Non interference engine. If the belt breaks it wont mess the head up. Helps to smear some copper seize on the dowel pins prior to assembly.

From where I’m sitting i have to ask would a large pair of water pump pliers on the pulley while using the pry bar help to lessen your misery? I had to add thanks for sharing this with us!

Possibly, but I like to go slow and steady as to not risk breaking or cracking anything.

@@MrSubaru1387 I have 2016 Outback Had replace the catalytic converter and replace the transmission. And after the replacement I’m seeing a small amount of oil underneath. I feel I bought me a lemon !!
