I've always advocated using a recorder when tethering might be an issue. The best suggestion I can give when doing so is to have the recorder and camera next to each other and clap your hands loudly. This will produce a spike on both soundtracks, allowing for better synchronization.

13:38. If you're on Android you can mirror to almost any smart watch excluding apple and any other computer, tablet or smart tv, excluding Apple. If you don't want to deal with wireless you could simply use USB-C to HDMI and hook up to any monitor or TV. Any feature apple has android has had for 3-5 years, apple just doesn't introduce it until they've found a way to monetize it.

Thank you for all you teach. I've purchased your Content Creator and 14 Day Filmmaker courses and LOOOOOVE them. I wanted to add one thing you might want to edit into this current video. You mentioned in here that you could stream your phone camera to your computer or iWatch but said there was nothing for Android phones. That may be true for most Androids, but Samsung has a perfect solution called Samsung Flow. I didn't know about it myself until your comments inspired me to go searching for a solution. I just installed it on my phone and computer and it works like a charm. It can be streamed with tablets too. Sadly, I haven't yet been able to configure my Samsung watch, but it's supposed to work there too. But once again, THANK YOU, for all your great content and inspiration. Keep up the great work!!!

Oddly enough, right next to the PoP mic on your amazon search was the maybesta wireless lavalier mic. At 29.99 that thing is amazing, theres a reason it has 4.4 stars across 2.5k reviews. And while that one is lightning, for the iphone, they do a USB C one, but also do a multi adapter version that works in all phones and on digital cameras. And for about $10 more, theres a version that has a built in recharge case Hands down the best mic on a budget. So I would argue that mic and decent lights over the Rode setup or the DJI (even though, of course, they are better sound) :)

I’m not even done watching the video yet and it’s already been so helpful that I had to pause and comment. This has to be the single, most helpful video I’ve ever watched for how to film content for beginners, especially because it’s specifically for using one’s smartphone, which even tho must of us are in this early stage, most videos for beginner content creation don’t focus on it. I’ve watched hundreds of videos at this point since I started a couple years ago, and if I had only watched this single video and none of the others, I would have all of the information I needed. The rhetorical stage of learning - being bf able to communicate what you know is spot on! In our faith, in anything….when you truly understand something, you should be able to explain it to some degree. And if you can’t, you’re ripe for being manipulated to something else. Behind every subject, there are facts and there is a why does this matter. So many focus on the why and skip over the why does this matter. And why does this matter is what I, as a homeschool mom, am constantly asking myself. What actually matters the most? Don’t skip out on those things and don’t stress over the things that just don’t matter in the grand scheme. Unfortunately, as you alluded, we’re wired to focus on the things that don’t always matter. That’s the education system we were raised in. Meanwhile the things that do matter are slipping through the cracks……this…our society has been “dumbed down.”

Honestly, I'm not using any of the great tips you discussed here and yet I've still had people be really surprised to learn that I use my i-phone-and old one at that- to film all my content. In the 21'st century I just don't see the need for an expensive camera (for what I do, at least) to shoot great looking footage. I DO need to get a better handling on audio though, and the options you gave here were excellent. I'll be coming back to this video often man. I've saved it to make it easy to find. Thanks!

Amidst the chaos and disarray, One can still create content in a clever way. By following steps with compositional finesse, Your footage can surely impress. Pick your scene with interest and depth, And clean it up, don't be inept. Composition is key, fill the frame, With straight lines and eyes, it's not a game. Lighting is crucial, don't forget, Diffused and soft, not hard and direct. Audio should be clear and refined, A mic or transmitter, take your pick, be aligned. Settings are important, don't ignore, Cinematic mode can make your footage soar. Lenses aren't needed, just use what you've got, And shoot at 24 frames per second, it's not a lot. Hello! As I understand it, the video was shot on an iPhone 13 or something like that. Maybe I'm wrong, but in my opinion the face looks quite flat. Is it possible to somehow set the lighting to create volume? How can you do this during the day, when the sun illuminates the entire room, and in the evening, when you use artificial light?
@MrPaulXavier
@MrPaulXavier 10 ай бұрын
I shot this video in HDR and then edited in premiere pro which doesn't play nice with the HDR footage. In hindsight it would have improved a ton by NOT shooting in HDR so silly me for leaving that feature on. Additional time spend on lighting would also help

