This song is like fine wine, gets better every time you listen to it. I struggled with it the first time, but it has rapidly moved up the ranks in favourite tracks of this album. Your reaction to it had me grinning through the whole song. You can tell this will be the opener for every nightwish live album henceforth. Music, the very first song. Thanks for the reaction and stay safe.
@timpwhit4 жыл бұрын
Couldn't agree more. The first time I heard it, just sounded OK (of course, OK for Nightwish is still pretty awesome). But the complexity of the composition and Floor's beautiful soft soprano in this song is really starting to grow on me.
@jacobturner52134 жыл бұрын
Same so far the entire album is like that for me.
@Garbox804 жыл бұрын
I know right. The first time I heard it I KNEW it would get better with every listening. The complexity of the song, especially the singing in the verse parts, is mind blowing. Floor is a true professional, but I can still imagine the amount of work she has put in to get that just right (she and Tuomas even said something about it). Many singers couldn't even pull it off live which is what I totally expect Floor to do.
@magnusten52614 жыл бұрын
@@Garbox80 As timothy says... floor's soft voice is what truly seals it for me. The notes are almost in stracatto, and so far from her comfort zone. She has to make it sound catchy to the audience instead of something she's struggling to keep up with. I've followed floor since I found her in an Ayreon album in 2008, and I've seen her belt and growl and do opera with ease. With nightwish, she's added another string to her bow. I always find it a little disheartening that people don't appreciate this nuance as much as the belts and growls. Like you said, she will pull it off live. She did with the planet rock video of how's the heart! I love floor, and tuomas for bringing this side out of her.
@Garbox804 жыл бұрын
@@magnusten5261 It's kind of ironic when people complain about Tuomas not using Floor's ablilities fully when he actually is making her explore them even more! I do get what they mean and in a way it would've been nice to have a bit more of those belts here, but on the other hand she has already done those and I can always listen to those songs if I want ro hear it. This album is a completely new NW while still being pure NW.
