In my teens, when first learning how to play guitar, I remember distinctly thinking to myself that I better start using my pinky if I ever wanted to be a good lead player, yet he doesn't seem to use his, and yet he plays so much better than me. Was I hoodwinked? Bamboozled? Honky tonked?...🤔😯😄

Born raised and brought up on UFO and Michael Schenker!! By far one of the most tasteful, creative, entertaining and badass gunslingers of our time.
@The67flyingV11 жыл бұрын
Schenker had the licks, he had the right flying V's, the tone was perfect and he had the hair to go along with all of that, today he doesn't have all the hair, but he is playing better then he ever has before and is showing some road scars and it just adds more character to the best guitarist to ever exist. Long live the Legend, can't wait to see this wizard again.

Schenker makes his guitar sing; it's that simple [or complex]. Many guitarists are as skillful but with Schenker it is a lot like when you listen to great vocalists; you sort of join in, hum along and got lost in the song but without any real understanding of how incredibly difficult what they are doing really is.

Wasn't there a Scorpions/UFO concert where one band opened for the other and Michael Schenker played lead guitar in both bands at the same concert because one of the leads couldn't make it? 😎 (Ring any bells anyone) 💬😎

I was fortunate and actually took 2 guitar lessons from him in sf valley. Unfortunately he was in financial trouble at the time from his divorce. Didnt learn a lot but watching him play was amazing. The difficult thing for me was that he didnt use his pinky and the language barrier. I think i paid 100 bucks for half hour lessons. It was a long drive and well beyond my budget. The ironic thing is i ended up taking lessons in my home town at a place called best records from george lynch. Pretty memorable experience. Everyone talks about eddies brown tone. Ill take shenkers strangers in the night all day long

Lol where did host the lessons?
@bobpugliese4428 Жыл бұрын
@@saralespaul Rumours abounded that Schenker was now letting a German astrological guru dictate his career as the guitarist underwent rehabilitation to counter his alcohol problem. The guitarist was also earning money by giving celebrity guitar lessons for a whopping $200 an hour fee! It was at one of these lessons that Schenker met his manager to be Bella Piper. I also took a few lessons from George lynch at best records in cerritos ca. It was a money grab for both of them and a huge waste of money