Okay, I know you said that you can start with any gear you have, but I asked your advice what the best vlogging phone was and you said the Iphone 15 Pro Max but you also that the regular Pro does the job as well. So yesterday I went to our local electronic store and I purchased the Iphone 15 Pro (so no Max) and I'm diving into your course. First of all, I see a lot of great KZbinrs and I wish I could listen to them all and purchase and follow all their courses but you got more my attention than the other ones. You seems to be more genuine and you don't turn around the subject or provide general information which are based on common sense. My plan was to follow each day 1 Day of your course, but it is packed with so much information that I just finished the Frame Rate section, which took me just about 2 hours so for now I have to let sink in this information (as I'm a slow learner) and to quit for today (as I have more to do today - busy life). So I think I will finish this course in one year instead of 14 days! Now because you explain it so well that even I !! can understand it (and that's something, because I recently tested my IQ which is average, maybe even less than average) I feel really bad to the point that I'm crying right now as i'm writing this down. Cause my dream to become a KZbinr has costs me a lot of money and time already and I feel like I stole this money from my own family. I purchased a course in the beginning from a famous KZbinr (I won't mention his name cause I'm sure his intentions were great) but I feel a bit ripped off like I bought a bag of air with only some crumps of my favorite cookies on the bottom. I feel so stupid that I subscribed to licences which I didn't need. That I bought some fancy gear which I don't understand the use of it, etc. I invested like 3K to my KZbin (and other social media) dream and with my impatience and being impulsive (I have a self proclaimed ADHD and maybe other mental disorders) it took me a lot of -wasted- time, -wasted- energy and -wasted- money. Now with your course I feel like I'm learning actually something highly valuable and I regret it so much that I didn't discover you in the beginning. All I needed was this course, a descent phone and some inexpensive gear you recommend as well. Sorry for the oversharing and self pity but I needed to get this off my chest to restart fresh and I will promise to you but also to myself that I stick to this course till it's finished and that I will finish it (the other courses I finished too, the only good thing I did so far). Your course is the best out there, and affordable! You don't steal our dreams and our money. And armed with my notebook, pen and new Iphone I'm sure I can reach my goal, which is to create a second income, as a content creator and as an artist. And 1K for me is more than enough as I just want to be acknowledged as an artist and your course will be the foundation of this dream! As you said, we just have to persistant and staying focussed and then it is just a matter of time and I believe in that. I'm willing to put it in the hard work and I'm passionated to work this way and I can be proud of myself! Thank you so much again. You deserve all the best!

I'm so glad you've found our 14 Day Filmmaker course to be so valuable! I poured my heart into that course and truly believe it is one of the best resources on the planet for content creators looking to grow online. I'm terribly sorry you've had bad experiences in the past with other course creators though... My best advice I can give you now would be to REALLY focus on going through the course and practicing what you learn every single day. The practicing is the ONLY thing that will get someone to the next level. Best of luck to you in your journey, I am rooting for you big time!

I didn't notice that the bookshelf behind you was slightly tilted. Even after you mentioned it I was not distracted because the tilt was very slight so it didn't matter. More importantly, what you were saying was so interesting that the background hardly mattered. The tilt was to the right for the viewer so it looked OK, but if the tilt was to the left then it would have been very slightly distracting.

This video is a great help to me! I have to admit that I stopped it a few times and rewound it to a topic I wanted to see again. I just started a channel with only one video, yikes! I am determined to get better at this. My content is based on a memoir I am writing. I am likely to upgrade to your classes if I can 'Chumba Wumba' myself into a higher level of performance.
