I would love to convert my Milwaukee chainsaw to a rim sprocket system. Still have not found a way to do that

I am doing the same conversion on a CS 590. Will all rim sprockets fit on the archer or are there different patterns where the rim sprockets slip on the hub. Thanks and I like the tool you made to remove the E clips

The inside of the rim sproket is the same on ms170 ms 180 and ms311 and guessing it's the same on most saws

You didnt notice that original sprocket is 6 teeth, and that new one is 7 teeth???180 is too weak for 7 teeth

Thanks for your comment you are correct yes the original clutch drum has 6 tooth sproket, you can't get floating 6 tooth spoket. And I am also using .050 gauge bar and guess what really can't notice any difference. The saw don't bog down at all. I use full chisel chain. Even my MS170 has same setup 16 inch stihl bar but .043 gauge and works well. I only use these small saws for cutting small timber say 100mm wide. The original sproket is 30mm dia the new one is 35mm 15% bigger. Faster chain speeds torque but as I said really did not notice it. I don't abuse my saw they never bog down as I take it easy.

I believe you but here in Croatia that would work for fresh, green wood but if it is dry wood 180 would bog a lot

@Milan Biskup yes can that happens. The worst tree you can cut is a palm tree it fills the saw bad and bogs down really bad. Palm tree is very wet inside. Yes here our eucalyptus trees are very dry compared to many other species of trees 🌳
