One more thing I wanted to say. I agree that everyone is free to vote however they like, I'm not trying to crucify or attack anyone. But everyone also has a right to express their feelings on the topic, and the whole point was to hopefully show how voting for "suckier" submission may not be the best for the community overall. I'll admit, I did get a bit upset about it and maybe a little heated, if I hurt someone's feelings I apologize. I'm very passionate about ddv community and dreamsnaps and I felt a need to defend it, because I want dreamsnap results to be fair for everyone. At the end of the day, you're right, it's not that serious and it's just a game. I do dreamsnaps cause I enjoy it, but I'm not gonna lie and say I don't secretly dream to get back in top 10 every Wednesday 😂

I try to vote for the best use of color. There's some really creative folks. I actually did this week's dreamsnap in my house so I wouldn't cause my object limit to go up. I'd been doing many outside of my house, but realized I was running out on space.

I personally didn't take it that way. I've seen so many of your KZbin videos and you been so kind to me in your discord channel you don't strike me as that kind of person to be offensive in any way. I also do agree, why put so much effort into a dream snap including learning how to do them and improve on them if somebody's just going to pick the one that's worse. I do believe voting with Grace and going by who has the best color, angle amount characters Etc and be fairest possible. However it's kind of sad to put so much effort into something that might be disregarded. I do notice some people who didn't put much effort into a dream snap or didn't stick to the theme that it was supposed to be and they get 4k that is frustrating but at the same time this kind of contributes to that. So I don't agree with what they're doing, it seems like they think they're being kind but they're just hurting more players even though their intentions are kind However free moonstones are free moonstones how my friends and I say it. It's okay to get frustrated but also remember you know you should be proud that you did your best and be happy you got something. :)

You have every right to get “mad”, I do that too. Because for a lot of us Disney Dreamlight Valley isn’t just a game anymore. To an extent it has literally saved my life! + for you as a content creator who does well basically only ddv videos, ddv is also a big part of your job. + Because of your premium shop showcase videos you do every week (thank you for that btw), getting a lower amount of moonstones for Dreamsnap also = you have to spend more money in the game TLDR: Getting mad at people voting for bad submission are totally valid, and ddv is so much more than “just a game”

After reading the comments, I wanted to clarify something. There is nothing wrong with people having unique tastes in Dreamsnaps, if you genuinely like simple shots over detailed shots, nothing wrong with voting for a simple shot. In my opinion the problem starts when people admit that they like the other shot more but vote for the one that's worse, because they feel they need help. There is no real way to tell if the shot was made by a kid, a new player or just someone who was only willing to spend 5 minutes on their dreamsnap. The only way to keep dreamsnaps fair is to vote on the shot you personally prefer. It may not always be the most grand and sparkly shot, but at least it was true to your personal preference. If you disagree, let's talk😊

Sometimes the simple shots catch my eye and I feel some shots are overcrowded. But always vote which one you as a player thinks is the best! Your second account proves that you don’t have to be a long time player to get 4000!

There is no way you can tell anything about a person who made a snap except through the effort displayed. Kids are not morons. They’re actually often better at expressing themselves artistically than most adults. We were all new players once. I agree, i always accept 300 or 600 or 900 moonstones, 1,200 or depend how much i earned and i am totally fine with it bec it help to increase my moonstones when i need it to save up and i had one time 4,000 moonstones. i am totally happy what i got bec it is best reward that i tried my best to earn it and i had so much fun for it. it is ok for skip one dreamsnap if i dont have idea like that.

I totally agree with everything you have said about people who are ignoring great submissions on purpose, but unfortunately, I have come across such comments multiple times. Some people say they always vote for the worst shot between the two, because they believe the good ones are guaranteed to get 4k so they want to give the other player a better chance, either because it’s a child or a newer player. Or some others who say that they won’t vote for submissions that have premium items, because they are obviously made by people who do well with DreamSnaps and get enough Moonstones to buy from the premium shop. And of course there are those, who pick a side - either right or left - before voting and they stick with it until they have finished the process. Personally, I find all those views ridiculous and it’s no wonder results are often messed up. I wish Gameloft came up with a better and more fair & transparent voting system.

