The Dreamcast version also has the most crisp sounding audio. It sounds studio quality. PS1 sounds decent, and N64 is very compressed sounding butchered to other versions. Another interesting note, N64 don't play the full songs but Dreamcast does. The PS1 and N64 versions are also missing songs. Ms. PacMan: Maze Madness also had a planned PS2 sequel which was quietly announced and quickly cancelled.

Typical N64 audio workaround. I remember playing Tony Hawk on N64 and all the songs were like 10-15 second loops. The worst was Jerry Was A Racecar Driver; I love Primus, but the developers cut the audio in the wrong spot, so it doesn't even loop properly!

Actually, there is a removed soundtrack played in the Temple of Dots (3rd level) called "Cleopactra 2". I think it was meant to be played in those levels because it suits the scenery in Temple of Dots and it also is a perfect "void" to fill in the gap when almost every world had 2 songs. (Yet the desert world only had 1)
@SomeAngryGuy19972 жыл бұрын

I loved this game as a kid, and playing the multiplayer mode with my family was probably the most fun I had playing a game as a kid. I never knew what the witch blocks were until now, because I never had a memory card for my PS1 so I would have to start over every time, so I got pretty good at the early levels, but the later levels always scared me, and my older sister was really good at the game so she would get to the final boss, I don't know if she went back and went through the witch blocks

If you enjoyed the concept of “Ghost tag” then get your hands on a copy of Namco museum for the DS, and a couple of buddies with DSs and play “Pac man Vs.”. In the beginning, a player is randomly selected to be Pac man, and the other players are Blinky, Pinky, etc.,etc.. Then you play it like basic Pac man, but if someone tags you, a new round is started and the guy who tagged you is now Pac man. Your total of dots is counted as you play matches in 4-6 different mazes (can’t remember the exact amount) and the 1st to collect the selected amount of dots wins. I had fun playing this with my cousins for hours.

This game is one of my favorites and I think your review was great. I've only played the PS1 port but it was fine enough I think. Then again, I'm not really one who gets all bothered by the technical stuff. So long as it plays well enough, I'm good LOL I agree, the soundtrack for this game is bloody awesome. You know a soundtrack is a good when the songs stick with you for well over two decades. Seriously, the theme for "Cleopactra" and "Crystal Caves", those two themes stayed stuck in my head from when I was a kid when I first played this game. Definitely one of the best video game soundtracks of all time in my opinion. I also agree that the game would've benefited from more boss battles, I mean the presentation for the game was already stellar and they could've created some awesome world themed bosses. Anyway great review and looking forward to your review for Pac-Man World 2!

Ah, this makes me feel so nostalgic. One thing you forgot to mention is that Maze Madness is incredibly easy though. Even on my first run as a kid, I could get to the first chinese stage with like 30 lives (not an exaggeration). No backtracking to farm lives, not avoiding losing lives. Something curious is how Ms Pacman got a better game than Pacman again. The original Ms Pacman bested the original Pacman, and Maze Madness did the same to Pacman World.

Oh... THIS game. I've wondered about this for years. I have Ms. Pac-Man: Quest for the Golden Maze, and I kept getting the names mixed up. I'm also seeing similarities here to Pac-Man: Adventures in Time, like the ghost costumes, the levels based on other cultures, and even the multiplayer component is virtually identical, except that in Adventures in Time, it's actually even WORSE! Oh, and "Da Bomb" is called "Time Bomb" instead.

I can’t wait for you to get to World 2! Heard some of it’s superb OST there in the end if I’m not mistaken. ;) It’s really a great time though. It even gets pretty tough near the end too. Sure that’s partially because of the awful camera, but I still think it’s a very good title. Probably the best in the series if we’re being honest. Never played World 3, but heard it wasn’t that great...
