Every single version of this song makes me cry :( I am truly so grateful for my wife and all that she has done with/for me, especially during my time in service and after deployments and all that we went through while I got my self back together again.

Hi, this is such an historic song that I hope reaches many people, that didn't even know they needed to hear it. That T.V. morning show helped to spread it, but of course there are always those who will poo poo it. On a side note, my brother won custody of his 2 children when his wife ran off with a "let's party" naughty cop. She lost again 5 yrs later when she wanted ONLY the daughter. Needless to say, my brother is a fantastic parent and went on to happilyremarry

As a Veteran this song hits so hard, we don't get the help we deserve and have to fight for it. It could take years to just get thrown away and denied the medication or help we need. My wife and I have been together for 17 years and not until about 5 years ago I told her about my struggles because I was ashamed and didn't want to feel weak.

To be a man!!! There are so many different meanings from some. We get up and work from dusk till dawn. Providing for our families and never complaining is the right perspective, am I right ? I love my wife and my family, and supporting them makes me so happy. Seeing the world via my kids' eyes is priceless. Who cares how I feel, who cares if I am scared, who cares if I feel like a failure, who cares if I am stressed. Who sees the suicide cuts on my arms. Or is it just viewed as attention seeking at the end of the day. Thank you for covering this song. Amazing. This song means a lot to me. Crying in the quiet and getting an outlet release.

My husband and I have talked about this a lot as well. He feels the same way. Altho, he does complain about work... let's face it, it usually sucks lol! It's his job to be the "man" and lead our family... but that doesn't mean he can't show emotions. However, he's usually emotional about things involving our kids like if he hears a song like "You're gonna miss this"... because our kids are everything to him. I've only ever seen him truly cry when his mother passed away. Other than that, it's happy things that affect him like the birth of our children. I think that even if you have to cry alone, letting it out is absolutely important. I wish you nothing but the best in your life. God bless you and your family! 🙏

Thanks! I don't listen to much popular music these days, but what little I have heard has come through the reaction world in the last few months...it has been a strange experience...having randomly listened to 2 songs on a reaction site to take my mind off of the ending of my career (Johnny Cash - Hurt and Ren - Hi Ren) took me down this trail and I have found it therapeutic and entertaining. You make good choices...thanks again.

In 1985 a 186 of my fellow brothers friends soldiers died in a plane crash coming home from Saudi Arabian. Our detail for days was to place those 186 caskets draped with a American flag over it. For two days in full dress uniforms hot in summer brought one at a time few words name rank accomplishment prayer an a 21 gun salute an taps played 186 times. I tell you this story an even though it's only a small story. I tell you because I'm not so sure even if its a little story like this can imagine or grasp the sacrifice the horror the lost that a soldier endures. An in all this chaos would gladly give his life for you so that you can live to tell the story. Once a soldier always a soldier an when someone takes time even if its just a minute or even a few seconds to recognize an comment about a soldier when i say thank you i mean exactly that from the bottom of my heart. Thank You

Appreciate the intergenerational emphasis, I have come to realise I am raised by narcissistic parents and have desperately been working on myself to maintain my mental health, thankfully have survived it but I lost my identity (lived 40 years serving parents needs) and am just rebuilding it. I certainly plan to make sure I heal properly with therapy before I enter a relationship or start a family. As a man I was invalidated at any opportunity to express any distress or even my own opinion (it feeds narcissistic behaviour to be used against you). I am now training as a practitioner in a mental health therapy while also doing my own work and am just now realising the abuse I have experienced. It would have broke me eventually had I not taken this route. I really hope men get support in private if they can, guys don't even get the chance to build emotional intelligence in this social climate to deal with problems.

This song came out and I thought, “Hey, if I show this to my wife, maybe she will realize I am hurting. The pressure is real. I worked hard my entire life. Now I'm almost 50, and i have health issues and can't work. I am constantly ridiculed, and it hurts more because it's coming from people who should have my back. You can only push through so much pain. I find myself alone crying a lot. I'm Gen x, I can't let them see it. I think that would only make it worse. I'm a survivor, i will find a way to hold on storms only last for so long, and then the sun comes back out. So have patience with others, you don't know their struggles.

Thanks so much mamacita! I see the downfall every day. Feminism isn't the same as it was during the fight for the right to vote. It's now just man hating and telling women that being a mother and raising a family is less admirable that being a "boss bitch". My husband and I knew we didn't want our kids in daycare. I'm extremely grateful to him for taking care of and protecting us, so that I can stay at home and home school the kids. I wish all women could (who want to).

@MrsRealistic
@MrsRealistic 6 ай бұрын
@@lukesouthworth9310 I feel that on a spiritual level. I'm hoping we can raise our kids to discern between good people with real values and those who don't care about love, respect and family. The fact that you're concerned about it means you're already ahead of the game. A lot of parents aren't involved in their kids lives, who they're hanging out with, etc and it shows. This is a huge reason why we home school. I know how much crap I learned that I shouldn't have, simply because of peer pressure, things my friends told me or introduced me to, etc. My parents didn't know any of my friend's parents and I pretty much had free reign at far too early an age. And that was a totally different time. I'm 48 and the things that kids have to deal with now are WAY worse than what we were exposed to. Our kids don't have free access to the internet, our 16 year old has a phone with no browser or ability to get online. It's simply for phone calls or if she wants to text us and they have no social media. You get one chance and you can't ever go back after they've seen something or interacted with the wrong person. I've seen young kids on Omegle when I've covered Harry mack videos... and their parents probably have no idea they're even on it. That's why Omegle got shut down, because of online predators interacting with children. 😳

It seems like Gen X were the last true vows taken. After us, it seems it has become a contract of convenience. In sickness and in health, richer or poorer is just filler words now. Social media is destroying society. Men are watching porn and women are watching women crying because they got ghosted lol. I got married in 2000. I meant the vows I took. I'm 47 and I see the younger generation and they are lost. Social media is raising the kids now. It's sad.
@MrsRealistic

@@GrandPitoVic Yup, I agree 100%... our kids have no social media and no phones with access to the internet. If they want to be online it's in front of us. Women are obsessed with botox, fillers, plastic surgery, purses, shoes etc...and just scroll through vapid, narcissistic accounts, comparing themselves to other women... and if their man can't buy them what those other women have, (because don't forget, they're "queens" who need to be catered to in every way...) then he's out. It's really sad. Let yourself age, and stop thinking your life's worth is based on how you look and what STUFF you have to show off to other women. My husband thinks it's ridiculous. He's told me that no man cares what purse a woman has, or how fantastic their fake nails are. Lol! I swear, all of that stuff, women do for other women!🤦‍♀️
