This guy is so ignorant. I know it’s deliberate but it’s really not funny. I am from Hong Kong so I know he is trying to imitate a low-brow humour style popularised by Stephen chow. Maybe funny in the 1980s but not anymore . If this is what asian comedians do in the West I hang my head in shame.
@boobella8994 жыл бұрын
@@lepetitchat123 I completely agree. Horribly unfunny. It's like when asian-american viners used to joke about eating rice and doing math in a stereotypical accent. @JT295013 жыл бұрын
She didn't really do anything embarrassing though, all the people acting as if India isn't part of Asia are the embarrassing ones.. I do agree that her method is not authentic for proper, Chinese egg fried rice, because that should be done in the typical Chinese style with absorption method or a rice cooker, and put in the fridge overnight. But the people acting like this perfectly normal method of cooking rice that is used in by millions of Indians and South asians and their diaspora every day was some sort of crime? That to me shows ignorance.. Anyway, it's good they can both have fun.. I just wish some of the comments on her original videos, or other videos of Indians/Brits influenced by Indians cooking rice in this way, were a little less closed minded!

@@JT29501 you mean to tell me that washing cooked rice is standard cooking in some part of asia???? I'm not trying to be rude here but holy shit
@JT295012 жыл бұрын
@@cthpng9437No, the wash at the end is not normal. I'm pretty sure she probably just did it to stop the cooking process as she was about to make fried rice - like how you would never rinse pasta after cooking, except if you were making a pasta salad. But the best way to make fried rice is from the previous days leftovers anyway, as we all know! What is a perfectly normal method in a huge part of Asia and the rest of the world where people from India have settled is the boiling water and strain method that people seem to so object to here. It has advantages and disadvantages (including advantages tailored specifically to the sort and style of rice consumed in India).. and definitely if you are making chinese dishes I'd suggest using the Chinese/East asian way of preparing rice. It's also important to realise that many Indians use the absorption method also! But it's hardly a crime or some sort of unheard of thing to do the other way, I think people who are acting like that are perhaps revealing their ignorance a little.

If Jamie had balls and could laugh at himself he would break the internet with Roger
@animationstation7307 Жыл бұрын
@@martymarl4602 Jamie doesn't owe it to Uncle Roger or his fans to contact Uncle Roger - and just because other people have, doesn't mean he has to. Him contacting Uncle Roger just gets Uncle Roger more fame and viewers and his viewers more entertainment. Unlike this woman he already has a huge following, multiple published books and allot of money and success behind him. It doesn't necessarily give him anything positive to contact Uncle Roger, just Uncle Roger and yourselves. Why would he do this when it'd just be an entire video of Uncle Roger constantly insulting him when this is what he does anyway - ? If someone's picking on you over the internet and you don't want to have to bother to tolerate this - the most mature thing to do is ignore it 🤷🏽♀️ I mean you can say what you want, but there's no real reason why Jamie would feel even remotely compelled to contact him.
@martymarl4602 Жыл бұрын
@@animationstation7307 Thanks for that long essay "Jamie"....you have no idea how cool it would make "you", but clearly "your" ego is too sensitive...I despise when people think money is a true measure of success...humility is, being able to laugh at yourself is much more enduring. But clearly you (and Jamie) are too shallow, superficial and lack the emotional intelligence to understand that...He fucks up Gordon (who is much bigger internationally than Jamie)...but Gordan can take a joke...Jamie is filled with fear....that is the REAL reason he won't do it. Nothing else. Thin skinned.
@ixizn Жыл бұрын
@@animationstation7307 I mean, to be fair a lot of Uncle Roger’s exaggerated jokes do have a lot of valid criticism to them... Jamie has a large reach and he could absolutely be more clear about how it’s not meant to represent the traditional dishes he’s making but it’s simply inspired by and his own style. If he’d responded like Gordon and Hersha did, there could be a meeting there, where Jamie could seem more respectful and Uncle Roger could get dragged himself about what he says about people. A lot of the younger generation definitely know about Uncle Roger and therefor they know about Jamie Oliver through that, so I think Jamie could have lots to gain by responding and having a laugh at himself or whatever.
