Dude same here! I started really getting into WWE in 08 as well and I remembered when I got into it: It was a Friday night after school and I used to like watching the Dog Whisperer from 8 to 10 before going to bed. However, they stopped airing that show at one point and I was trying to find something to watch in it's place. Then I remember my cousin telling me about a wrestling show that comes on Friday nights at 8 and I decided to tune into Smackdown. Been a WWE fan since I even remember the episode where Vickie Guerrero stipped 'Taker of his world title because he used the Hell's Gate against Edge at WrestleMania.

2006, used to play Smackdown vs. Raw with my cousin for HOURS on his ps2. Finally got my Xbox 360 in 2007 and when I got SvR 2007 I fell in love. Shawn & H became my longtime favs, but I fell out of love in 2011, when Jeff Hardy and Shawn left wrestling respectively in 2009 & 2010. It wasn’t all the way until when WWE 2k22 come out and I became reimbursed into my childhood. Greatly enough, the new storylines with this deep roster got me into wrestling all together since again, recently got into AEW a couple of weeks ago.

A couple weeks later I also happened to be in the room when the Rock beat up Cody in front of his tour bus; that was the moment I became a fan. I’ve watch every Raw, Smack Down, and PLE since. When I’m bored at work I’ll watch old PPV or famous matches, on occasion I’ll watch NXT. Hoping to attend my first live event soon.

Like with you I had to fall in love with Wrestling twice, the first was in 2008 with the Undertaker and Edge feud. The second time for me was in 2020 with the Thunderdome era, while it's a time everyone wants to forget for me it was a time where WWE had to get creative. The Boneyard Match, the Money in the Bank in the WWE HQ, the Wyatt Swamp fight, the Hurt Buisness. I grew an appreciation for Drew Mcintyre and Bray Wyatt the latter of which becoming my new favroite. This time around I never saw WWE as a serious sport and it made me appreciate the good storylines and characters all the more.

The Judgement Day was a huge part of why I fell in love with professional wrestling. I was honestly drawn to their “darker” aesthetic and it made it go “Huh, where are they from?”. Rhea Ripley was the first wrestler to catch my eye, once again because of her style and just the POWER that she exudes is truly inspiring to me. Damien Priest was the next one to grab my attention, and eventually I got wrapped up in the Bloodline storylines and Roman Reigns is definitely another inspiration to me. The Judgement Day being the first faction to bring me to the world of WWE though, is the reason SummerSlam 2024 broke me a little, as beautiful as it was

I started watching wrestling in 2015. The first match I watched was Daniel Bryan vs Kane in a casket match on a random smackdown. I really liked how smooth it was compared to MMA or boxing. I kept watching it until wrestlemania 31. I didn't understand the concept of PPVs, so I just skipped it, and suddenly, on RAW after WrestleMania 31, Seth Rollins wasn't Mr. Money In The Bank, he had a Championship I've never seen before, cause I was a casual and Brock Lesnar was a part timer. Seth Rollins as WWE Champion, and all of his feuds with Dean Ambrose, John Cena, Sting, Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar made me a consistent fan. John Cena's US Open Challenge also kept me watching RAW every week. The Lucha Dragons and Neville were my favorites because of their unique high flying at the time. I started watching NXT by august tho, and Finn Balor was Champion. It was a whole different mood, which made me take a while to get used to. But NXT and AJ Styles debuting in 2016 made me a crazy wrestling fan, which I still am to this day. Sorry for the big text guys 😂😂😂

I'm going to elaborate on Japanese wrestling and why I enjoy it. Oct. 2019 Jushin Liger announces his retirement for WrestleKingdom 14 in 2020. I think 'He wrestled in WCW with Brian Pillman multiple times and those are classics. And of course I love anime, and Liger is a Go Nagai character, so I watch WK14 and my god it was amazing. I'm an old head who started watching when I was about 4 in the early 80's. It's hard to remember the territory days because I was so young. But even then, I was kind of a heel section fan. I remember Jake The Snake Roberts being one of the first people who really caught my attention. It was a very strange attraction, because his promo style would legitimately scare the 💩 out of me as a 4 year old boy!!! But there was also a big part of me who thought he was REALLY COOL!!!

