JUAN song does NOT make an album! Is there anything else close to "Dear John" on the album? I'd like to hear it if so! (=

A guy that I met in Waco, Ricky Cardwell, wrote this song. We were camping on Lake Waco way back then. Campfires ,guitars, new friends and good times..:)

@@russhook6595: Jerry Jeff put this on an album ‘It’s a Good Night for Singing’ in 1976. An album that is not available on iTunes ☹️. And it’s not on any of his other albums either, as far as I can tell.

Damn this is just good music right here . I have it on the lp It's a Good Night for Singing. On vinyl no less. Sure wish Jerry could get some radio play like he used toi back in the day. Now they don't even play him on the classic country stations. Sad.

I just got to thinking about this song while I was out picking up stuff in the yard. I had to come in and look it up, glad to find it, I hadn't heard it in probably 30 years.

Down in the dumps? Put this song on and I bet you might feel a lot better. Just finished playing this about 7X in a row. BTW is it possible for me to find that Dear John Letter Lounge? I'd love to meet all those characters after Jerry Jeff' introducing them to me.

This sounds great. I have the original lp and just bought the Raven cd reissue. Worked with Ricky when this came out in 1976. Best song on the album.

Yeah Russell, I knew Ricky way back then too!! We drank a few Lone Star together. In one of those DJLL places. Wonder where he is these days? He was an electrician as well as a talented song writer. Good times!!!
