I’m so glad to see that your back is improving. I really enjoy your videos. As a senior golfer of 72 years it’s very hard to make changes to a lifetime of bad swing habits but your videos focus on one small thought I can apply. It’s too late for me to tear down my swing and start over but one small step at a time is helping. Thank you for all your energy.

I have watched this drill so many times, so thank you. I really struggle with keeping my forward left foot planted and holding my finish. I will take this info to the range and hope it fixes my finish issues. Most the time my left foot is pointing at the target when I finish my swing. I see several of my golf buddies doing similar things so maybe you could do a video on this? Thanks

Thank you for a good footwork drill I can do at home. I also like how you piece it together, very nice progression to finally get posted up on my lead leg. Keep up the good work.

Fantastic video. I see most golfers have bad foot work. Most roll over to the outside and it’s just luck if they strike the ball well. I agree that you must get this fundamental down before going on. Great tip.

Excellent video. Us amateurs lead with our shoulders, hands, then have our legs follow. So hard to trust the opposite! But this is great. Can you do a video about the compression of golf balls and what applies best for us?

I bought a pair of Athlon shoes thanks to your earlier video on these. I have been using them for over a month and they are fantastic! They look good, are comfortable, and best of all they really help your golf swing! As soon as I put them on and took a swing into my net I could feel the difference! My golf scores are lower too! And you will gain distance. Just unbelievable, thanks Matt!

Matt, Have you tried the optional insoles available from Athalonz? I just placed an order but not sure if I should stick with the stock insoles, or get the optional insoles. Thanks

My big right toe is a little sensitive. 47 years driving a yellow taxi in NYC has my big right toe pointing a little to the right. It exposes the knuckle, joint of the toe and callousness occurs on the outside of the joint. Thick callous can make the joint ache. But I don’t want to give up on my Athalonz shoes. So I will stretch the toe box with tennis balls and baseball balls. I’m sure in time Athalonz will have wider toe boxes in their expanding shoe company. All the powerful action in the golf swing,is from the waist down to the shoes. How well a golfer will play depends upon how the legs are feeling.

do you have a video that will help me lower my ball flight with my short irons ? hit my 9ron only about 120 . Should I move the ball back of center .

You could extending too early causing you to change the loft of the club. Also, could be the swing speed. Def have used his advice of recording yourself so you can see slow mo of what's happening at contact.

Does anyone else feel that it can get painful to have the back foot tilted in like this after a bunch of swings? I’ve felt pain in the arch and inner knee over time when I try this. It always works well, just doesn’t seem like something the joints are ok with. Hmm.

sorry but do NOT use spikeless shoes! I will STOP playing golf if golf courses ban spikes like they did metal cleats. Watch mygolfspy about how much most people (maybe not the long drive champs) lose when not using spikes.

The 'modern' ground force weight transfer is to diagonally drive the weight transfer from the Right Heal to the Left Toe (for Righties), not as you stated to the Left Heal, because you want the forces going towards the ball - unless of course if you play a significant cut in which case a more balanced back to front, less diagonal, weight transfer is more appropriate. My other comment is about your shoes. If you walk significant distances (i.e. 100s of rounds of 18 hole golf not riding in a cart) in shoes that unnaturally raise the outside edges of your feet, I would highly recommend that you consider not doing this longer term. You absolutely do not want to change the natural evolutionary working angles of the inner knee - it is a very bad idea. As an analogy, think about what your old tires look like when you put a new set on if you have a bad alignment - the excessive wear on a certain edge of the tire is immediately obvious if your alignment is out. I'm not saying not to wear these shoes and that they don't give excellent, if not the best grip for golf, but for those of you that walk the course and play lots of golf, I would suggest a different more neutral set from a longer term perspective - i.e. you don't use your world long driving swing on the golf course. Hope the back is getting better - if you don't sleep on a Tempur Pedic bed, that is my number one recommendation after a lifetime of back issues for long term back health.

Before I watch the video, let me guess. Lifting the left heel in the backswing. Nope! There is nothing wrong with doing that. Arnold Palmer did that so it’s not wrong.
