Andy Falco, John Stickley, and Billy Strings jamming together is absolutely face meltingly joyful. Wish these three would share the stage more often. They are the best, each a genius in his own right. Can't get enough of this!

anyone know what the little boxes between the cable and mic are? Like a stand mounter pre amp or buffer or something?
@babyzenon4 жыл бұрын
Its called a D. I. box, Stage Box, or Pre -amp box. Can be active with a battery and pre=amp or Passive to boost the signal. Just Google them for full specs.

I'm sorry if your ancestry comes from slavery. I cry about that. I am female. White. Treated like shit, a thing not a person, as a matter of course . I'm maybe going to a place, tomorrow, where humans were first sold as property in this country. It SUCKS! Don't trivialize please! This version Of Deep Ellum Kicks Ass!!! Why do you want to take the shine off with your label, whitest? If ya go down to Deep Ellum...ya gotta put your money in your shoe...fuckit these guys are amazing, and yes I'm aware they don't sing that verse.

Saw the Stringdusters years ago at a small brewpub in southwest Michigan. The last hour or so of their set they came down off the little stage and played in the middle of the floor without any amplification, and we all stood around them and marveled at the incredible musicianship. Not sure how long ago, but the dobro player had no grey hair, and they had a wonderful mandolin player. One of the most astounding shows I have seen.

Ever notice how like 75% of flatpickers have gone to playing mahogany dreads? They cut through better, seems to me. I still dig rosewood, though - pre-war D-28s are hard to beat.
@TShawsProgressiveBluegrass4 жыл бұрын
Ironically since this video was taken all three have switched to rosewood, and Falco an OM. Go figure.
@daveguitarnowski44024 жыл бұрын
I got a cedar top Takamine. It has some great qualities. Cutting through might not be one of them. Nice sound, though.
@belascialoja48124 жыл бұрын
@@daveguitarnowski4402 - Cool. I like them, too. In 2010, I got a second-hand Taylor 614c, was red cedar on _maple_ , and was a really loud guitar, good for chord playing, AND soloing, & fingerstyle... Banjo Ben has one, might have a spruce top -- super loud guitar, uses it in his older flatpicking tutorials. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mJ-zfqiNf7B8nZY (Btw, I love Takamines!)
@daveandpentarnowski45174 жыл бұрын
@@belascialoja4812 mine's cedar on rosewood. It's one of the Supernatural series. TAN15C, if I recall correctly. I'm not much of a flatpicker in the bluegrass sense, so I'm not sure how it stands up to that sort of abuse lol.
@belascialoja48124 жыл бұрын
@@daveandpentarnowski4517 - Oh yeah, cedar topped rosewood guitars can be awesome. That's the Taylor 710ce standard, and it's gorgeous-sounding. You can flatpick those, but I guess for the full-bore, Billy Strings-level ass-kicking bluegrass, you need an Adirondack spruce top. On rosewood or mahogany, maybe. I have a classical guitar that's cedar & rosewood, is a beautiful-sounding guitar.