I usually (I am not a child by any means- only by heart XD) go to a spot in my valley, plop some decor down, some lights, and then grab a character or get some in the shot. As a lazy dreamsnapper who has taken Graphic design class....I say do whatever you'd like with them yk, it's your dreamsnap... It's like art, if someone saw one of picassos works and didn't know who drew it then, sure it'd seem like a child made it, some one else may see it as the best thing ever. Photos are art, art should be appreciated no matter what :D

Dreamsnaps are made for the artists who play. I am sure there are specially talented or skilled people who put some of these together. But that’s the way the challenge is set up. I do ok with a couple of hours each week. But I’m retired so I can give that time. And I can usually create a pretty good photo are over a year of experience. Some people create masterpieces. We never talk about this aspect of the game. The folks who rank high week after week understand design, composition and color and have talent I don’t have. They make glorious creations. There’s nothing wrong with rewarding them for the beauty they create from a silly Disney game.

I completed agree. Voting for the worse submissions is absolutely pointless and is completely spiteful. People won't get better or learn more in Dreamsnaps just by giving it out of so-called pity. Thanks to tips by, for example Mr Star, I have learnt so much since it started.

I am so tired of seeing people saying this! Voting for the “bad” submissions is so cruel to people, who actually spend a lot of time on their Dreamsnaps. Especially since so many people just submit their Dreamsnaps to get their weekly 300 moonstones, and/or completing a Star Path task. There is absolutely no way of knowing if by voting on the “bad” submissions, you voted for someone who tried to make a good Dreamsnap or someone who just submitted something for the 300 moonstones. Personally I always vote for the better picture, and if I don’t think any of the pictures presented are good I skip/back out. + will often spend a lot of time backing out of pictures trying to find some amazing submissions, to ensure they get some more votes

I don’t like how everyone is just assuming the dreamsnaps that look worse are the ones with less effort put into them, someone can put a lot of work into something but it doesn’t turn out great cuz they haven’t gotten the techniques right yet. But yeah, voting for the worse looking dreamsnaps would create inaccurate feedback to those players, because if they only rank high due to a lot of ppl with this mentality, the submitters would wrongly think they did something right with their snaps and it doesn’t genuinely help them improve.

On dreamsnaps, I don't understand voting for the worst. I enjoy seeing the top notch snaps so much and if people vote for the worst, it will discourage those that put time and effort into it to get good results It is such a fun part of the game.

I wanted to add this. We were all new players once too it doesn't make a new person now more entitled. I remember doing a submission, for one of the early challenges called "Rainbows". An outfit challenge that I put tags in every slot I possibly could put a tag into (experimenting). When I won rank #1, reason being is because most others weren't understanding yet how tags or Dreamsnaps worked, but people took it personal and attack me in a live stream hosted by a competitor. I cried and cried. They made rude comments in a live stream, saying my submission didn't deserve it and that "so and so's" dreamsnap did. A little over a year later I have learned so much from that day to this. I know why those people were being unkind and very unfair. It was their lack of understanding, jealousy and entitlement. Now many submissions down the road, my own dreamsnaps has improved tremendously, though I've not had a rank #1 since then, but I feel that's okay because I just enjoy doing them like many of the rest do. With new people, fresh in the game, they need expect to take the time to learn first and not expect top results right away and that people should vote for whichever they feel is a good submission. Voting for the lesser submission over one that went the extra mile I don't quite get the reasoning for it, but that's me. Also, saying "it's just a silly game" well you have to remember too, it's a game with real emotions behind every post and words can and do hurt. We all should try to remember that one important thing. I think encouragement is key here to both new players and the veteran players when it comes to dreamsnaps.

