Hello Mr & Mrs 2Wheeler...I have the same vest and purchased it for my Alps trip this year. Didn't get a chance to use it because I didn't get my gear until 3 weeks after I returned home LOL. But 4 to 6 hours with the jackets on is good to know. Thanks for sharing.

Wow, that's a long delay. That sucks. But yeah, with a jacket over it, we got 4 to 5 hours. Keep in mind towards the end it's not as effective, but can still be felt.

6:30 - had to stop...you are correct...no jacket - an hour or two...jacket - don't know. 5 - 6 hours - pushing it. I stop at gas stops and fill my ziplock bag with cold water and rejuvenate the vest. nice video...

I purchased mines from Amazon. It’s pretty good, usually I spray myself with water and keep a sprayer bottle with me, I live in vegas so it gets hot. But I always soak it then just throw it in the fridge if I know I’ll be riding in the morning or I just soak it before a ride under my jacket and be golden. I always rewet it in the bathroom before leaving anywhere. Lol great $30 bucks spent

@@normie5928 some times I squeeze some water out or I say f it and just throw it on soaking wet. Like I said I’m in vegas it’s really dry here if it’s a 115 degree day all that wetness in a 20-30 min ride would be not as wet but for sure be dryer. Lol

Thanks Mike, I used 2 different brand cooling vests from 3 years ago and used same method and they both lasted 20 minutes and I was drenched. Going to give this one a shot the tec might have got better a 90 degree day is a cold day for me so any thing to keep you cool is great. Can't wait for the next adventure of your trip. 👍😈

I think a major difference in whether they work or not is the humidity. Like evaporative coolers here in Florida, the kind you soak and wear, aren't very good. Out west should be a different story.

Humidity for sure plays a factor. Although, even here is South Florida and going through GA and SC, the cooling vests still did help keep us cooler.

Sound fantastic. Sir at what temperature that you have tried this jacket? I am ridding PA 1250 and you know this engine is hot as hell and I truly need some thing like this which I am searching. Thanks and subscribed.

We used the cooling vests on our 2 week, east Coast USA trip last summer. The temperatures were in the 90s fahrenheit with heat index as high as 117f. The vests seem to work better in drier conditions, but also worked well in high humidity. Wetting them with cold water, and keeping them in the refrigerator, or a cooler with ice overnight, really helped make them even colder. Thanks for watching and subscribing. Ride safe 😄

How wet does it make you? Soaked for a while until it dries?

Hi Eric, the process is you soak it well for a few minutes, then ring out the excess water. It does make you damp at first (which is actually refreshing) then it evaporates and the vest does it's thing. Very happy with it. Thanks for dropping in 👍

I have to wear a welding shirt on top will that work? So t shirt vest and then welding shirt.

Sorry I can’t answer that as I am not familiar with welding shirts. What I can say is that the vest needs some ventilation to properly cool you off. So if there is ventilation in the welding shirt and there is wind, it should work. Hope that helps.

Yes you do. You can leave it wet, but it will get all you clothes wet as well. The company recommends wringing it out. It still absorbs plenty of water to cool you off.

Can't believe it would work on your back under a jacket in high humidity. Soak multiple t-shirts would be about the same. Would be good in low humidity. Just what seems logical. You have used it I have not and will pass on it.

It would work better in low humidity, but on a 2 week tour from Florida to Maine it worked well enough for us to keep them. And we rode through triple digit temps. We're both real glad we had them. Thanks for the comment 🙂
