I have both the HP Reverb and a RTX 3080 and the performance from my modest machine is awesome!!! Getting very good FPS, using the Open XR toolkit, done a LOT of tweaking, but the results are worth it!!

How do you know if its V1 or V2? are all V1 have been taken off the market and replaced with V2? I'm considering buying G2 but dont know if its v1 or v2.

I have the same hardware, and agreed it's good enough for me. Social Media gives a skewed view and makes it seem like it's necessary, and everyone's getting high end everything. They're not, it's just most KZbinrs upgrade and attract the small niche crowd who do the same. The majority are on older hardware and doing just fine!

Hi Pie, I have the same setup RTX3080 i7 12th gen HP G2 V2. Recently purchased gaming PC. Just recently got things tweaked to "almost" perfect. I'm a licensed private pilot and everything in the the SIM is really legit! I still have some ever so slight micro stuttering but barely noticeable. Lots of headroom to go with my rig. Would recommend. Thanks for your vids, helped me a lot!

The 3080 and Reverb G2 make a nice pairing for sure. I upgraded towards the end of last year with a new 13900K, 4090 PC and a Quest Pro, but that was a £5500 outlay and probably not worth it from a pure value point of view. I can tell you that the pancake lenses of the Quest Pro are definitely the future though, and the Quest 3 will likely be an exceptional upgrade from the G2 for around £500 at the end of this year. I imagine that will be the most popular headset going into 2024. Everything else seems to be priced out of reach for most people starting at £1000 and over.

I have the 3080Ti with an i9-11900k, and the G2. I can now get 40-50fps with all the performance improvements in the sim and also using the OpenXR toolkit companion app. However, it is still jittery to the side and I feel resolution could be better, especially seeing your video which looks better than I can get. If I increase resolution in OpenXR or the companion app I just fall off an fps cliff (suddenly down to 5fps). If you could provide a newer settings video it might give me and others some direction on improvement.

Thanks for the information Mate. I use a 3080ti and the Varjo Aero, with the latest software for both devices I get absolutely incredible performance, (I run the Aero at 39ppd so I am pushing it's capabilities). The latest drivers elicit the best performance from any hardware. Have a great day.

It's getting better all the time. I heard drivers coming out soon as early as this quarter from Nvidia will improve the quality and performance up to 30%.

I haven't jumped into VR (or 2D for that matter) for about 4-5 months. I have an HP Reverb G2 + RTZ 2080 Super. Before jumping back in, has the meta changed for getting good performance? Last time it was all about the fixed foviated rending (can't even remember the name of the tool that's how longs its been haha) Or have we moved past that with Direct X12 yet?

Maybe I can request a video? 1.) with the actual VR settings with the newest nvidia driver (and differencers between DLSS and "normal" settings. and 2.) the buttkicker with the new driver (As i remember, there is something new?) Im a bit outdated at the monet...because my computer was in repair and it took a long timer to install all neccessary updates of MSFS

I have a 3080Ti and the reverb G2. Your other videos on tuning your headset and pc made a huge difference and I have smooth VR flying now. However I’m curious how you record so well in VR. I have tried OBS set to left or right eye, which made me have to double my output resolution to get 1080 VR recordings. The 3080 didn’t like that so I tried using steam VR and it works sometimes and most of the time it fights with the windows vr software (mixed realty portal) and who knows what else. What’s your secret?

4070 costs the same if not less, has 12 gigs and runs on 200watts as opposed to the whopping 320 watts.

Hi please help to figure out why on earth when I choose my flight planning it takes 45 minutes to start the game. This is happening recently Loading the game no issues to start my flight is a disaster 😑

I would empty the community folder of third party software as it seems something in there may be causing the problem. Load a msfs standard flight with msfs scenery and aircraft and see if the load times improve.

@Gerry Palmer I bought an aircraft from FSMS market by mistake then uninstalled it, but it’s still there shown as owned but not installed, my community folder is empty; I have no clue how to delete the aircraft file as I'm sure it is what's causing the delay Please help Thanks