Hi Mr Star, thank you for another interesting and informative video! 🥰I too have already destroyed my valley to start a clean slate for the next update, can't wait! I have to work the day it comes out but I have two days off afterwards 😁 I agree with what you said regarding the dreamsnaps voting, it's heartbreaking to know people may not vote for your submission if you come up against one that looks worse if they feel sorry for that person and give them the vote instead. I put my heart and soul into my submissions and hope they do well enough to catch peoples attention that they can see how much effort I put in and vote for mine so I am rewarded for my time and effort. When I don't get 4K it is because I felt I put everything into it and don't know what I did wrong to not get a better reward. I know sometimes people spiral and a simpler shot does better and that's understandable but also you should just vote for the best one. I wish we had a better ranking system not just 2 photos. Like we should get 10 photos and rank them from 1-10 instead of just 2 photos against 1 another

It's easy to get mad seeing someone try to "stop" you from "winning dreamsnaps" but honestly, the entitlement from someone who CONSISTENTLY benefits from being an influencer meaning people will automatically vote for your submissions when they see your username in the corner. You automatically have an advantage of thousands of people looking for your submissions in specific. You consistently get 4K on multiple accounts. You will *survive* if people like me are voting for people who are clearly kids, new players, or men who are at a disadvantage. And I'm gonna keep doing it even more. Maybe this community of constantly whining that they were robbed needs to have a slice of that famous Shane Dawson humble pie.

Im in a lot of DLV communities with hundreds of people who genuinely vote for snaps they like best. I dont put much worry into the loud 1 or 2% that are posting that they vote for the worse trying to jusitfy it or get more people on their side. I think majority of the people will vote for whatever dreamsnap is the most eye catching, so it doesn't really matter if some people vote for who they think they deserve it (low effort dreamsnaps). Some people might vote for whatever is the flashiest picture and some people vote for dreamsnaps which dont include premium items or whatever. It sucks a little for everyone that does put a lot of effort but there are no rules to voting or how dreamsnaps should look. It's personal preference. I also sometimes vote for dreamsnaps that are on theme but dont really look good (lightning too dark, some items put together, bad angles) because my mom plays this game too and I have seen her submissions and she said she worked on it for hours, but to you or other people it may seem like a low effort dreamsnap. Just remember not everyone is as good or has an eye for dreamsnaps and it makes me happy if someone who only gets 300 moonstones may ger 600 or 900 instead for once. Also I put in a lot of effort in my dreamsnaps but I don't feel bad if a lower effort dreamsnap would score higher than me. We should feel happy that some other people get a chance to buy something from the premium store as well.

You may be underestimating how very few votes each submission gets. Mr Star has been very eloquent in proving that it’s way way less votes than anyone would expect. Also there is actually one (if not a rule) then a specific guideline we are given by Gameloft: “Vote for the image you like better.”That can be simple or complex. On theme or off. Dark or light. But it is *very* clear that you should vote on the one you prefer.

I actually cannot zoom in on camera mode on the switch. I’ve tried it multiple times and it just won’t do it. The camera mode on switch is not as free range as it is on PC. So, I try to fill as much of the area around me as I can. I have both Timon and Pumbaa on the digging profession.

I have mixed feelings on Dreamsnaps. For starters, people should be voting on what you believe is the better submission between the two opinions. There’s no need to be spiteful just because it’s a “Grand” submission. My ONLY issue when it comes to Dreamsnaps is that these “Grand” submissions have definitely become the Token Submissions to earn votes, and i do genuinely believe people are immediately drawn to vote for it without really giving the other submission a chance. Also, it really doesn’t help when you have Content Creators showcasing the “Grand” submissions, but skip over the “basic” submissions. To each their own, but that’s why i spend very little time on a Submission, and i get what i get.

I do sorta understand the thinking because we have so many new players, that do not even have the biome unlocked and they need moonstones, seeing all the stuff and they don't have the items to work with. Many don't even have multiplayer unlocked, it is hard for newer players to compete against people who have everything. In that sense it is not fair, you can tell in some submissions where they are new and backgrounds show things from start of game. I don't find it fair for newer players because dreamsnaps started so much later in game most players had a ton of things, they never had to start from scratch making dreamsnaps like players now. It doesn't seem fair to say skewing the results when the results are already skewed in favor of players who buy everything, have everything. In that sense I do understand the sentiment.

