@@Flyer0245 Had to pause during approach to comment exactly what @Jennernuwen32 said. MSFS got me into flighsim, been trying how to learn how to fly correctly. Started with zero knowledge before msfs. Must have spent up to one hundred hours or more watching guides and tutorials over-and over again to increase my knowledge. Then The dude enteres the room. You have a way of making all this ”rocket-science” understandable for someone like me. Taught me more in this series of episodes than i have been doing since launch. Great job 10/10

@@nicdecaz425 Thanks, at the moment I am flying full time again and I have no time to do the next batch of videos. I will not be going into the systems though as those are unfortunately not really modeled to an extent to do instructional videos about them.

I love everything about the plane, but i wish you could have a version of the cockpit which looks a bit more used, because this one looks brand new....

Some developers go way overboard with the "used and worn" look; the Milviz 737 and the just-released Just Flight Cherokee come to mind. We're all different, but I prefer crisp and brand new textures, like Aerosoft's.

It would be much appreciated if the sound of the engines could be reduced to a minimum. This would help people in general to understand the voice of the speaker. This is not very easy for people with hearing problems to focus on the message while the hush sound becomes a major impairment. Otherwise, the videos are the best !

Fantastic series of tutorials, just can not wait for this airplane to release next week and experience that beautifully modeled cockpit in VR. Just a quick question about the RNAV, you’re showing us a manually managed descent, is it because the RNAV is not available with the AP, or it is just to demonstrate how it could be done without AP? Hopefully you will continue producing more tutorials with the CRJ, aka doing circuit, missed approaches, holding patterns, alternate airport re-routing, one engine landing, etc... Thanks for your hard and amazing work.

You probably mean VNAV. Most CR7s, if not all, do not have VNAV. You can choose between speed mode, vertical speed mode, pitch mode or flying with the AP off. That is it. The video showed you more or less the max automation you will get. Some CR9 and I guess all CRKs have the VNAV option IRL.

Excellent all the tutorials. Thank you! I have only a little more than a month with de 550/700 series. It is great the level of detail. But almost every flight I experience a very annoying issues with the autopilot, in the climb phase and in the cruise phase, and when I'm lucky in the descend phase. Suddenly the plane begin to increase the altitude drastically with not apparent reason, being almost impossible to recover a regular autopilot guided status. Always I have to control totally and land completely manually and I don't remember have done a complete trip with the autopilot engaged (complete until the landing phase who has to be all manual). I never has this kind of issues with the A320 or with the Cessna CJ4 or TBM930, both without auto throttle. Somebody is experience this issues with the CRJ?

Hello ! Thank you for the video! Is there a way you can see in the systems the optimal cruise altitude so you can do step climbs or choose this cruise level due to performance in the CRJ? Maybe in the FMS like the A320 or 737? Thank you! If not, how can we know we are cruising in the optimal flight level? Thanks again! :)

Great tutorial! however the sim sound is louder than your voice and that makes it hard to hear what you are saying. can you lower the sim sounds next time, we don't really need to hear it. thanks!

VNAV is an option yes, but normally not installed on an CR7.

why the MFD is showing altitude of 22,000 and the CDU which shows FL18, this issue is similar to the AIRBUS a320 by Flybywire where tracking is also off. I am following all your video and they are all great, thanks for your effort

Arrival procedures in Europe (and other parts of the world) compared to North America are so different. Do you often fly full procedures (star and iap) or get frequent vectors?

It is a mix really. Normally somewhere along the way you will get radar vectors.

thx for this fantastic video tutorial. but I have a couple of questions. Why don't you climb to more than 32000 feet without dropping the speed in a dreadful way? And why doesn't GCHI airport appear in the FMC even though it's in your database?

Thanks! GCHI probably has a too short runway. There is a cut off length and below this runways will not be shown in the FMS. Anything up to FL410 is possible but it really depends on a lot of factors. Make sure your pitch attitude is never above 2.5 degrees up when above FL300.

I followed your FMS video but for whatever reason I never get a top of descent displayed on the MFD. Do you know what I could be doing wrong?

I know, it is a current bug. The waypoint AKANU has a restriction of FL250B. At the moment you can not clear this restriction. When I entered the flightplan there were two AKANU waypoints. One belonging to the airway and one belonging to the arrival. If you look carefully I deleted the AKANU with the restriction on the LEGS page. At this moment you must do it like I did or fly above FL250 to get the TOD shown on the tutorial flight. With a future patch it will be possible to delete restrictions that are not relevant.

When it is modeled I will have a look at it. Unfortunately, at the moment it does not have all the features the real HGS has.

I have been working through all your tutorials and really enjoying them but it takes so long to get all set up that I am not having enough time to fly... Isn't there a way to save the setup flight with all the data in the FMC and then load it all back in when you are ready to take off?? If you can't do that you should be able to. Am I missing something? When I save the flight and then load it, nothing is in the FMC and the CRJ is not configured the way I saved it. Please advise. And thanks again for all the videos; they really are very helpful.

This is a big problem for people that have time constraints yes. I also had to do the setup dance more than I wanted to during the making of these videos. There is no way, expect for the route saving and loading, to save all the parameters at this moment. During development it was given zero attention and as a tester I can not say if it is even technically possible with the AS CRJ in MSFS. It would be a very welcome option and I can only advise you to go to the Aerosoft forums and make a request there. If enough people ask for it maybe they will look at it.

@@Flyer0245 Thanks so much for your reply. I am so frustrated with this. If they want people to really try flying the CRJ, the way it was meant to be flown, they need to do something about this. This is probably why there are not that many videos with the CRJ. It is a great plane but with this restraint it is almost impossible to really get into it.

