MSFS | Bayreuth Airport (EDQD) by M'M Simulations - First Look & Review [MSFS Addons]

M'M Simulations have released another new airport scenery for Microsoft Flight Simulator recently - creating a rendition of Bayreuth Airport (Flugplatz Bayreuth, Deutschland) - a scenic airport nestled in a hilly and rather beautiful part of Bavaria, Germany.
The airport itself has been without scheduled services since 2001 and has since operated as a General Aviation airport, dropping down to Class G Uncontrolled Airspace too. It's tower is still present, though it doesn't have any ATC service.
Bayreuth is equipped with one Asphalt runway (06/24) which is just over 1,000m long, and it also has 3 parallel grass runways primarily for glider use. The hard runway itself has an RNAV approach capability in addition to a visual approach.
In this video, I'll show you around this new airport scenery developed by M'M Simulations to help you decide whether you too would like to add this airport scenery to your own simulator. Overall, I was very impressed and liked it a lot - especially being situated in such a stunning environment/location too surrounded by wonderful towns, hills, rivers and a few mountains though I noted one or two things I would like to see improved.

Overall, this looks like a good airport. It's fun watching the animated people, and the implementation of snow looks quite good. It seems, though, that in some areas the external textures are blurry (e.g. at 7:55, some of the tarmac outside the terminal building and maintenance hanger appears blurry while other parts don't; and at 12:55 there is a patch of sharply textured grass to the right of the taxiway surrounded by blurry textures) - but maybe that's just how it's coming across on the video. One small thing: I'm pretty sure that the town's name is pronounced 'By-roit' (with the 'y' as in 'by' and the 'oi' as in 'coin').

Hi, the blurriness may well be (and is likely to be) my LOD settings but I'd have to look into that further. There are some sharp edges on the scenery though which could be improved ... Also, you should know I'm no good at pronounciation by now 😂

@@BritishAvgeek 😂 German's the only foreign language I speak. I'm sure I mispronounce most foreign place names - the Welsh would almost certainly cover their ears upon hearing my attempts at pronouncing a lot of the waypoints around the Mach Loop!

Nice. I will definitely check it out. By the way, it is pronounced BI-roiyt. It is famous because it is home to the Bayreuth Festspielhaus (Bayreuth Festival House), which is the opera house that was built for Richard Wagner, to his specifications. There is an annual "festival" that features many productions of Wagner operas. I think the opera house was visible in the distance in some of your early footage.