My first time experiencing wrestling was a random Saturday morning. A channel had a tag match with the Undertaker (I don’t remember the rest of the wrestlers in the match). What really got me into wrestling happened years later with WrestleMania 31. Heist of the century, the US championship match, etc. I watched WWE highlights on KZbin (I was young and didn’t have the means to watch it live) until 2023 where I would watch it live after Sami Zayn’s betrayal of the bloodline.

So I’m gonna age myself a bit here but I was 7 and I was flipping channels. It was the 30th of march 1998. If anyone doesn’t understand the significance of that date it was the debut of the DX that fronted the Monday night wars. I had seen a few random episodes of WCW previously, just flipping channels, but I had never seen WWF at the time. Well in my limited viewing of WCW I had seen Syxx and some of the NWO stuff. I happened to flip past Monday night raw. What I saw was Syxx, now known as X-PAC, walking down the ramp. I didnt know much of anything but I knew I had seen that guy before and it wasn’t on this show. Seeing his face made me sit down and tune in and that segment with DX instantly hooked me. Everything was so cool in my 7 year old mind and after that night I never looked back. I went to school the next day and it’s all I could talk about.

My interest was peaked for the first time when The Rock started posting this year about being involved again leading up to Wrestlemania 40 & Wrestlemania was actually the very first WWE event I had ever watched on TV. I didn't have access at the time to watch any Raw or Smackdown shows so I was fresh into WWE but after Wrestlemania I started watching more & learning as much as I could because I was hooked! I'll be going to my first live show in November! I also followed & subscribed to SanchoWest when he was doing more in the Fortnite & gaming scene & still kept up with what he was doing when he moved to more wrestling content so I credit him & The Rock for my new obsession! 😂

My story is similar to yours. I don't remember why but my parents dropped me off at one of their friends house to watch me and they had a son that was watching WrestleMania X8. And I fell in love right after that. RAW aired to late so I never got to watch it, but SmackDown on Thursdays, I kept up religiously with. Angle, Edge, Benoit, etc. really got me into it. I fell away in 8th grade because it wasn't cool. Decided to watch again my senior year of high school which was 2011. in 2013 I fell away again because of college and jumped back into it in 2019 with Kofi mania.

It eventually led to the Elimination chamber for the vacant World Heavyweight Championship, my favorite match ever.

I was an original Hulkamaniac as a little kid. Tuned out until high school because I could never get Mom and Dad to pop for the PPVs during the HBK/Bret Hart era, then found a buddy with a "black box" during the Attitude Era and stayed with it through Ruthless Aggression. Completely turned off the product in the 2010s because it was pretty damn bad (sorry, Alberto Del Rio and JBL didn't do it for me) and got back into it with my kids during the Thunderdome/Covid era. But it was the Cody/Roman feud heading into 39 that sold us for good.

I have faint, probably made up, memories of watching bits and pieces of some stuff around 99 and 2002, but what I definitely watched and got me hooked was the Eddie Guerrero vs JBL feud in 2004, Eddie and Chris' coronations in WM XX and everything I have ever watched from Rey Mysterio. I fell out of love in WM 30 because I am an Undertaker fan and was done with the product when the streak ended, and only came back at this year WM 40. I never fully went without knowing what was going on, so I knew some stuff about Rock, Cody and Roman, but what solidified my newfound love for WWE was Seth Rollins doing the heavylifting.