Hi Dude, because the speed knob if I am uphill with the accelerator in Climb, keeps me the speed I have selected, while when I am cruising or downhill, I have to pull the Throttle back, to keep the right speed downhill too in Idle, otherwise I go in excessive speed?

This is normal as the CRJ has no autothrottle. Only in climb will the AP in SPD mode control the speed by changing the pitch of the aircraft. In cruise flight you must keep the speed by using the throttles. In descend you must also use the throttles yourself.

@@Flyer0245 Dude, I haven't been able to fly properly for several days, for example; take-off, landing gear up, I press the SPEED and NAV buttons, then at 600 feet I press the autopilot and CLIMB throttles, but while traveling the SID, it suddenly abandons me, or, suddenly, it no longer climbs, I don't understand. I have the flight controls connected not with the simulator but via FSUIPC

No, the auto tune function will give you the ILS frequency of the ILS you programmed in your FMS.

Look, I love these videos, I look forward to this aircraft, and I really like how Aerosoft are handling this release BUT Would it have been really a huge expense to sort the The Dude out with a decent microphone setup? Most of these videos sound like he's recording in his toilet. Again, I enjoy the content itself, but I feel perhaps a tiny extra bit of polish here would be nice.

@@Flyer0245 If you could separate the mic and the sim into different sound channels in the mixer and turn down the levels for the Sim I think it would be 100 percent better. I'm not sure how you record but recording the voice separately is a must. The cockpit sounds just overpower your voice

I have a problem with the crj but I didn't know where to ask for help so I thought here would be a good place. I am experiencing a lot of engine problems with the crj because when I add power the aircraft doesn't respond. I am using the thrustmaster quadrant and I made sure it is properly plugged in but it either doesn't respond or it starts to do wierd things. Is this just me or does someone else have this problem?

I would say directly at Aerosoft. They have an update tool and if there is an update you will first see it there as the other venues take longer.

I recommend you search the internet for the phenomenon “windshear” with regard to aviation to get an idea what kind of influence wind can have on an aircraft.

Why does the heading bug needs to be centered after every turn?

It's not required, it's just good practice. Keeping the heading bug centered allows you to quickly switch to heading mode, if for example ATC gives you a vector to fly.

We do single engine taxi irl before and after whenever possible. Our goal is to start the second engine within 6 minutes before takeoff

@@GTReplayMaster 6mîn ? That’s seems a lot. I only know that for the a320, you need to start the engines 2-3 min before setting takeoff power and after landing after 3min of cool down. Does the pane drift toward the shut down engine ? Because whats a shame on the sim if that when sigle taxing, the plane will always drift towards the side, and you have to apply some right or left steering to maintain center

@@CMBelite-FR It does until you include potential ATC delays of which we get a lot. Those 2-3 minutes are the minimum required, not the maximum.

@@CMBelite-FR As a First Officer I can't speak much on the steering during taxi. As far as I can tell the effect is minimal when steering straight so not much if any correction is needed (which makes sense given the short arm of the engine mounts), but sharp turns are notably easier when the outside engine is utilized.

It is seen as good airmanship to always center the HDG bug on every aircraft that has the option. On little Cessna’s it is as a reminder of where you are going and on the aircaft with AP it might be useful when you need HDG mode for whatever reason. Seeing an HDG bug that is not centered is like seeing an uniformed airline pilot wearing white socks; it is just not done 😉

It is a called an FCP in the CRJ, MCP is dreamed up by Boeing people. Having the VNAV button on the FCP is an ingame option and very unrealistic when flying the CR7. Some CR9 and the CRK have it IRL.

There‘s nothing to be fixed. That‘s the way it works in real life: When you fly in NAV mode, you have to center the heading bug manually after every turn.

The little rotary knob is called the 'Heading Bug'. It's not a bug as in a glitch or error.

@@Flyer0245 i guess Max is referring to the incremential adjustments of the Heading selector, which in the defaultplanes by now only is adjustable by 10s and not 1.

All manual. CRJ doesn’t have VNAV or auto throttle. Pretty barebones jet.

VNAV is a customer option and it is available on the P3D CRJ Professional, I don't see why it wouldn't be available at release or eventually for the MSFS CRJ.

It is an option you can select. But there is almost no CR7 that has it IRL.

Because it is MSFS and not RL.

That can be remedied by editing UserCfg.opt and changing the shadow map size to 4096 or higher (8192). You'll need a decent graphics card.

I believe the cause is that MSFS is using the same shadow maps for terrain and cockpit. Which is a bit strange.

Yeah, that is the main problem with doing a tutorial. But I am sure you will see a lot of external footage starting tuesday!

If you descend in VNav mode (an autopilot mode) instead of V/S mode (used in the video) and you remain in VNav mode, your App mode won't intercept the GS or the Loc. I tried this and found you need to come out of VNav before App will work. Don't believe this is on the manual.

Maybe something to report to AS. I do not use that option when flying the CR7.

@@Flyer0245 I've read that there may be an Asobo bug in the LOC/GS intercept, so it may be that at work here. The VNav descent appears to be working perfectly in the CRJ. It follows the descent profile spot on! Giving us a choice three, autopilot, descent methods! Wonderful sim!

@@davidh7280 The GS intercept is a bug yes. The dev will start making a custom GS AP mode this weekend that will prevent these problems.

The cockpit background noise is excessive. I can barely hear Dude! Hope the cockpit noise can be reduced in MSFS sound menu?

just hit Window Key + G, hit the sound bar, scroll to MSFS, and set to 40% or so. that's what I always do for my videos.
