Re: letting kids play the game - My (then 12 year old) daughter was sitting with me when I played the Forgottens quest, and it lead to a really amazing conversation with her about depression, how it can affect people, how we might handle it, when we need to talk to someone, etc. Just because a topic might feel too heavy for kids, doesn't mean that it isn't an important, on going conversation that needs to be had. This is simply my opinion on the matter, everyone does what they feel is best for their kids and families, but I try to have a lot of mental health conversations with her. It's difficult being an adult in today's world, imagine how much harder it is to be a kid. ❤

I really could have used a game like DDV and the Forgotten's story as a very depressed teenager. To know I wasn't alone and it would be okay would have meant the world, because I wasn't getting that from my family. Stories like that are not inappropriate. Kids are deeper than most adults realize and they'll appreciate not only being seen as old enough and mature enough for those themes, but they'll learn from them too. There's a reason so many adults say that storyline is so healing for them.

I absolutely let my kids play DLV. That said, I don't think it's a children's game like a lot of people claim. It's E for everyone, but that doesn't mean its primary target audience is children. There was an interview early on where one of the devs said the target audience is young parents, so adults who need something to do with their small children around. I love this. More things need to be created for adults who are always around small children!

In what world is this game not for children? The target audience is "young parents" because they want adults with money buying all the in game purchases and they want to bank on your nostalgia. Gameplay wise, it's absolutely for children. Heck, I played more challenging games when I was 5! 😂

@@minatempes4151 I prefer to play and watch things around my children that are appropriate but not necessarily for them. Thats the target audience they’re trying to create for from what I’ve seen. I’d never say children can’t enjoy or play DLV, just that it’s not specifically for them, and nothing has to be aimed at someone for them to enjoy it. Also, in my experience, engaging in an activity that is labeled for children can cause others to act in unkind ways. This game was made with a wide variety of people in mind, no matter the target, and it minimizes it to label it for “only” children.

It's amazing to see how much DDV helps people mentally. I don't think many games have that + it has one of the best communities. Also _CozyJaney's_ Mulan area build looks beautiful

For the event question in the survey, I asked for having events to celebrate Diwali and Holi. Like we could have a "festival of lights" and "festival of colors", maybe for the lights we would get sarees, lehengas, dhotis, jhumkas, and maang tikkas, and there could be furniture like diya lamps, floating candles for the water, rangoli patterned rugs/tiles to place down; and for the colors we could get a white saree/lehenga/dhoti set and have an in-game event where you collect materials to make powder, and can throw powder at your villagers, at the end of the event you get a duplicate of the saree/lehenga/dhoti that has colorful powder all over it, maybe we'd get furniture pieces of the bowls of powder and a companion animal that's covered in colorful powder and leaves a lil powder cloud behind it like how the candy gator drops candy. It would be SO FUN, and would be events to do in the spring and fall that would fit into the current event schedule pretty well.

Yoooooooo a Stitch questline for Holi, where he is helping us make the powder, but sneezes and powder goes everywhere! We have to employ the assistance of Merlin to get all the powder off the ceiling. And then we get a dreamstyle for Stitch, where he is coated in colorful powder! You KNOW Stitch would absolutely jump at the chance to throw powder at his friends. He would 100% target his bff, Donald, probably with blue powder so that they match. It. Would. Be. Hilarious. Imagine having to track Donald's angry stompy footprints through the valley, with periodic areas where there are footprints all over (from a tantrum).

I am not a big fan of Star Wars coming to the game. When I think of Disney it’s not what I think of. I would love to see more villains such as Hades, Maleficent, Lady Termaine, and the Evil Queen. I thought cars was a good one but not sure how it would look with them in game. I think Mo from Wall-E would be good and Cinderella. If they are trying to catch up and level up characters giving gifts is the fastest way to do that.

Disney Dreamlight Valley and this amazing community, definitely helps me get through my depression/anxiety. I even started crying recently, after getting a lot of sweet and supportive comments on Dreamers Portal. After I’d told how my mental health had been bad, and therefore my Dreamsnap didn’t turn out how I wanted. 😿 Thank you for making me feel less alone, love you all 💜

Totally agree with the healing powers of DDV, I started playing while in the initial stages of grieving and it helped me SO much. A great game despite the many bugs lol and an amazing community to be a part of 💖

I’ve had the expansion pack since I first started playing, because you get a discount if you buy base game + DLC together (Gold edition) But besides the favourite gift thing, it hasn’t bothered me. I just started the DLC when I was more or less done with the base game.

idk if there is included in the video but i found a glowing fishing spot in my house haha, so instead of the moon they've replaced it with fishing spots, i've also noticed the invisible body, i was just a walking head and arms

DDLV has been a gift for me, too! It's one of the few new projects keeping classic Disney alive while Bob Iger (Disney's CEO) tries to replace it with woke ideology. This game lets me recreate the long-lost magic from Disney's movies, theme parks, and even Walt himself. Sometimes, I change my avatar to Walt Disney, and have him hang out with Mickey in my Magic Kingdom valley! ❤

My son plays this game and he's always asking us to play together. He loves decorating, farming, and messing with how his character looks. He started playing before he was in kindergarten and learned how to read and so I would sit with him and read everything. Now he reads it to me one year later. He honestly doesn't care about the main storyline, but he is like me and doesn't like having a million quests to do, so he completes them. Both my husband and I have been gamers our whole life, so I was happy to find a game that both my son and I could play together that was easy for him to understand since he can't play the games I usually play like the fallout series. His games were kind of limited to the pokemon series and Mario, but he is a fan of Disney too. DDLV has been a great addition for him.

Thanks for the video. My daughter does play DDV and she loves it. There are characters she knows and ones she does not know. Most of the quests I do for her, she is not into questing, but she loves the variety of pets. She loves taking pictures. She worked and unlocked Mulan on her own. It is a game we can play together. She loves valley visits and shopping at my Scrooge shop. I think it is a good game for kids. She used to play World of Warcraft when she was younger but only with me or her dad. Compared to WoW, DDV is a better game.

If parents dont let their kids play an E rated Disney game what would be more suitable...? Not allowing them to learn about emotions isnt protecting them its hindering their growth and they will be worse off when they have to encounter emotional situations they are less prepared to deal with.

I had 4 cakes stuck in that Moana area. Luckily they respawned the cakes, so I was able to finish the event, but I had already 3 cakes stuck again before I finished the last memory.

I definitely wouldn't get mad about the survey. Characters they didn't mention might well be ones already planned. And characters they did mention are clearly ones that aren't in the works, otherwise they wouldn't ask about them, ie. Star Wars. As for children playing, absolutely, kids can play. The devs did say the audience was young adult, but in media, young adult mostly means teens/tweens. So, children. And regardless, they also said they made it for everyone, including younger children. They purposefully said that kids were also their audience. It was never just for actual adults.

About kids vs. DDLV - well, maybe not precisely because I don't have a kid BUT this game is so pretty, chill and fantastical that I think it is a really good game for younger audience. besides, the other day I was laughing that I was playing two very different games next to each other - first I played some Witcher so very graphic, monsters, blood, swords game and then I went to Dreamlight Valley, which in this comparison was like a peaceful and chill, sweet haven game hahah 😂😂

This comunity is the best comunity i have come across. Other comunitys right now are a mess no mater what the game developers relese no mater if it is main quest or event. But this comunity are happy when uppdates comes. Abaut kids playing this game i would allow my nephew to play if i am allways sitting next to him to help him with english. Also Due to the risk of real money being spend without my nolige.
