That was an excellent video Steve and wow look at the amount of water cascading down the valley. The bonus footage was just so awesome as were the rock formations.

Great little video Steve, picture quality was superb, you could see every little detail, but you missed a ten cent coin on the bridge, and a twenty a bit further on. cheers

That was a great video, Steve, I'd love to venture down to the bottom, not alone though, looks like a jungle down there. Interesting story of what happened and the waterfall at the end was great footage. Thank you again Steve.

I think that’s a carob tree,they feed it to animals. It’s very nice once it’s ready for harvest in summer. Another enjoyable video Steve. Thanks. Have a good day from down under.

I went right down to the botton once, WITH the help of friends AND a thick canvas strap. There were no railings anywhere but the bed was dry, so it was quite safe, but that amount of water flowing down is very dangerous. Large areas all around have been built up in recent years, so much more water drains down from the streets nearby.

Lovely video! The fire you mention was caused by fireworks during the local village feast. It was pretty devastating, and sadly it went unnoticed for a few days. That tree you pointed out at 7:42 is a carob tree, there’s lots of them in the area. You’ll also find Malta’s national tree is-sigra tal-gharghar. Like you say, you shouldn’t wander down to the bottom of Maqluba alone and you should go with someone experienced.

How beautiful and peaceful 🌳🌿🕊️ the only sound was the birds. Amazing how fast it regenerated after the fire. You could still see the scorch marks on the rock. Looks the kind of place that Pierre or Conrad would love to explore. Wow, that waterfall at the end Steve 😳 wouldn’t want to get caught in that!

That water used to continue to run down to Wied Babu before that sink hole was formed in medieval times.
@geologist32162 жыл бұрын
Didn`t have any idea about that Steve, the prevalence of `sinkholes` is more widespread than many people know about on Malta............for instance most of Rabat is in danger of being swallowed up , it`s all down to thee fact that the underlying rock is of `softer` composition and it erodes at a faster rate .

'Filfla' could not possibly be the top of a cave, and around the time that the cave collapsed there was an aggressive earthquake, it's believed that the earthquake collapsed it. Then afterwords would be when the rushing water further changed Il-Maqluba.

QUITE A BEAUTIFUL PLACE AND OF NATURAL IMPORTANCE 🎄🌿 🦎. Amazing how nature regenerated after August 2018 fire🔥 which they say started by a stray petard from St Mary's Feast celebrations 🎇.
