Modesty is required in all religions. No exception.just read the Bible and you know. Look at the Nuns all are wearing (hijab) . But this mosesty of the Nuns is not only for them but for all Kristian women. I've read the Bible many times and was surprised how this part is neglected. Even attending the church, woman should wear a scarf and be modest. And they should sit in the back rows to listen to the speach and should not raise their voices......and other religions say the same. Just read the Bible and reflect on it.

And I think it's against the instinct to be not modest why Adam and eve cover them selves after eating the fruit Why as human civilized he covered himself more Why woman in Europe 50 years back wore modest clothes??? Brenna wow, what a coincidence that you ask me of all people that love crop tops. Before I was saved, I was obsessed with fashion and because of that I overspent on clothes, shoes, jewelry etc. My style was never concrete so I had different variations of outfits. A few days after I was saved, I realized there was one combination of outfits that repeated itself in my closet. Which was my ultimate favorite: crop tops combined with pencil skirts. So I forgave myself for my years of folly and donated everything else...any other clothing combination that didn’t fit the crop top pencil skirt or plain business dress style, bags and jewelry new and old. I’m not sure where you are in your journey in faith but if you’ve ever stumbled so badly in your path, you will see what I mean. I was in Jesus Christ’s presence during a rough patch in my life and nothing feels like His presence. It’s a peaceful presence that makes you realize you are more than just a robot paying bills, going to work, parties or friends on the weekend. I felt this wholeness and completeness for about a good solid day, I thought of nothing but Him. I only realized later when my mom asked me why I stopped wearing makeup all of a sudden that I changed not just internally but externally. The answer to her question was simple, I just didn’t feel like I needed it anymore. Don’t get me wrong, I didn’t forget to take a shower or iron my clothes, I still took care of what He gave me body and possessions. I just forgot about any extra piece. It shocked my mom because I’m very artistic and have always felt this need to express myself artistically. Now I just channel that creative energy in the things I do for Christ. I put all my focus on Jesus first. No, I don’t think it’s a bad thing to wear crop tops if you know how to style it and still maintain your dignity. I didn’t throw away any of my crops tops, I always wear loose crop t-shirts with pencil skirts or if you like the opposite why not fitted crop top (but not tight!) with a loose pencil skirt? Or any other bottom piece that you like and is comfortable. The idea is to pick one area you’d like to dress up (your best feature). After you’ve done that and know your style, you will be so busy with other things in your life that “what should I wear?” Won’t consume your time anymore. You won’t care much about style as much because you know you were made in God’s image and rest your confidence in Him. See Matthew 6:25 and Proverbs 31 as I said before you embody modesty as a result of maturity in faith, it’s effortless... I hope that helps

@@suegreenland5989 Well women in history were expected to be "modest" but modesty changes thru culture. Mary covered her head because of her culture...she was jewish, not Christian. In the 1800's, women in puritanical Europe would, like Caitlin said, wear things showing their boobs. Yes, people thru out culture wore clothes most of the time, but that is cultural. In Greece, rome, and many other cultures, loincloths were the norm. bikinis were also a thing throughout history. and yes, even in Israel they did(and do) habibi dancing, famous for its elaborate and revealing costumes. (belly dancing). In some tribes, they wear no clothes at all. In the French rivera, its common to go without shirts. Modesty is very subjective in our time, and now crop tops and all aren't shocking or surprising, but typical. also, a big reason people thru history wore clothes was mainly weather. People in tropical or Mediterranean enviroments always tended to wear lighter clothes, or less clothes in general. Would you say that crop tops, or things that emphasize the waist like mermaid style dresses are sinful? really, as a petite girl who has a small frame, they give me much more confidence than looser clothes, and make me feel feminine. Like, its not really about attracting guys. They make me feel free because of how new and special it feels to wear it. Why's that bad? (btw this is my other account :)

Brenna g idk who you replied to but seems from the content it pertains to what I said. Culture and religion are two different things. If you feel more drawn to submit to the culture around you then do so, we have free will. Trends are fleeting anyway they change every year depending on political, sociological , environmental factors etc. Religion also varies by denominations but it is either seen as mundane practice like any hobby out there in the weekend or taken as the relationship we have with God in which the spiritual essence has always remained the same, regardless of the time or place you live in. Modesty is subjective but it isn’t the same as a decision to dress preppy or street. It is rather a state of mind that comes with religious maturity. God isn’t looking at your mermaid dress... or the emphasis you try to put on your waist or your femininity, He already made you a woman and knows you possess the qualities of being feminine, so why emphasize what is evidently there? You said not for men... if then for yourself then what do you gain out of it? I tell you, I am not one to judge on fashion, as I’ve said before, I was a crazy fashionista years ago and I can tell you what I gained from that. I gained my social media and my friends’ approval, I had attention from dressing “uniquely” it boosted my ego and made me feel more confident about my artistic ability. Once you know what you’re capable of in fashion or whatever else you choose, you start to see passed that and God made you beautiful just as you are and you will forget of the desire of needing anything extra. Again this could escalate into something else, so rather than talking about there are many people that wear revealing clothes and this is the reality of the world, why not ask as a teen Christian what is the reality of God in your life? Are you more focused on approving of what to wear because this is how everyone is dressed or on trying to live righteously through the Word? Anyway try to focus and reflect on those verses above without coming into them already thinking of defending what you already have set in mind. God bless ❤️

I don't dress modestly because I'm ashamed of the way that I look or because I think that my body is a 'dirty' thing that needs to be hidden away. The Men who are “modest” are mainly insecure. I see plenty of men running outside only wearing shorts and exposing their whole upper body. And plenty of men with low cut V-necks. Or low button downs. Tanks that reveal the pectorals . Speedos on the beach. Sexy , confident men love to show their bodies and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that . My point is don’t make it seem one-sided when that’s not true. All humans who are self secure and confident have no issue with feeling comfortable in their skin. It is usually other people who have the issues and reflect them upon the other person.

