This video speaks to me. Got a new horse trailer and blew out the back window. Didn't even think about it when turning a U turn. I also didn't think about completely clearing the cab with the extention that way! Thank you very much, sincerely Mega Cab owner haha

Where do the safety chains hook up at in that bed? I didn't see any lugs for them in the camera shots

I think it was the puck system, they would have been flat until you put the pucks in. The truck was just to size up the gooseneck extension, we didn't go anywhere

@@MrTruckTV that's why I was asking haha, I didn't see the little blanks when you were measuring in the bed. Not trying to be tow police on your prop, just seemed weird to have the ball with no anchor points.

How come you don't measure at an angle where the corner of the trailer is closest to the truck?

Looks like you are measuring at the wrong point in the bed. If you had a 12" extension on the trailer, wouldn't the nose of the trailer be closer to the tail gate?? Even if you are measuring from the side? Looks like your 3 marks in the bed need to be 12 inches closer to the tail gate, then you have even more room between the cab and the trailer. :)

I have a trailer with issues because I had it built originally for a short bed Chevy, and now I have a long bed Chevy. Where I find the biggest problem is tagging the bed sides on turns where the ground is not level. The nose of my trailer is shorter than your standard 8'2" you quoted. :)

The problem we solved wasn't how close to the tail gate the trailer was, but when you turn a corner, what hits the cab to the trailer nose was the problem to be solved. Yes the trailer moves back toward the tailgate, but the impact is from the side. To move the trailer farther to the outside away from the truck bed is the solution. On a 12 inch extension, turning a corner, now the railer is 12 inches farther away from the truck cab. And now you can also so how close the gooseneck wing gusset is from the truck bed rail. On horse trailers, especially aluminum, they have a big triangle wing gusset that can hit the bed rail if the extension is too long like a 16 inch.
