Yeah it's a crappy move by Microsoft, they even changed it so that Windows 11 Pro requires a internet connection and Microsoft account to finish setup.

@@Thomas-ww6yd I used a usb wifi adapter to update windows 10. Automatic updates via the internet fixed the issue where a bios update and several manual driver updates via USB stick failed.

Doesn't work with MSI PRO Z690-A DDR4, the files are exactly the same as in the video, luckily internet works perfectly on any Linux distro using kernel 5.15 or superior

@@reculate3332 my guy this is the LAN driver. Go to another video to see the WiFi drivers. Search your motherboard and find the wireless drivers.

confirmed z690 carbon wifi has issues with Fios fiber, i had to disable TCP and UDP checksum for it to work without slow loading of some pages.

@@reculate3332 alright. This was posted 2 months ago and I had it fixed ever since. The short answer: you can. Here’s how: If you don’t have internet access via LAN, then follow this- - download the intel network driver (either from MSI website with specific motherboard) on another device - plug a usb into that device and transfer the driver onto the usb - on the PC with no driver, plug the usb in (you should already have windows 11 all set up already) - put the driver onto your desktop - go to device manager and under network adapters, select the driver that either has a yellow warning sign or the one that says Intel(R) Ethernet controller - right click and press update driver - try automatic update but if that doesn’t work, do it manually, meaning locating the file that you put on your desktop (it should be a zip file)

If you have an old USB Wi-Fi adaptor like the Edimax you can stick that in before installing, and windows may see it it did my old Edimax no doubt it would also some others as well

That means you are booting into the drive where you started the Win11 install. Go into your BIOS and set it to boot back into your installation media.

@@reculate3332 I got it to work, but I forgot how I did it. I think I had to actually reinstall Windows as my last resort which worked.

For any future visitors: Windows 11 NEW installation doesn't have a way to install drivers past the point where you choose where to install, and ~will not complete~ without internet connectivity. If you have already passed this step and cannot connect to the internet because you do not have the LAN drivers for your motherboard installed, you have to reinitialize the installation from the start. In order to do this: reset your PC, and press the key to go into BIOS (usually Delete key on MSI motherboards). Once in BIOS, you will need to move the Windows OS 11 installation media (e.g. USB, DVD drive) to be the first bootable device, before the Windows bootloader. Save and exit, and when your PC restarts, you will go through the initial setup again. When you reach the screen shown in this video, you will need to delete the partitions created during the first, failed installation, freeing them up for a fresh install. From there, follow the steps in this video to choose and install your network drivers before continuing. Please note that this is for a fresh install, not an upgrade. Do NOT delete partitions on an upgrade. Sincerely, an owner of a beautiful new MSI motherboard who just had to figure this out.

I tried and tried took all day to finally find an old pci-e nic and fitted that to the pc and then the windows drivers had them for my old card. What a Pfaff. Checking GIGABYTE have the drivers to download but no installation instructions. Who is responsible here Microsoft or the motherboard manufacturers racing ahead with new hardware. I also note that the WIFI drivers and bluetooth have to have drivers installed after completing windows. At this rate I am surprised we don't need M.2 drivers as well. Also the Z790 bios!!! WTF

Microsoft changed that. Now Windows 11 Pro also requires an internet connection and a Microsoft account to complete setup.

This shit dosent work on my MSI Pro Z690 A DDR4! The shown steps in the Video are not working. I downloaded the Intel Network Drivers from the MSI page, unzip it, copy it to an USB stick - started windows 10 installation and when i comes to the point where i have to load the driver, i open the path and the windows installer tells me "no drivers found make sure there is an driver on your USB Stick". WTF? are you kidding? i also tried to install windows without network drivers and do this afterwards from the CD. --> Again no chance. MSI Installer tells me: "no ethernet connector found" This is my first MSI Board after 20 years and i can tell you it will be my last forever. i never had such a fucked up installing experience with ASUS!