I need help please!!! I haven’t been able to post dreamsnaps for weeks bcuz of “alleged” magic items in my village…BUT WHERE? I usually only use touch of magic on clothes because of this and the only place they are at the moment is in Daisy’s shop! Is that counting against me?!?! I cant even use the “hide touch of magic” option because that’s not working either. I’m losing out on moonstones every week and I’m pissed! It’s not like they ever give me a fair amount of moonstones anyway but I won’t even get into why I think that is 🤨

The hide TOM button only applies to furniture. So if you are wearing clothing or Daisy's Boutique is anywhere in the shot (even in another biome), it'll count against it. I had to move Daisy's Boutique to Dazzle Beach to take a picture from the Forgotten Lands as the shot I wanted was pointing towards Daisy's. Try moving the Boutique right to the opposite side of the camera view. Or place the Boutique behind the camera view. That worked for me

I am 1000% with you, that you should only vote for the pictures where people have put some effort into their dreamsnaps.. and the statement about kids is also playing: sigh have you EVER seen kids play and decorate?? they are so creative, some are even way better than most of us ( me included😂).. Also we ALL started in the beginning.. we have all had to gathered more items and had to be creative with what we got from characters, lights, scrooge store items or basic foraging items.. so i dont get the mindset of having to pick the suckier submission, just to make them get some moonstones, its like giving a bad worker a best worker of the month title, which to me doesn't make sense 😅, we all learned from our dreamsnaps and worked on getting better.. yes you will get some weeks where you get less than 4k, you may even get 900-600-300 so what, this is a trial and error process.. if you have a Dreamers portal account.. look at the first dreamsnap you made and look at your latest dreamsnap.. I'm 100% you will see a difference from when you started until when you got the hang of how to do dreamsnaps.. IF you have tried to learn from others creativity.. Also yes some may disagree with me, but if you want nice things you need to WORK for it.. 🤷‍♀ i also have items i haven't been able to get from premium shop, because i didn't have enough moonstones, thats life and then you also have items you can look forward to get later in the game when you have saved up enough for that item when it comes back

The chances of seeing a picture in voting, that you have seen anywhere on social media is sooo low. So content creators posting their photos beforehand does very little to the actual outcome of the voting + I follow another creator who is in the top 1k in Dreamsnaps almost every week, and very rarely shares his Dreamsnaps before the voting period ends.

I genuinely don't think it's that serious. And it's only gonna be serious the more it's focused on. Yes, rewarding effort is great, but no one is gonna agree on EVERY POSTION, and there are always differences of opinion in ALL THINGS. But the type of trolls who will see this video and run with it are gonna make it ten times worse. This is one of those things that people need to realize they need to pick their battles. I hope this trend of voting for the worse dreamsnap isn't too widespread. It's just sad. Like, people spend hours on their dreamsnaps just to potentially get down voted 😔 On a more positive note WOW that Last Unicorn Artwork by _u/Practical-Magic13_ is AMAZING, it's just crazy how creative people can be in this community and the Jungle Lodge Build by _u/HorribleGaming_ is beautiful too

If people have an issue with their score being dependent on their competitors and the voting methods that they choose then i feel taking that issue to gameloft would be a more productive way of dealing with their frustration than trying to dictate how other people should vote and how they should be making their dreamsnaps it's a game it's meant to be fun chill out 😂

Of course it’s good giving a chance to people who are struggling, but not at the expense of people who are clearly putting time and effort into their submissions.

Helping is one thing but by voting for the worse dreamsnap you are dis-crediting the time and energy that person put into their dreamsnap. People spend 1, 2 or even more hours making their dreamsnaps look good, spiralling and fixing even small details that almost no one will notice just to get voted down. LIKE WHY. I'm sorry but I can't agree with this. No offense

People who submit less good photos are not necessarily struggling. Some people prefer not to work so hard on their submissions.

Thank You!! I vote for snaps that speak to me when I take the time. If it's convoluted or ostentatious, I skip. I can vote HOW I WANT.

It only takes 1-2 minutes to get your 50 free moonstones. Voting randomly hurts people who spend a lot of time creating their dreamsnaps. It's worth it to take a minute to look & vote for your favorite. 😊
