MSC Drinks Package Review | Is It Worth £66 PER DAY?

Just finished listening to your video guys - I got totally confused with the tech today for some reason, I thought I was joining one of your live chat? Im not sure in the end if I was or not - so, stoped and have just watched the re-run now. We love the MSC premium extra drinks package, but have never paid the 66 per day price, as we have always had it as part of a cruise deal, paying as little as 17pp day or at most 25pp per day - so, always AMAZING value. It infuriates me in Hola, for all the reasons you said regarding the frozen Margarita's, but to be fair to them, the twice we have been, the specialty dining manager has authorised the Hola staff to allow us to have them for free - which we did really appreciate. My favourite cocktail with MSC currently is the MSC Signature Martini, its absolutely delightful - vodka, dissarano and liquor 43...soooooo good It does blow my mind about the rob the robot drinks..dean got one, apparently they have 4 designs of cups, so now he has two of them! He will never , I would imagine use the cups again..but over 20euros with tax!!! madness. Not being able to just pay the additional charge above your package price for any drink outside the range is also another aug bear for me, but I console myself with the fact that I can drink from a huge selection anyway, and always find something I like. MSC have been one of my fav drinks packages, but I do wish they would do a package which included drinks and wifi and gratuities like princess possible anyway - I have waffled....again Hope you guys are ok and thanks for another great post Terry x

Oh no Terry. Sorry for the confusion. Next live Q&A is on Sunday 2nd April at 5 pm. The premium package at 17 or even 25 pppd is an absolute bargain. You could get that value in just two drinks easily. It's nice that the restaurant manager had the discretion to do that, it should be inclusive anyway so they didn't have to. Such a weird choice to have one drink not included. We are with you on the Signature Martini Terry. We had one and it was amazing. For us so far there is only Princess Premium and Cunard's that come close to the package, not sure which we would give the top prize to. @@SuiteNatured ahhh dont apologise Linzi and Mark, it was me. We bought everything we needed to make the signature martinis, thought we got a real bargain too with the liquor 43 @ 25 euro. However, dean told em today, Tesco have it for £18.00 at the moment on offer lol - oh well. I haven't tried Cunard but absolutely - Princess so far for me take care lovely people, Dean says Hi right back to you x

Hi guys thanks for all the information my friend and I are doing the Norway tour on iona and we are not heavy drinkers so we will pay as you go as you did .we will also shock out the bars you recommended. Great video, very informative. We've only done the P&O Ultimate drinks package so far, so it is good to see how MSC compare for potentially our future trips 😉

Thank you, glad you enjoyed it. The Premium Drinks package is a big improvement over P&O Ultimate one, but it is a lot more money IF you pay full price. MSC have very regular offers where the Easy/Easy Plus package is included in the fare, and you can upgrade to the Premium one for as low as 17 euros a day, which makes it a bargain. Linzi & Mark

Random question - have you guys upgraded your cameras recently? The quality pulling through in some of the shots in this one is remarkable! MSC packages - I usually tend to book when the 'premium extra' package is included, as the selection included in that fare is just SO impressive - the fact champagne is available on there really is excellent!

Hi Fraser. Final countdown for your trip now. So excited for you. We were using an iPhone 14 Max Pro for lots of the shots, some with the DJI OM5 gimbal. One or two on an Insta360 x3 too. On the package quite a few people have shown us they got the premium extra package for just £17 pppd as an upgrade because they got the easy plus package included. What a bargain that is. Can you remember what days had special evenings (e.g gala night, white party etc)? And also, was the thermal area on the spa in full use yet, or did you have to book a time slot? Hi Jessie. Thank you so much, so glad you enjoyed them. You are going to love Yacht Club. On the two questions. Thermal spa. You can go as often as you want but you do need to book. They do it in 2 hr slots. So if you wanted 4 hrs you'd just do a back to back. You can book at the Spa or in Yacht Club concierge. Everything in the area was fully open. On Gala Night. We had elegant night (where you dress up as much or little as you like) and white night. Elegant was on night 3 of our cruise and white night was night 6. And if the butler service means, i could order for exaple; choclade strawberrys and it is included in the yacht club price. Hi Moonshine 😀 We are so pleased you are enjoying our videos. Apologises if we have misunderstood the question. On Ice Cream, weirdly, outside of the Yacht Club dining, it is not included, not even on the top drinks package, but soft scoop ice cream is included on the cheaper, non-alcoholic package. For things such as Chocolate Strawberries. You will get every day, some lovely edible goodies brought to your room, usually, around 4 pm. On one occasions these were Chocolate Covered Strawberries. We also saw them multiple times in the Yacht Club Top Sail Lounge self serve area. We can't say that your butler would bring you some down for definite, and not charge you, as we didn't try it, But there is no harm asking them, they will tell you, and hopefully bring you some too. We have heard from quite a few people who had the Easy/Easy Plus included in the fare, as part of an offer and then given the change to upgrade it for between 17 and 26 Euros per person per night (so around £15), which is an absolute bargain. At that price is becomes a 10/10 package Linzi & Mark

Hi Nigel, WOW! If that is the case for the premium extra package, it is absolutely worth it. Out of interest, are they including the Easy Plus one with it as a bonus inclusive, and giving you the chance to upgrade to that? If so that would be similar to what we had on Princess last year, we had the Plus package included and then could upgrade to Premier for £20 a person a night, which was well worth it for us. Hell no! But it IS worth the £31 PPPD, for the Premium package, sold by travel agents along with the cruise package!

@@SuiteNatured Thing is, not even the late Oliver Reed, could get value from the price MSC themselves are charging! Its ridiculous! You would need a bare minimum of 7 drinks, per day, to get even close to breaking even!

£66 is more than worth it. Lets say A good cocktail is worth £9 or £10 each. you make that easily after 6 drinks..
