The apps he used took away the notch, not Arun! In many cases it's up to the developers to allow for including the notch as their app runs. I know in some the user can choose, and for the rest it would have used a little more juice to push those pixels that were not included in the test.

rikson pereira Lol the Samsung S9 Plus beat the IPhone X in Antutu Benchmark by a lot which means that the GPU on the Samsung S9 Plus is a lot better. Also the Geekbench on the Samsung S9 Plus was nearly as high as the IPhone X. So that means that the CPU is a bit more powerfull on the IPhone X but the GPU is a lot more powerfull on the Samsung S9 Plus.

Charlie Tran I have the S9+ and I can't recommend it enough, on top of it being way cheaper than the iPhone X it has a better battery, larger and better screen, more RAM and graphics performance, customizable, and still as lightning fast as the iPhone X. In my opinion the iPhone X is a rip-off, sure it may have the A11 chip which is very powerful but it lacks in ALL of the reasons mentioned above.

Depends on what iPhone you have. If it's 7 or below, I'd switch. If it's the 8, 8+, or X, I'd save my money. Well, if it's coming with that notch then it will be a lot less interesting to me than the 5T, the 5 looked a lot like iphone 7 and i really hated the way it looked and now OP6 wanna be a iPhone X look alike, but yeah it may beat the S9+ in battery drain test. But at the end of the day, these test results doesn't always translate to real life usage and i think for most people the OP5T will last them longer than the S9+, it's not a bad thing though, Samsung offers a lot more. I make tech contents in a difference style. If you can spare some time please do give it a try.

I find it kinda interesting how the amount of RAM developed over only a few years. When the S6 launched in 2015 it had 3Gb of RAM. The S7 had 4Gb and so had the S8. But with the Note 8 the RAM increased to 6Gb. And the One Plus 5 has 8!!!Gb of RAM. We went from phones with 3 Gb to phones with 6 or even 8Gb of RAM in 2,5 years (launch from S6 - launch from Note 8, but the OnePlus 5 came even earlier). Tbh that is sick. The coputing performance in benchmarks are pointless and very bad way of deciding if a phone is good or not. Cause instead of making abetter phone the developers will try to optimize the phone for benchmarks instead of user experience. See browser benchmark wars as a reference, where some shitty browsers performed well on benchmarks but their realtime performance was shit.

Truer words cannot be spoken about geekbench but in reverse. Not only is Geekbench extremely poorly optimized, it literally runs at least two different benchmarks performing a different set of instructions differently to one another. At least one for IOS and one for all other platforms. There may be even more variations but I haven't looked at the code that deeply. Once I saw the initial differences, I just gave up. This is one of the main reasons why you see these impossible situations where it indicates an A10 or A11 outperforms an X86 chip with better IPC, that's clocked higher, and with the same number, or more, cores when every other benchmark and real world, actual, valid testing proves unquestionably otherwise. It's one of the most nonsensical things that people still run that stupidity.

Standby time is where I put my money. I hate to loose battery while I am not using it. Android have sucked over the years for me when it comes to standby time. Would be interesting to see how these devices compare when it comes to standby time.

Yeah, thats the thing these kinds of tests can’t simulate. Because iPhone tend to have way better standby time, they might win real world usage type tests. The only Android phone that made me go “wow” to the standby time was surprisingly the LG G5.

Nice test. ^^ But I'm still getting Note 8 because I mainly use it for drawing, reading and messaging, not for games, social media or any other power consuming activity. I keep it shut while I'm working and sleeping (for about 14-16 hours a day) so battery life is not big issue for me.

The reason it doesn't run at that res is battery savings and you won't see much of a difference at that screen size. Also, yeah crappy UI. But it's Android so who cares?