Unfortunately my dad passed on the very next year and my family was against wrestling as they believe it was violence.. not suitable for me to watch. Until when I was 12 when I walk passed a DVD shop, I purchased WrestleMania 24 and my the first match that impress me was Shawn Michaels vs Ric Flair in a career threatening match. It make me fall in love then and then it come John Cena after I fully understand his gimmick of never give up. It was because of John Cena , I adapt a never say die attitude and cement myself as a wrestling fan. To be honest I fell in love again, because of your Tiktok videos, which brought me back to wrestling after becoming a father and just not having the time back then. So thank you for that ❤

I have loved wrestling since I was introduced to it by my oldest brother in that period where it was too late for the attitude era but Ruthless Aggression was beginning. Whether it be Here Comes The Pain throughout the Smackdown vs Raw series to watching John Cena’s legendary battles with Edge to watching HBK and HHH terrorizing Vince McMahon. I was hooked so when it came time that I couldn’t watch it weekly I kept up with it on social media throughout the ups and downs of the 2010s. I started watching the PLEs once I got Peacock and I have been watching every PLE since. I even get to watch NXT weekly granted a day late or so because whoever is in charge of putting the newest episodes on there suck at their job. No matter what happens Professional Wrestling will always be apart of me, and I am happy it will because Wrestling is cool. Even when we have those wacky segments that make people think you’re a moron for loving it I couldn’t care less. Pro wrestling is pretty much a home to me.

I vividly remember watching in 2014 (pre 2016 is A blur) and the three constants were John Cena, The Shield and the Wyatt family (honourable mentions: Gold Dust and Starr Dust, The Miz, Randy Orton, Hardy Boyz, Aj Styles and Batista), I kept watching until 2022 after Wrestlemania 38 and would stop watching weekly after Wrestlemania 37. 2023 and 2024 Royale rumbles AND elimination chamber (my two favourite match types) made me wanna watch every Wrestlemania leading to 40, Shawn Michaels ended up among me realize why I lived wrestling in the first place TL;DR 2014-2020 was weekly 2021/22 was casual 23/24 chamber and rumble sparked it HBK saved my love for wrestling

I remember seeing Matt hardy doing his flying maneuvers a couple matches then i saw him against RVD which he lost. Rob Van Dam got me into wrestling, i had always seen wrestling here and there for 20 minutes. But it was a passing thing like watching a movie randomly while flipping channels. I remember watching his matches on youtube and everyone he went against he was just kicking their ass. Everyone was getting dominated by RVD. Then i saw him against Chris benoit and RVD was just playing defensive in the match. He wasnt doing his acrobatics he was avoiding making aggressive moves. Then i saw chris benoit pull a crossface i think and i was hooked. I watched his matches and i just loved the threat of a cross face, a quick mistake and he can pull you into a cross face and win. This just helped define wrestling as one of my favorite things. I just binge watched wrestling smackdown mostly, loved eddie too.

I'd say what clicked for me was Triple H vs Batista storyline, and JBL as WWE champion. Also, the Undertaker in general.

this is funny. the reason I first got curious about wrestling is because of how weird Val Venis was, that was in 1999. and it made me ROFLOL, but what seriously made me fall in love with wrestling was the debut of Rey Mysterio. why? simply because we're the same smaller stature people and I latched on to that and it inspired me

I mentioned it on the post, while I was a fan well before MJFs “Rolls Of Quarters” promo that is the promo that I relate to the most.

What made me a Wrestling fans it’s a little weird story but I Saw Some segments of the 24/7 Title and I found this really fun. And when I saw that Smackdown was coming to Fox Channel I started to watch it to see more 24/7 title change but when I discovered that only jobbers were fighting for that belt and the real storylines were a different thing get the 24/7 title off my mind and that’s how I became a Wrestling fans.

When I was starting 2nd grade I was shopping for school clothes and saw a day night raw shirt including cena, John Morrison, Batista, Rey , and taker and even though I had never seen wrestling before i had to have it for some reason I was drawn to it, my parents would let me watch wrestling from that point on thinking maybe it was something I was into but I really didn’t know anything other than John cena is on the tv, however one day i eventually started to understand what was going on and what I was watching and that just happened to be the night that Randy orton kid led Vince’s skull in. From that point on I have been a wrestling fan, haven’t stopped watching to this day even through the tough times and it’s also the reason to this day why I will never boo Randy orton no matter what
