@@katyhoney No, you can't move the machine, but you could travel to the island first then give a code out, so anyone would automatically join you on the island, or you can meet them at the portal and travel to the island together

It actually does work to an extent you would just have to figure out which area or areas to use for what I kind of started a random theme park like area up in my floating plaza area I just haven’t figured out where to place where yet since the floating islands you still have to leave walking space in order to navigate

The floating islands still do come with limitations like you can’t place any boats or certain other items. But at the same time they do kind of work for theme park like areas

Honestly when you look back a lot of things that don’t match with promotional art work so I wasn’t surprised. That said I am hoping that it will actually be a hint that in the future you will be able to add water even if just on the islands. But I feel that the water in the main biomes also made it difficult for decorating and the floating islands are more focused on freedom of decorating.

I love your videos. I bought the game and PS5 for my kids for Christmas last year and they never bothered playing it. I'm glad they didn't because it's honestly my only hobby. I'm obsessed with it now. Watching your videos has helped me through a lot of quests and even got me doing dreamsnaps. I hope they make some changes so we can move water bound housing to the islands. I really wanted to do a theme park with a toon town (and I REALLY wanted to yeet Donald and his temper tantrums out of my main valley.) Guess I’ll fall back on putting that in place in The Tangle over in Eternity Isle. On further reflection, that could be pretty cool.

Im gonna have to really think about how Im going to utilize the floating islands. I was thinking about storage, but I may just use it for decorating. You could also put different house skins and decorate around that. There's just tons of possibilities...

And my floating island ideas: plaza=sword in the stone vibes/stone statues/stone fountains/stone benches and books to go with Merlin’s library…frosted heights=winter wonderland…forest and sunlit plateau=still deciding what theme to create where but want an amusement park and villain island (wish we could move Mother Gothel and Jafar with other villains) 🙂

What a bummer you can't move the fruittrees and bushes on the Island as i really wanted to make my storage over there together with the trees and bushes. Like you i really hope they will change that in the near future.

That would look awesome and be so much more easier to gather everything when you need it just like I wish we could move all fruit trees and bushes from other expansions and place them in the same spot as the valley ones.

I think it would've been cool if each floating island had a few small islands attached to it by bridges. (sorta like the island with scar's house in promo) Just big enough for a house and a few decorations. It would make everything more visually interesting and would give more options for some houses or just a cute tucked away area. It would be a nice feature to add in the future. I would also like to see the water added back in and have the water furniture items be able to have lilies and such, like on the main valley (this might be a bug though). Lastly, I would like us to be able to place our main houses on the island, I want my very own island away from everyone. Overall though, I really like the floating islands and think it's a pretty great feature! :)

Something that's been super helpful for me is to put villager's houses on the floating islands until I'm ready to place them in the valley (I only have 3 biomes decorated)

I turned one of mine into a Hella of a garden. 8x8 grid of 6x6 plots. Each crop has their own 36 plots of growing space, and then after all those 47 plots were filled, I did full the rest with pumpkins. Has already come in handy with how many tomatoes I've used lately.

Multiple people on Facebook are saying when it rains it wasn't watering there plants. I have had it rain on the floating island but I use the ancient gardeners. I wish we could use more of them on there then 4 per island. I am sad too I can't move the berry bushes and tree up there as well

It feels like they designed the floating islands to be for decorating only and not anything that is used. I was hoping to move scrooges or tianas or even all of the goofy stalls there. I kind of get why since they can't go between the different maps. It will be interesting to see how they change it. I am using the islands to build specific areas for house that need their own area. And not Venallope,. she is president/queen of the forgotten lands for me.

Hence why we still need valley/biome presets. Floating islands are great but they didn't fully solve decorate vs snaps imo since might want multi lvl snaps or items we can't have on floating islands

So, I made a stage and concert on my plaza island with the last starpath items. Put the fireworks from that as well. Used it and--it kept making the fireworks noise and not stopping. No fireworks but sound still there. Next day it still was doing it! Had to remove the firework to stop it! Did this happen to anyone else?

The reason they got rid of water is because with it it wouldn't have been a sandbox version that they had promised. Far too many folks complained of ponds being in the way during builds. Also having Scar there makes no sense since the idea is that we can move whichever character and whatever structure there. Really really disappointed no crop trees, and no stores/restaurants - I feel like for a resource island - what's the point? I hope they change that, that's so disappointing. I want a place I can go to immediately to shop for items, get seeds, go to the restaurant, cook, craft and level up characters with gardening and such. Sad.

I'm going to put all the villagers on the islands and decorate there, because I can't handle my valley being decorated. Things end up being in the way, I hate when everything gets messy. The valley is for resources for me (I think I'm going to decorate a little bit, but only some plants and plaza (because of buildings that can't be moved). The valley is going to be a big garden basically xd

I was really really hoping to move the dreamlight and fruit trees to the islands. I am hoping they will remove some of these limitations in the future. I also hope they create a biome that is 100% rain free! This way if you are not in the mood for rain you can escape to that space. Or at least rotate the rain, this way it is not raining everywhere at once.

The snippet lure not working makes sense to me because those islands aren’t really meant for resource collection, which is why they give nothing when digging, etc..

130x130 minus the required spacing for the well. Maybe they will allow us to add water features like rivers later. If there are waterfalls flowing off the island, then where does the water go? From DV, we don't see waterfalls flowing off the floating islands

I wish they had left the water in. So many times concepts are shown in game previews, then when they hit game the image is something else which leaves us wondering if is was accident to take it out, or if it was teaser with the eg: water feature on the floating island. I don't care if I can't fish, the water would have made a nice addition rather than just a bar spot of land, which I do understand the main objective of the islands, which is to allow us to be as creative as we can, but why show water in the pre release then have it not in the actual release? Our is to wonder why

My island quest won't complete after putting merlin's library. It keeps telling me ti move it. I even took a picture of me and merlin on the island in front of his house with him telling me to move it. Also even after completing the whole dlc for rift in time my mickey during the end returned to color and now after the credits he is still black and white.

I am not sure why they removed the ocean border, perhaps there was issues they couldn't resolve in time for the release so they removed it. I pointed out that it was quite misleading. I am hoping that it is a feature that is developed on and that we do eventually get some water surrounding the islands. There are people that are apparently happy that it doesn't have water, but i personally would love to have some water there so we can move our water home residents

The fact that I can’t move Donald and toon town to the islands really makes it pointless for me. That was all I wanted. I need water where I can place houses. They were talking about moving all of our villains, but we can only move a few of the villains.

I think obviously the islands have nothing to do with the game play and stories of DLV only decorating. That's why they're so limited. But water is a major part of decorating. So it should be available.

I thought the point of the floating islands was so that people could create neighborhoods of character houses while leaving the valley free for decorations and places like the restaurants and stores. It seems to me that was the complaint that brought this about.

My valley villagers are all moving to the Floating Islands, going to decorate al the Floating islands. No night thorns, no spices, ToM also no problem. My Valley will be My place for Dreamsnaps! The whole valley is almost empty, real easy to find a blue chest or event items..

We need • Presets & Multiple Islands for the same biome • Streams (water) and a toggle to turn it on/off • Toggle to turn on/off this like Night thorns and Flowers in the Islands and Main valley • ORBS We need Orbs for Snaps ASAP🫨😶

@@mrStarInSky Oke so I found someting out. When I plant my crops with an ancient machine in the rain all the crops are watered immidiately not one by one the way it normally works. But not connected to an ancient machine they don’t get watered in the rain. So the plot thickens 🧐
