It's going to be an awesome handheld in about 5 years when the arc drivers are perhaps up to date competition wise, you have to take into consideration that nVidia and AMD have had years upon years upon years to fine tune their drivers to the degree of what they are now. Personally I think that this handheld is a hidden gem, but it's TOO DAMN EXPENSIVE, they should have sold it to a loss in order to sell lots of them, and it should perhaps been a partnership with Epic or something so that there could be some kind of passive income in order to pay for the loss, but they are basically asking for a gold nugget for a broken device.

In 5 years you'll buy something new that performs much better. Also in 5 years non of the new games will run on this device at an acceptable frame rate. It's a bad product, not a hidden gem

How confident are you that further optimizations by intel and MSI can help the Claw, um 'claw' back some performance?
@GLITCHEDZA9 ай бұрын
Haha I think updates will increase performance but 20-25% but the unit still won't perform as well as the AMD Z1 Extreme and still costs more. So it is a tough one.

So this will never ever be as good or better than the Ally? I picked one up and the only game that I found that seem to beat the Ally was Bioshock remaster
@210shotz9 ай бұрын
Actually it's two games lol well I'm not sure if i should count the second, I have the original Crysis 3 not the remaster. When playing it does out perform the Ally but like I said its the original and not the remaster.

Spec wise it’s definitely a weaker machine. It may handle some games better. Games which are optimised for Intel XeSS and not AMD FSR. I think there are only a few cases there. But older games like Bioshock and Crysis should run pretty well. I would honestly use this to play older games which I have seemingly abandoned. Catch up on that backlog finally.

I thought the theoretical claw performance is better than the ally. It's the intel drivers and incorrect gpu cpu power allocation that hold the claw back in actual games.

I have mse claw and legion go. I love legion go better. I tried msi claw playing games. No lag or stuttering not even freezing. You just have to download all the right drivers. It is not a bad handheld. The speakers is better than legion go. I dont like rog ally z1 or z1 extreme. The whole device heats up quick while plug in and not plug in. I must have bought a defective device. Asus has a bad customer service and will charge you to ship your device. If they see a single scratch on your device they will make you pay half and if you dont pay they will break your device. I rather have other device than asus for warranty. Legion go has good warranty my controller broke they send me 2 of them no shipping charge it was free. I get to keep my broken controller. What beat that warranty. Asus sucks at warranty they money hungry company

MSi Claw at max W can't even match Steam Deck/OLED at 15W and less. This thing was dead on arrival. Stillborn It's worse in erry possible way to the Steam Deck/OLED. It's even more obsolete than errything else that's ever been in the PC handheld market. It's the biggest joke since the LeGo Also, 1h20 is NOT a "okay" life span for a battery. Steam Deck/OLED set the standard, the bar is set pretty high. 5h minimum average is what's "okay", not 3h maximum on a basic game. Even for AAA games, Steam Deck/OLED set the standard there
@GLITCHEDZA9 ай бұрын
I agree. The bar was set years ago by the Steam Deck. Products should be better or maybe "the same" not worse. Makes no sense.

@@GLITCHEDZA Only thing erry other PC handheld did was 1-up the competition But they'll never learn that higher resolution, higher end hardware, and RGB makes a battery powered device WORSE. Especially when battery tech isn't that gr8. They completely neglect the whole point of a PORTABLE device: the battery Just bcuz a game can run at 1080p120 or 2k144, doesn't mean it should smdh. What isn't going into performance, is going into battery
