probably read the book. Another point: the four major Gorosei forms are based on Japanese folklore, but Jupiter's is not. That would have been a stronger argument than the Dune one.
