MSFS | Aerosoft CRJ 700 Tutorial | EGLF to EGJJ | Part 1 - Cold & Dark to Cruise

Timestamps below. Part one of a two part tutorial which aims to provide you with all you need to know to successfully fly the CRJ 550/700 recently released by Aerosoft for Microsoft Flight Simulator. From cold and dark we run through the start up procedure, programming the FMS/CDU, taxi and take off and climb to cruise altitude. Part two will cover the descent, approach and ILS landing to shutdown.

Honestly they’re two different worlds. CRJ is almost a bit frustrating after flying the a320 for so long.

Just done a my first flight to in the crj-550 to egjj from Egaa my home airport fms decided to to shit it self about half way across the channel. Managed to sort it and get on the ground thankfully. This aircraft going to take a while to learn I think

The CRJ is a very demanding aircraft in single pilot ops in MSFS2020 compared to the A320. Its a rocket and due to lack of complete automation, it requires more action during phases of fast configuration changes. Also be aware of the „coffin corner“ at high altitudes, especially with shifting winds. Speed requires continuous monitoring. Try to use the HUG in different modes, eg CAT AIII approaches, flown manually :-) That‘s a lot of fun, manual flying with manual thrust cheers P.S.: uups, I almost forgot…: excellent video and very helpful!!!! PPS.: In fact, I would consider the Aerosoft CRJ the first aircraft simulation at study level

thanks for this. I was hoping to a clue as to why I am having an Autopilot issue with the CRJ 700 -both before and now after the big update. If I start on the runway all is good but begin from the gate and my AP will not engage. In spite of having Batt and GENs ON and FPLN input and ready. Odd.

I stand to be corrected, but the autopilot should not engage whilst on the ground. You can set it up for alt etc but safety measures built into the system prevent autopilot engage before takeoff.

Havent found a good way to move the park brake up on the crj. Button doesnt seem to work. Even using the scroll wheel on the mouse doesnt work. What are others using for this “pull and turn” lever in the crj

Regarding the pwr fuel button on the APU panel on the overhead. Am I supposed to see that button light up or change in someway after it is pressed? How am I supposed to know if the apu door is open or closed without looking outside?

Select apu to display on your secondary panel. Door indication is there.

Hi Mark I'm impressed with the turning during taxi. Are you linking any axis to the tiller or are you purely steering by foot? I bought a dedicated joystick and have linked it to increase/decrease steering, and subsequently minimised all sensitivities, but essentially it is still a switch so continued application gives full L/R movements of the nosewheel. Just interested in your own set-up. Thanks

thank you mark i watch all your videos and subcribe to your channel but i dtill cant install these items they download but not install it all happened with the last update it unistalled 2 planes that i have bought and not reinstall i hopeing the next update will solve this problem the sim runs great and smooth ihave 800gs of space on my ssd drive left thanks again for your help

Check your instore directory. If there are entries there for the programs delete them and then it should allow you to reinstall etc. Regards

thanks mark i did what you sugested did not work i uninstalled the sim reinstalled sim on a new ssd drive it installed everything but the same 25 items still not install including kitfox and utralight 103

O boy. I managed to download Farnborough Ok, I unzipped it and pasted [burningbluedesign-airport-eglf-farnborough] into the Community Folder and its there along with Lydd and Meigs Field, but when I got to fly from Farnborough it hasn't loaded, it's the MSFS 2020 version of Farnborough. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but with no joy!!! Sorry for being a pain Mark, but I have no idea what to try next. Any help you can give me will be most appreciated. Regards Dave.

Hi, does anyone know how I can get back the Seminole? it had an update & it didn't install that, now I don't have it in fs2020 even though it is in my installed list but not in the sim

Check if there is a directory in the community folder. If so delete it and re-download it. If this install was not to your community folder you may need to seek advice from the developer, which I guess would be Caranado.

@@SimHangerFS I have the same issue, lost the Seminole after the last update, I bought it through the market place and it worked always great until the last update, I never saw the Seminole file in the community folder but found it in the onestore, deleted it from there and reinstalled it again, it says it is installed but will not show up in the aircraft selection site (hanger). I've tried everything as well, signed in and out, deleted it several times and reloaded it, but still never show up in the aircraft selection site. Any Ideas?

@@wrongwayfeldman5393 looking on the forums other people have had this issue. The download is in the one store directory apparently....advice is....Exit MSFS, go into your MSFS installation folder and remove the carenado pa44 aircraft folder manually and then restart MSFS and re-download the addon again
