I had a 96 with a mustang gt tune on it after the computer was replaced after 12000 miles. The car was a blast to drive. The car was crazy off the line when it was wet out. If it wouldn't have been for the frame rusting out around the rack and pinion and bending a lot of parts I would still be driving it today.

Marty does a good job on tuning the engine. Biggest compaint I have on his tunes is his transmission adjustments. Shift points are held WAY too long. My car would be well passed red line before it would shift into 3rd. And the stiffness of the shifts is neck breaking. Tune on engine was nice and woke the car up, but had to do some customizing on his tune file to adjust the shift points and stiffness to make the car perform nicer and make it more driveable.

@@LaffyGaffy69 you have to contact him with the issues and he will reconfigure the program for your tune and send you a new tune file to upload to your car. If you know how to tune cars you can do this yourself, but you have to know how to reprogram and tune vehicles which would basically mean that you wouldn't have needed him to do it for you in the first place.

I lost soo much bottom end power doing this to my exhaust..Even thought I have the custom 93 oct. Marty tune for my car..I have the side out exh just before the rear tires and no cats..Sunday I`m having some Flow Masters and tail pipes put back on.. It sounds awesome,but performance is really affected(For my car). After going back and forth with Marty we decided that there`s just not enough back pressure.. Other`s may not notice or mind the loss in bottom end power/torque..

Yeah unless you start doing some serious engine work deleted cats and mufflers are just louder. The Marty tune is actual Dyno proven. That part about the k&n and muffler delete are butt Dyno proven haha.

Hey Mr. Random! Going to look at an 08 CVPI on Saturday! The interior has been gutted and the guy says it needs new rear bearings (which I’m pretty sure I can do myself) and it needs a lot of exterior cosmetic work. But, supposedly the engine is strong, the transmission is good, and the AC is cold. And it only has 109 K miles. Plus, the guys only asking 1200, and I’m hoping I can pick it up for eight or nine. Wish me luck! Also appreciate any advice on other things I should be looking for when I go to check it out.

I really want to do this but I cannot justify it. I want a manual transmission so bad and the cheapest I can figure on doing it is gonna run me between $3k and $4k. It is gonna be much easier for me to just trade my Mercury for a Mustang or sell it and buy a Mustang. Looks and sounds like a lot of fun though. First off, the tune doesn't affect operation of any other objects on the vehicle, so yes your switch to disable the OD will still function as it would without the tune. The tune adjusts engine timing, air/fuel ratios, transmission shift positions, transmission shift stiffness, etc. Secondly, turning off the OD while driving in town is not giving you better gas mileage. If you are worried about gas mileage, a Marty tune is not for you. Your gas mileage will decrease as that is not what the point of the tune is. The tune is to increase horsepower and performance which uses fuel to do that.

If you are getting a "Marty tune", the tuner device that he sends you will have 3 sperate tune files for you to choose from. 87,89,93.... essentially the timing settings and some fuel ratios are adjusted on the tune files from each. Octane rating on fuel is a number that tells how combustable a fuel is. The higher the number the slower it takes to ignite, so if running a higher octane you want the timing adjusted to match or likewise for lower octane. Typically engines with tighter tolerances, higher compression ratings, etc. are run with higher octane tunes and run best on higher octane fuels as you can maximize the potential of each power stroke of the engine running. Running a fuel with different octane versus how the engine and tune is set up on a vehicle will cause it to not perform as well as it could (in either way). Running higher octane gas is not going to give you more horsepower if motor is not setup and tuned for it. Also running lower octane isn't going to rob horsepower if motor is setup and tuned to run lower octane. For something like a stock 4.6 liter engine in a Crown Victoria, injectors are not anything to really worry about changing out from stock. Now, having them new, functioning properly, and clean would be important but changing their size to increase fuel flow, etc. is not something really that will improve much on any tune on these stock engines in a car that you are going to be running around on the street. Stick with stock size injectors. As for the "Marty" tunes, you can easily switch from one tune to another of the three or take the tune file out and have it back to the stock tune as well. When you use the tuner device you will save a copy of the vehicles stock "factory" tune that is currently on the vehicle. You then install the computer file for the new tune of your choice on the car. Go drive and try it out, if you don't like it or want to try another tune, you go through the process and uninstall the current tune file that you have on it and install the tune that you want to try next or reinstall the original factory tune file that you saved on the device in the beginning. That is all there is to it. The particular device that Marty uses (as shown in the video) can be purchased on its own and can be gotten for your particular vehicle as well (Crown Victoria or what not) and comes from SCT with tunes from them as well that are close to what Marty offers as well. (less expensive, as Marty sells you the SCT device and then sells you his tune files) You can also customize the tunes themselves with the SCT device (obviously works better if you know what you are doing and have vehicle on a dyno to watch performance differences as you make adjustments). The tunes definitely will wake up the old 4.6 and makes the car more fun to drive. Crown Vics were NEVER a car that could really get out of its own way, by installing a different tune on them, they do actually scoot and have a little life in them. (No the tune will NOT make it the fastest thing on the road, they are still heavy and old and under powered but they do get some more ponies running)

Product is designed to only work on 1 car at a time. It retreives and saves initial vehicle tune data and specs and then uploads other tune files. If you use on another vehicle, you have to clear the saved data (wipe device memory) and start over on another vehicle which then will not work on first vehicle any longer if needed to reboot or reinstall stock tune, etc. You can use it on other vehicles but it is best not to. The tune files loaded on device from Marty are specific to a specific type of vehicle.
