A friend of mine had a 1965 Biscayne with a 283. We had a lot of fun in that car way back then.
@gordocarbo18 күн бұрын
Straight 6 and 283s seemed to be the most common on those cars. Love the styling of all the 60s mid and full sized cars. even the corvair! Why mfrs make cars and trucks that look blander and goofier ea yr is beyond me. One reason Ill never sell my 67 El. Cant replace it with stupid prices.

Too much commentary for me. Im cool with nothing but engine sounds Love the wing windows for function and looks...I can never seem to get them to seal perfectly, always whistling a lil haha

You can drive it on “cold” and it was a green light when on , no warm up was necessary in normal driving

True! Not sure what the facination is with all the cold start videos today Ones that feature EFI cars make no sense to me. Not sure what the big deal is like its a miracle an old car with a choke could start immediately?haha

My first car was a hand me down 4 door 1965 Biscayne that came with a 327, 2.02 heads, a 4bbl carb and a three on the tree shifter. The interior had police and taxi seats that could handle all beverage and body fluid issues a high schooler might encounter. My parents didn't order any high performance add ons but maybe the high altitude where it was delivered had something to do with that (7,000 feet). I went though many clutches and transmissions and the local home boy trans shop would throw in whatever gears they had laying around so the speedometer could not be trusted. Where the Impala had a tach, my Biscayne had a factory vacuum gauge. The factory AC was very cold. I did have a pushrod knock a hole in a rocker arm and get stuck there. It still ran but had a loud backfire. The pushrod didn't even touch the valve cover. I took the rocker arm with the pushrod wedged on it to the local Chevy parts counter and said, "I need a new one of these". Everybody in the shop came to look at it.
@gordocarbo18 күн бұрын
Never seen that tach, wow that is so cool. Not worth selling, keep it! Never geeked out about specs, numbers match etc. If the car is real or a clone dont matter to me. Beauty of a BB is even with a cam you can get away with taller gears for fwy driving and it STILL pulls hard. Sticky tires, deep gears for Fri night hell yeah!
