MSFS | BETA GOING STRONG | HP REVERB G2

In today's video I want to give you a quick update to let you know that I am still really enjoying the MSFS Sim Update 10 Beta in VR using my HP Reverb G2.!

As I have said in previous videos, I’m enjoying really smooth flights in VR and am continuing to explore new areas for sightseeing and relaxation. I really love this sim and often like to listen to music while flying.
The other day I actually flew as a passenger in VR for most of the flight and just spent time looking out the window admiring the dramatic landscapes over the Andes using the latest mesh by ORBX which is awesome.
I would encourage you to report problems or bugs if you are in the beta build as you encounter them. Working together like this will help the developers advance the sim faster making it more stable.

Lovely fill in thanks mate. Without a doubt the next area I would like to see upgraded is from your home east to include micronesia with an emphasis on Papua New Guinea for the great landing challenges. To those worried by the beta remember msfs 2020 is the most complex simulation program there is and the programmers try to envision all problems but that is what beta testing is for. They dont always get it right but the beta testing shows this and lets them fix the program before it's released. Well done to Asobo and all the beta testers true pioneers. Keep up the good work Chris.

Hey Chris, wondered when you were going to post another video. I was just about to try the beta a few weeks ago but they launched an update and it seems everyone on the forum says its tanked performance now, running much worse than SU9. glad to hear it's still working well for you. I'm just going to stick with SU9 until the official launch as I'm happy enough with the performance and don't want to mess around if it deteriorates! Are you still running well even with the latest SU10 beta?

@@PIEINTHESKYTOURS Thanks for that, as i tried, the seated position always changes as soon as the plane flies a curve etc.......maybe with replay, would it work?

Hi. SU10 beta is running great. I have an AMD GPU so can't use DLSS, but it doesn't matter. I wouldn't use it even if I could with the performance I'm getting. I'm running with OpenXR at 100% and TAA at 90% using DX12 and the depth motion reprojection in-game setting. This combination has greatly improved my clarity and stutters are a thing of the past. There's still some VR bugs that need attention but I don't have any CTD's and the sim is running better than ever.

you're not missing out with amd gpu. DLSS isnt functioning like its supposed to. It basically just downgrades visuals.

@@gregson99 Agree. I read the glass cockpit has taken a big step back. I think the killer feature is the DX12 improvements. I'm seeeing utilization improvements with both my CPU and GPU which has allowed me to move the TAA resolution from 75% to 90% which is a big jump in clarity. 75 was really good but 90 is unbeleivable.

@@gregson99 Are you saying you have poor performance or it doesn't work at all? I assume you mean poor performance and since you have a Quest 2 I also assume you're running the game through SteamVR. Unfortunately I can't help with your performance issues because I have a Reverb G2 headset and don't run it through SteamVR. Our situations are totally different so I can't give any advice that would apply to you.

I've been testing the BETA on my G2. Nothing but shimmering and stutters. Awefull. My sim/VR was perfect before trying the BETA. ANy thoughts?

Hm for me DLSS improved shimmering by a lot ... I know DLSS brings some blurriness with it but you can counter that by increasing the renderscale to 125% or 150% via openxr dev tools. That might take a little bit of the performance gains from DLSS away but it gives you the best image quality in my opinion.

@@soziologeek3340 figured it out! I had motion reprojection on in XRToolkit. I sadly reverted back to 9. Reinstalling beta 10 now. Thanks, mate!