I was like you when I was in high school but in university I move to a big city, and it caused a big impact cause I thought I was too prude, so I changed, i hooked up with guys, drink, smoke, trying to match, I felt in love but i was the other girl, the first time i saw a video of you, i laughed and thought you were too prude. But i subscribed, Why? Maybe in my heart i knew I missed the old me. the boy left me whitout saying a thing and that broke my heart, I continued talking to boys, and drinking a lot. A good friend said he was worried about my behave and in that moment it really hit me, I am happy,but I feel lost, I think maybe is that I was a good girl, the kind and sweet, and I really miss that part of me, I miss god, so I am watching your videos, because I want to grow in to a good spiritual woman. Yes, plus modesty just means not being overt, and that can be subjective often. For example a plain decent looking dress can be considered "overt" by someone else when the woman is naturally just attractive, and more an issue with the thoughts of the people looking at her and not that she is trying to draw attention to herself necessarily

As I get more mature, I realized not all attention is good attention. Sometimes, not being noticed is a blessing. I wanna go about my day without being hollered at. I have never given an ounce of attention to a man who has not approached me in a respectful manner and I have zero problem to assert myself and that has kept all my interactions from getting to a level I am uncomfortable with. Dressing with some level of modesty is a great way to communicate a lack of sexual availability and most men seeking only that will walk on by to someone looking sexually available as to not waste their time. We are not responsible for policing men's behaviour but we are responsible for policing our own individual behaviour! It is also not a man's fault if a woman sends every signal that she is looking for sexual attention and offers her some and she does not know how to conduct herself or express that she is not interested in him. Men are not mind readers.

I’ve been committed to dressing modestly since I was a twelve year old and never wore something I later super regretted. Growing up, feminist would bash me for not being more “comfortable with my body” and really needed to have a “better self image.” I totally have seen in my personal life that as I respect men with my modesty they in turn have always respected me! One of my brothers once told me that a friend of his told him that he watches his language and discussion topics when I’m around because of how much of a lady he sees me as! I’m personally very passionate about modesty and glad you made a video on this subject! :)

Men are designed to naturally desire for sex more than women. So it’s normal that men will look at women. We human beings are the only ones where the female has fully grown breasts even before having a child. Which is why we wear clothes to cover them. The men who are only there for sex will only be attracted to skin revealing breasts while the men who are looking for love and long term relationships are able to be attracted to women simply by the shape of their breast showing through the clothes. That’s the difference. Covering up is all about respect for the man who loves you because you keep the intimate parts of your body away from others and will only show it to your man in the bedroom.

I honestly love this as a 21 year old college girl I always get the comments you look like a prude or a librarian and everyone wears these short skirts and low tops and they look cheap to me I don’t feel comfortable sending those messages so I really appreciate you stating that being modest makes up even not objects thank you 😊

I love this video so much, God knows I needed it. It’s so easy to fall back into the trap of the way the “world” dresses, which is a more sexual sensual way when it feels like everyone around you dresses that way-even Christians. Thank you for this, being 17 & ‘slim thick’ but not showing it off with super tight fitting and revealing clothes my friends always judge me and say if they were me they probably would try to become a Instagram model and post pictures in a bikini and get all the guys they want. Idk I just don’t see myself that way. Nice take on modesty Caitlin ^_^ "Elegant" is definitely also a guiding principle for my style, which mostly also lead to more modest outfits. Showing too much is very "pushy" and thus not feminine which is more of a "pull" energy. The mystic of just showing just a bit is more feminine :)

Thank you very much this really taught me how to value myself as a woman (well teenager, but blossoming woman), I've had negative experiences with guys gawking at me and sexual harassment and the truth was that I wasn't treasuring myself enough to dress like a modest lady. I also grew up in the Pentecostal church ever since I was 10 which really taught me a lot about modesty but my parents always told me that I didn't "have to" dress and act like them, so I didn't. However, I've found through your videos and through KZbin how to truly embrace my femininity and to be empowered in that, and thank you Mrs. Midwest for introducing me to start the journey of discovering my femininity and embracing who God's made me to be and introducing me to the homemaker lifestyle as well because I am truly considering doing that for the rest of my life. If I were you, I'd look for a church with a singles ministry, small groups, connect groups, volunteer groups, etc. That way, you can break the ice and ask questions and mingle with people in a casual environment. Plus, when you show up on Sunday, you know some faces!!! Most churches have websites and social media too, so you can like pics of cool looking people and post any questions you might have ❤

Growing up my mother taught me to dress modest. I had phases where I didn’t dress modest because I wanted to try certain trends but I was so uncomfortable. I ended up going right back to my modest roots. Great video.
