@@travispenningon the weight difference is a factor and if it were a real fight then the hafthor would crush conor😂
@travispenningon
@travispenningon 4 жыл бұрын
Moises Ferrel Size doesn't win fights skill does. The only time size is a factor is if they have the same skill. Clearly in the video Thor thought he would treat Conor like a child and pick him up and control him on the ground but that wasn't the case considering thor didn't know even what to do how to get leverage, close the distance with footwork or how to take someone down. He got tired and wanted to quit and Conor would not let him and toyed with him. Size is a disadvantage in a fight it makes you slow, clumsy and you get tired quick. In fact strongman is the complete opposite of how you train for a fight counter productive to fight training 100% especially the diet overeating and being bloated destroys cardio. Most fight are won by who is in the best shape not the strongest.

He was a world class track athlete who converted to strongman in the 80's at an advanced age. He only started strongman at 30-31 years old. Yet, He got 1st or 2nd a whopping 5 times after age 30. Unlike others on this list, he didn't have the years to train for it, cuz it was a newly organized sport.

@@SuperMontsta Not at all. Benching? Naturally your chest muscles are one of the least important and least used muscles during everyday activity. Since when do you need to push something away from you or hold something statically, pull something from your side to the front? You don't do this. It is of course very dependant on someone's natural strength but I think 70 kilo PR for a first time is legit. These stats at the end are obviously the average lifters, I guess the average guy can't squat 130 kg and probably can't deadlift that much as well.

I respect you putting Z at the top, he’s easily the greatest strongman to ever live. It’s a shame Hall never pushed himself to achieve true greatness but it is important to take care of your body. I think we may see some amazing stuff in the coming years, Thor recently hit a 480kg raw deadlift and Kieliskowski is an absolute monster who just has to work on his deadlift and overall lower body strength, but once Mateus gets his deadlift into the 900s or even 1,000, he will most likely be unbeatable.

Yay!! Thanks for making me feel weak for the whole video.. but then strong again after you showed the average male weight lifting capabilities.. I'm older now but in my 20's I actually managed to work out with 3 sets of 10 @290 lbs bench press.. to be fair I am 6'2" at about 200 lbs now and was never skinny skinny.. always a little on the heavier side anywhere from 185(in my best athletic shape) all the way up to 245(in my worst and fattest shape).. and was around 215-220ish when I was able to bench press that much.. never really got into too much weights even though I am one of those people who can put on muscle really easy without any "extra" help.. mostly did body weight exercises and a little bit of weights thrown in for good measure..(edit, and cardio obviously)

Angus McAskill, 1825-1863, at 7'9", the tallest non-pathological giant on record, is worthy of mention. From the Wikipedia article: MacAskill was well known for feats of strength, such as lifting a ship's anchor weighing 2,800 pounds (1,300 kg) to chest height, and an ability to carry barrels weighing over 350 pounds (160 kg) apiece under each arm or reputedly able to lift a hundredweight (50 kg) with two fingers and hold it at arm's length for ten minutes. As a farm boy he used to lift plow horses over fences. He didn't like to fight, but a heavyweight prizefighter badgered him into a bare knuckles match. McAskill caught the guy's fist in his hand and crushed every bone with one squeeze. Game over.

New orleans at the time did not actually have anchor that was that big Biggest anchor at the time could have been around 300 to 400 kgs at most Considering that people saw him walking away with an anchor I am guessing that he did in fact lift an anchor and carried it away but that anchor could be around a quarter of that claimed 1300 kg weight at most Which is again incredible feat, this guy was stronger than even andre the giant who by himself flipped a car with 3 guys inside and it took 4 strongman to do the same feat ( minus 3 guys ) meaning that angus could have, without a doubt, carry a 300 kg anchor After all this guy would be towering over both hafthor and brian shaw, he was 2.36 cm in height, around 250 kgs, had 200 cm chest and width of his shoulders was said to be over a meter ( he wore specially tailored coats that were 110 cm in width ) Now imagine someone that could make brian and hafthor small next to a average person, that average person would be like a kid to him, this guy was huge and had strenght of at least 10 average man, his muscle mass and tendons were massive and much much much bigger than in average person giving him ability to have a strenght of a grizzly bear or a gorilla
