i’ve set up an external footswitch for bank up/down switching, but when i click it, it starts scrolling the banks crazily. what am i doing wrong?

You didnt do anything wrong, the switch is the wrong type. You need a normally closed switch. What you have is probably a normally open switch.

Might need to change the polarity so it's not normally closed.

So it is possible to use de external foot to assign more presets? Like using a ms-7. Can i instead of have presets 1 to 4 in the ms3 i have 6 presets? Is that possible?

Ok, I followed the procedure exactly. But instead of the FS-7 I have the Boss dual FS-6, which has 3 inputs: A, A&B, B Plugging a TRS cable into A&B doesn't work. Then I tried a three-end cable that has 2 mono plugs and 1 TRS. One mono end to input A, the other to input B and the TRS end to the MS-3. It doesn't work either. While I get a FS-7 I found a solution for mysel using limited number of banks, because with this option you go up until you reach the last Bank and return to the first choosen I had a Boss FS-5U (latch) footswitch. Put polarity towards the input jack side and use a regular patch cable In my case and for now, I am only using 2 Banks, then first I limited how far the banks go up before returning to the first MENU: PLAY -(Page 2) - BNKMIN 01 - BNKMAX 02 PREFERENCE - Page 4 > set CTLIN 3 and CTLIN 4 to System (or 1 and 2 of your choice) Then EXIT to return to the PLAY screen, press EDIT Go to last icon CTL, then select CTLN3, set Bank minus (-) - toggle - off>on ..and CTLN4 set Bank plus (+) - toggle - off> on So, each time I press the FS I rotate between BANK 1 and 2 This same procedure if you use more than 2 Banks

Have the MS-3.... just ordered the fs-7.... I plan on using the fs7 for a dedicated bank up/down but there's something I don't like about it as I watch the video.... it looks like when you go up (or down) a bank with the fs7 footswitch, it automatically selects the patch on that bank without being able to choose which patch. For example, if you're in bank 1, patch 1 and want to go up to bank 2, it will automatically select bank 2 patch 1 instead of letting you choose which preset... am I correct in this? If so, that's weak! I'd much rather see the bank go up (or down) when the fs7 is used, and then press which preset from that bank I want to load.... make sense? Can this happen?

So do we have to assign EVERY SINGLE PATCH to the control out for bank up and down? You can’t be serious? Why can’t we set this once for all patches??

No, the point of going into global preference editing and changing CTL IN3 and CTL IN4 from PATCH to SYSTEM is to make footswitch work to change banks from any patch.
