Get started quickly with the CRJ 700 in this easy to follow Buy it and Fly it tutorial. I will teach you everything you need to know to fly a basic flight in just over an hour, as I fly Air France HOP! flight 7503 from Toulon-Hyères to Paris Orly, following real-world procedures.
By starting in the turnaround state, we are able to skip a number of checks because we can be absolutely certain of how the aircraft is configured. Aside from this, I strive for realism throughout. To keep things as easy to follow as possible, I show you what to do and when to do it, but I leave out complex explanations of the whys and wherefores of what I'm doing.
I would encourage to use this video as a first step. There is a lot more to learn about this aircraft than I can show you in an hour. Once you've mastered the basics, build upon what you've learnt with the excellent manuals and The Dude's fascinating and detailed Come Fly with Me series (kzbin.info/aero/PLk....
NB: Since publishing this tutorial, I have been advised that LFTH is missing from the sim by default, so you either need the payware scenery below or this freeware to follow along with this route: flightsim.to/file/4228/lfth-t...
Routing: LFTH/23 JULEE2E JULEE DCT MRM UM976 PIBAT PIBAT9W LFPO/25

@@bmw_m4255 It doesn’t need any music, filters nor any crazy effects. I came for a full in depth tutorial not a music video/epic montage where I can barely hear/see what he’s doing. A tutorial is meant to be easy and straightforward, and I understood every single part he did, I was no distracted. Clicked on the video to gain knowledge, left the video with knowledge. Exactly like a tutorial should be.

Great video as always, a good resource for first time fliers of this jet. I must admit even after watching The Dude's video course the depth of this CRJ mod had my head spin a bit on my first few flights, so this fly-through was great for cutting through the clutter. Here's hoping developers are looking closely at this mod for a clue to how much more realism we appreciate in more study-level aircraft. Much appreciated!

This is such a complex plane - but i love it. Bought it today and tried the tutorial once...took me about 40 minutes just to take off....the descent was a loss....no TOD, no ILS capture and a very bumpy manual high-speed landing (all of which was my fault). I love this tutorial - whilst The Dude is very thorough in his videos, its good to know the basics, and then add the detail once you have that down. I am going to try your flow from the turn around (also need to sort out some views - found I was turning switches every time I zoomed in or out). Great tutorial - well done. Look forward to seeing you stream some live flights now :)

Finally an aircraft I actually have to learn. Though, the only issue I have is with throttle response. The N1 indications don't match what the throttle levers are doing. I pull back a little, and they creep up. I add throttle and N1 rolls back. The VR throttle levers match what my physical throttle is doing. This is making speed management difficult. Cruise speed is apparently capable of mach 0.8 right at redline.

I've been through this tutorial several times now and it has helped me tremendously but I find that I need to keep referring back and forth as I fly to fully understand what is happening, why and where the switches are etc. By no means a criticism at all, as Your video is fantastic for me and others, but this is just what I personally need to do to fully implement. As a result I have gone through very slowly and noted all the salient points step by step and typed 12 pages of comprehensive tutorial notes for myself and a wingman in the Sim. I believe it may help others and will share it on Google Drive or similar with your permission. I have given you full credit for the video tutorial and of course am not looking to commercialize anything but simply add helpful notes. Brilliant tutorial for newbies at jets like myself. Thank you.

@FilbertFlies
@FilbertFlies 3 жыл бұрын
This aircraft doesn't have coupled VNAV. Essentially, what I do in this tutorial with the vertical speed control is to follow the VNAV path, which is indicated by the snowflake on the PFD. I believe coupled VNAV is an option you can turn on, but which only the newer CRJs (the 900 & 1000) have in the real world.

@FilbertFlies
@FilbertFlies 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! How do you mean to work together? V speeds and altitude hold are not linked. Before takeoff, set your desired altitude. After taking off, accelerate to V2+10, then engage speed mode. Dial the speed up to 250 below 10,000 feet then 290 above it. Follow the flight directors (or engage Autopilot) to climb to your cruising altitude at the speed you have set. Then the aircraft should level off at the altitude you have set, and from then on you managed the speed using the throttles.