@animationstation7307 Жыл бұрын
@@ixizn The genuine criticisms are definitely valid and this IS the mistake that Jamie's made, hence there was backlash about him misrepresenting certain countries dishes etc..I can tell that he's making Asian - inspired recipes easier and quicker for a western audience - but even I only know that from other chefs reviewing Uncle Roger's reactions to Jamie Oliver's recipes because they actually know what they're talking about and explain what Jamie is doing, why and whether it would considered a traditional method or ingredient or not. The thing is, both back then and now, it's still really not 'bad' that Jamie Oliver hasn't contacted Uncle Roger - and I don't know why people keep comparing him to other people and saying 'but they did it, so he should too' like why - ? Why does he need to? Why should he have to? Back then I agree, early on he could have just contacted him and been done with it, but he may not have even been aware of Uncle Roger at first - if he's not on KZbin allot and he's busy cooking, looking after his kids and doing stuff with or for his family he may not have even realised Uncle Roger either existed or had started making videos about him for a while. When Jamie doesn't respond and it turns into bullying, Uncle Roger's fans bullying Jamie under his own videos, telling him he's useless at cooking or his job etc. because Uncle Roger said so..and Uncle Roger increasing the amount of insults regardless of whether he was actually reviewing Jamie Oliver or not - this is ALL unnecessary. Whether Jamie responds or not and newsflash: he doesn't have to. He doesn't need Rogers fame to rub off on him and he doesn't HAVE to respond just because everyone else has, doesn't change the fact that it has now turned into internet bullying which ALLOT of his fans take seriously, whether they're meant to be jokes or not. Unlike some of the other people Roger reviews Jamie's had a huge reach for years and doesn't need Uncle Roger to boost either his fame or popularity. It's also his choice whether he wants to engage with Uncle Roger or not and I don't know why people can't comprehend that the man can actually make a choice about this himself and doesn't just have to listen to what Roger's fans want. If I were him and I noticed and watched all of the mocking, shaming, disgust and continued bullying getting thrown at me not just by him but his followers as well I'd probably only acknowledge him by making a video saying 'yeah, I get abused by his fans because of how much he's pegged his growing fame on insulting me for no reason every chance he gets and I don't condone bullying so no, I'm not going to be contacting him.' Because why would I want to talk to someone who was doing that to me just in order to increase their own fame...? There are also people out there who just don't approve of Uncle Rogers humour since it literally is: make insults and racist jokes about white people and their cooking for laughs' if Jamie doesn't like his humour then he wouldn't want to collaborate with him anyway but the problem is is if he came out and said 'well Uncle Roger is a bully' or 'I personally don't approve of Uncle Rogers humour' despite being two very legitimate reasons for not wanting to engage with him all of Rogers fans would just accuse him of being a baby or not being able to take criticism or whatever so the moment he acknowledges Uncle Roger he can't really win if he's just genuinely not interested...he's also not complained about Uncle Roger, and hasn't been childishly or immaturely trying to abuse him in return or have him taken down off of KZbin or anything else - he's just living his life. Frankly for someone whose CLEARLY not interested in pursuing or giving Uncle Roger attention for internet bullying him Jamie's reacting in the most mature way possible - not acknowledging the bullying and carrying on with life. If Jamie talks to Uncle Roger now it only means Uncle Roger's going to be rewarded for constant bullying and his fame will go through the ROOF because Jamie FINALLY acknowledged him - but the outcome would only mostly be in Rogers favour, not Jamies. So if Jamie just wants to carry on with his life then just bloody let the man live - he's got his own things to do and he doesn't need Uncle Roger for any of them 🤷🏽♀️
