Sorry I had just posted a comment about videos such as this. I just now saw these. Thank you. I'm Learning so much just from watching your videos alone. I'm just now starting out!

I am a new tie dyer. I started when I wanted to tie dye my son's bed sheets, but I knew I better learn how before I tried. Your videos have been extremely helpful, and I'm actually pretty good at it. My colors have remained so bright, and thanks to you, I've learned some great patterns and techniques. I am now starting to catch the eyes of people around me, and have been asked to do some custom dyes. Thank you so very much! I will keep watching. Sarah Perry

@@MrTieDye It came out better than I imagined. The "O" was pretty tricky, but flawless. This is perfect for a shirt I'm making- all the letters you used spell my daughter's name. So now I can use your video to help me do a design for her. So thank you, man! 🤜💥🤛

awsome video !!! I have a suggestion for a video if you don't mind, can you make a video on where you get all your dyes and what dyes you use and what's the best to use and how you get your shirts. you should also feature all of your work and your personal favorites.

I have some thoughts on doing a video series and slowly work through the folding of all of the letters of the alphabet, BUT, I will not be putting dye on them as I do not think I can sell tees with just one letter on them .... OR, I may come up with more words I can do to try and include as many letters as I can ... so yes I will do something soon :-) thank you

I teach mostly through these videos and answering of questions .... so to start with, have you done tie-dye before? if not then here is a good place to start : kzbin.info/aero/PLMEtBqB2BzuquDrHsqxbv8LdFkaIyy3wo if you have then, I have many playlist full of videos... try some of them out and ask questions if you need to ... I get in here and answer them as I have time ..... OR, you can find me on FB or IG and ask there... also, FB has many tie-dye groups and I belong to most of them so I can answer questions there as well.... I hope this helps... have fun exploring with tie-dye !!

I’m loving these videos, I plan on using the simpler videos to show my students some folding techniques. I do have a question I’m hoping you may have the answer to. I know that shirts need to sit for at least 4-12 hours to develop, but how long can they sit? Our class is doing our shirts on Friday should they be ok to sit over the weekend so the kids can do the big reveal on Monday, or should I take them home and get the dye out before then.
@john9419965 жыл бұрын
He usually let's them sit outside in a box for 2 days, so i dont see why you couldnt do an extra day to let them rinse and reveal the design
@MrTieDye5 жыл бұрын
thank you for answering this question
@MrTieDye5 жыл бұрын
Thank you, I am glad to be of help and yes, I leave mine to batch for 48 hours... this gives the dye more time to set up and makes the wash out a bit easier as most of the dye is spent after 48 hours ..... and I have left them sit a whole week when I went on vacation
@chianne02295 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I just couldn’t see letting them do the dying and not get to do the big reveal.

I have a question totally unrelated to this video .. how can I get almost pastel colors? Can I add more water to what I have made up? Or should I start over and add a small amount of dye? Thanks in advance!! 😊
@MrTieDye5 жыл бұрын
you can do it either way ..... I have filled a bottle most of the way with plain water and then added some liquid dye I already had mixed ...... this is easy to do a 'test' by dripping a coupe drop on white paper towel to get an idea of the shade.... so you can test full strength and then your mix to see the difference ....... and I have added just a tiny bit of dye powder to my water from the start ....
