That was a fantastic reply and I feel really awful now! 🤭You took our comments about the music level in the spirit they were intended - purely to help you make better content - thanks for understanding. You know we weren't being spiteful 👍. It is easy to forget just how hard all the behind the scenes technical stuff actually is and I for one, never take it for granted. I will always stick by you for sure as I appreciate your reviews and enlightened opinions. One of your views is worth a hundred from people who have never flown a real helicopter.

No worries! Growth and passion for helicopters is what this community is all about! …oh, and maybe the occasional fixed wing bit of content too if I’m feeling adventurous. I like airplanes too. I have some time in Cessna 152s & 172s also, but they’re just nowhere near as fun as helicopters!

Could not have said it better, Belatu’s soft voice and commentary against the background of the rotor chop is music to my ears. Maybe a poll on whether viewers prefer background music or not, I prefer it without.

I am big fan of Belatu's helicopter reviews and have a lot of respect for his views but I had to abandon this one part way in due to the music. I am however old fashioned and can never see the point of music in a YT video unless it is adding to the entertainment value in some way so I may be in the minority. Certainly an entire video music track, especially for something that is a specialist subject, would have very little benefit to most viewers. I did manage to work out that this is an excellent product though, worth a look.

@@tasercs I appreciate the feedback! This is a hobby for me and I’m learning video and sound editing for enjoyment :) and I’m not that good at audio editing yet. I’m learning how to integrate background music, but struggle with the levels and cuts. Right now, I’m not that good at fading tracks in & out to go along with the video content. I’ve gotten better, but have miles to go…Thanks for sticking with me while I continue to work it out :)

Cant wait to try it out, Ive flown a Bell jet ranger a couple of times and the cyclic is so sensitive you can use telepathy to fly the heli yet there is latency in the control so like you said you have to be a step ahead of you start chasing your reactional inputs. Inversely, the bell rudder pedals where as heavy as a tractors

Great video, subbed. I have been enjoying the bell stock heli the last few weeks, and probably enjoy them more than any other aircraft. I am running a 7800x3d and 4090 with quest 3. My only issue has been the stutters. And although they have improved nught and day over the months, i belive due to drivers and tlod more than anything else. All i am hoping for in 2024 is a completely stutter free experience. If they could achieve this, i would be in heli heaven. The graphics are stunning at times in 2020, so hearing that 2024 will be much improved is a very exciting idea. Now of course the 9000x3d and 5090 are coming out, so the prospects for amazing msfs experience is jaw dripping at this point. Then combine a pimax light, and this year really could be a total gamechanger.
@Belatu42
@Belatu42 8 күн бұрын
Wow! That’s a great setup! I spec’d my dad an i9 13900k with a 4090 and he can turn his settings up pretty high with his reverb G2. I run an i9 12900k with a 3080ti. It runs my Varjo Aero really well, but I have to turn down my LOD a bit to be stutter free. I’m hoping to upgrade my GPU and maybe pickup a Pimax Crystal light, but I’m happy with my setup for now. When I was training for my private I would run XP10 on an i5 chip with a 1070 on a Rift. It got the job done, but we’ve come a long way in the last few years…

@@Belatu42 Thabks for the interesting reply. Autofps has been a gamechanger for me. In the Bell I can set a 135Tlod below 300ft and that then rises to a maximum 275Tlod above 3000ft. It even works with a frame cap, as the new version uses a dynamic lod based on altitude instead of an fps figure. I get a 95% stutter free experience, but it's the 5% flutter farts that breaks immersion. The quest 3 is running at 3808 res via oculus supersampling. Its really like real life at times. But even with this set up I have to lock at 36fps with motion repro making it 72hz. I go for graphics mainly, but at 72hz it's buttery. I really cannot afford the 9000x3d and 5090, I broke the bank with the set up I currently run, but I cannot imagine how amazing vr would be with this set up, plus 2024 optimisation plus a high end vr unit. Insane.

Thank you very much for the review. I couldn't follow what you said about vibration because it seems to be vibrating a lot based on what I am seeing in the panel ? Or are you in VR moving your head ? 3 months ago you said the R22 was the most realistic - has the Huey release changed your mind over which one you would buy now out of the two ?
@Belatu42
@Belatu42 8 күн бұрын
Thanks for the feedback! You are correct, I’m in VR so the appearance of vibration in the video is my head movement. I was talking to the other simmer while flying formation… That’s a tough question about the R22. I’m pretty sure I mentioned in the video that both the Huey and R22 are the most realistic. I don’t think I could choose between the two… I would pick the R22 because I fly it IRL, but then I would pick the Huey because it’s so iconic and I would die to fly one. As far as realism in the sim, you can’t go wrong with either.

Thanks very much for a great video and information. With helicopters are you supposed to reset rotor trim for the approach into hover and land?
@Belatu42
@Belatu42 8 күн бұрын
So…that’s an interesting question in the sim. In the real thing, yes, you would reset trim for approach so you aren’t fighting it. In the sim, it depends on your hardware. I have a ‘springless’ cyclic stick that stays where I leave it so I don’t use trim in the sim. If it’s sim ‘force’ trim, I would reset. If it’s beep trim, just adjust so you’re not fighting the spring.

@@Belatu42 I've a Velocity 1 Flight Stick which has a very stiff spring. However the anti torque pedals have no spring fitted which I find suits me. I am currently leaving trim set and managing the approach accordingly l. I'll invest in Puma X Flight system later in the year. Thanks very much for your time, its very much appreciated 👍

@@Belatu42 Absolutely! :) I'm super on the fence about buying this bird. Not because I'm concerned about its quality, at all! Just that FS2024 is coming soon, and although all addons will eventually be updated to be compatible, that is often a lengthy and laborious process for the devs. I'm kind of on a hiatus of adding any ships or scenery to FS2020, which is sad, because I've been wanting a Huey bad. Your review on the Cowan MD500 got me to buy that amazing bird, so I'm no stranger to your views.
