Elimination: Find where two lines intersect

Find where two lines intersect by Elimination.
1. Make sure the coefficient is the SAME on either the x's or the y's in BOTH equations
2. You can now subtract one equation from the other and PRESTO, one of the variables has been "eliminated".
3. You can now solve for the variable that remains
4. And plug it into either of the original equations to solve for the other variable
5. State your answer (x,y)!

The y- values are incorrect. The y values should have one negative and one positive in order to eliminate Y. In this process, everything should be added once you create your new equations, not subtracted. If i am wrong please explain, because i learned the elimination method differently.
