@@kalal75 Not surprising since this happens in every movement. Tell me one movement without different factions at each others throats, when they exist they're either too young and small to have factions or are almost dead (the last faction standing kinda thing). Christians killing christians throughout history (because of small interpretation differences), the dozens of socialist parties across the globe, the right, the left, the lgbtq, star trek and star war fans- you name it. People always think others should think like then and hang on the hope, and illusion, of groups having true unity- as if we were all dolls from the same factory. People never work like that

I see this even now all the time. When i was a full time mum, I used to see women who would think of it as some sort of incompetence for not ‘achieving enough’ outside my family and when I was a working mum, vice versa, stay home mums would think of it as not being there for family enough. I’m telling you, it’s the jealousy that women have each other draws the distance instead of trying to be in one’s shoes and help each other. If a woman is truly powerful, they don’t need to look down at others’ situation, instead they should respect one’s choice.

Just finished watching this series. First of all the cast, perfect, genius. They ALL deserve Emmys, Oscars whatever is the accolades series get. But most importantly glad, happy they did a series about the women that came before us. They were humiliated, degraded, slander, harassed. They took a huge massive toll against them for all of us. Us the ones that are able to walk freely, make decisions, speak up freely. Because of them today we can express how hard workers and valuable we are inside and outside our homes. Thank you to all of those women who made an easier path for all of us today. We are now in a cold war, but we still fighting. Let's teach our children to respect each other. We need each other.

The story of Phyllis Schlafly is a good illustration of what ideas actually mean and the fundamentally incorrect way many people look at the recent past and at the idea of “progress”. Some people function in completely different paradigms than other and their conceptions of freedom are completely different. A big mistake we make is unconsciously imposing our worldview on other people and then being outraged when they don’t abide by it. For people like Schlafly freedom did not meant freedom to work and have a career as many women aspire to today. The freedom to enter the sphere of men. Many women’s conception of freedom and rights are like the right and freedom to be a mother and homemaker and that gives their life meaning and joy as opposed to chasing paychecks and wasting their life in some office working for some corporation thinking they are empowered.

@@dontbefatuousjeffrey2494 There are people who are way left of center, but historically they don't support their own causes. Example guess who gives more to charity, "the tolerant and empathetic" or "the demonized". Republican give a heck of a lot more than Democrats. When there is a conservative movie out, it is well support by conservatives but the Left censor that in the news. Btw, the Left is, as you know, all about censoring because they can't literally handle the truth.

I find it so interesting that historically (and surely now) a way for women to get more freedom was to actively work against the rights of women. That way they were allowed to be the exception to the rule without any of the risks.

THE best thing on telly this year - by miles. So many fantastic performances but seeing as Cate Blanchett will get most of the plaudits (and I would not deny her any of them) may I put a word in for Tracey Ullman? She was off the chart in her portrayal of Betty Friedan.

As a woman who decided not to get married and have children, and who worked in male dominated positions all my life, I have never hated a woman more than Phyllis McAlpin Stewart. If I had been paid as a man, I would be well off today. But I'm not. And this selfish close-minded @!,* is to blame.

Watched a PBS Doc. on Stewart. From her own lips: " if women get paid the same as men, men will be paid less, and I, and other women like me, won't be able to stay home to raise our kids." What about women who want or need to work?

Many have to work now because of feminism, who did not have to work during her time. You have obviously not heard her side of the story if you think she is hateful. She spoke kindly to all, even those she disagreed with. But if you are emotionally invested in feminism and against her, you likely won't listen to facts.
