I'd cancel, and wait. You will have this for a long time, the better product may last much longer and perform better. Check out the video from Steve at Gamers Nexus about MSI. It's pretty interesting. I won't buy from MSI. Good luck whatever you do. :)

DBJones There are horror stories by just about any and every AIB partner. Have a 1080 from MSI that has never given an issue. I’m not big on majority of their laptop offerings but, have had success with their cards.

This has left me rather confused now. a lot Furthermore, with the lack of dual bios, and 13 + 3 base specification phase power delivery system (even though there is the 3 x 8 pin power input plug requirement) I am beginning to think more seriously of cancelling my pre-order and going with another AIB. For what is sold as a premium AIB video card it follows very closely to the reference specification and seems to not offer much 'added value'. Interested in everyone's thoughts as it is a big chunk of money and these days we need to spend a little wisely.

5:05 zero airflow from the card right to the rear/ outside of your case. given the founders edition cards, there was hope for a better solution. looks like MSI never thought about that a second, just put a big ass cooler on the card as usual. cools the card quiet and nicely, but leaves all the heat from 300W+ inside your case. no innovation at all. in terms of style, a lightbar and on the side - again - only the small MSI logo illuminated.😁🤦♂️ but hey they printed another RTX logo on top.. MSI trying to be cheap?! - a RTX Gaming Z/X series card that doesnt look Premium at all. as uninspired as it gets, even 20 series cards look much better - all they had over the 10 Series is added RGB and at least a pretty backplate. Its 2020, we cant have that for just 699.. 🤡 Looks like they really cut budget to go full attack mode - thats me trying to be positive about it.

That depends on the fins direction but many professionals prefer blower style card cause even though they run hot they are blowing air out of the Case and reducing over all temps
@sold0ut2104 жыл бұрын
@@rx58000 You can have non-blower style cards that still vent some heat through a rear IO cutout through smart fin placement.

I just ran a GPU and CPU stress test at the same time to max both components at 100% for 15 minutes. I then stopped the GPU stress test. I noticed a drop of 1-2 degrees in CPU temp after disabling the GPU test which leads me to believe my open air 2080 Ti doesn't contribute heat in a meaningful way. My system is 100% air cooled. 2 front intake fans, CPU air cooler, 1 exhaust fan. Even in a worst-case scenario that I never actually encounter when using my system, the difference was 1-2 degrees. I think concerns of open air GPU heat dump are simply intuition guesses without actually testing it.

Literally looks like a ROG Strix 2080 TI with a light strip. That's questionable 😂
@pingchen52914 жыл бұрын
They all look the same! The shroud is identical, you see the radiator fins from the side... and it usually looks identical, but bigger. I had the STRIX 1070 and 1080Ti, and honestly the only real difference was scale. Shroud on the 20XXs was the same, I think. If they have kept it the same, then that is a lot of generations without innovation/ redesign. I am a fan of theSTRIX cards, but am going TUF this time. The aluminium is cleaner, more mature and elegant. If it handles heat better, that is an extra benefit.
@Kizzster4 жыл бұрын
@@pingchen5291 Good choice TUF is great I'm impressed with it and it has the coolest tempratures compared to the rest of the 3080s! I'm going for the Strix OC or the TUF OC, The Strix OC already seems the best overclocking card according to leaks.

Actually the "graphine" (its just graphite) does transfer heat better, buuuutttt only when a magnetic field is involved so that plate will be barely worse and might be close to aluminum if you have a lot of electromagnetic current going through your card

@scale...3d4 жыл бұрын
Gaming X is actually the Flagship but it's just that MSI built this card for running quietly this time. Its the quietest card tested so far and it has got the best RGB implementation other than the Gigabyte master and Zotac AMP Extreme. Honestly, I don't think if Asus could ever do the RGB right on their strix cards. The people who have money will still buy the trio X for that better software suite and more customization options.
@kaitoux84134 жыл бұрын
@@scale...3d the TUF is quieter and cooler than the Gaming X when using the quiet BIOS in the tests I've seen. Depends if they're looking for the GPU looks or function, because even if the TUF looks worse/have worse RGB it still is better and cheaper.
@scale...3d4 жыл бұрын
@@kaitoux8413 I didn't talk about the looks of TUF, it was the strix because last time it was only RGB and this time they made it ARGB but the ARGB modes are really few which aren't implemented as well except for the comet mode. And for the Trio, yes I agree that TUF has done a good job this time but as far as noise normalized tests go, Trio X performs better than the TUF at same noise level with greater performance even if it's for 1 or 2 fps gain. So, it really depends on the budget. If I had the budget, I would definitely go for the Trio X even if it's expensive because its just better in many way. Trio X also comes with Zero frozr as it's the flagship and there's no such mode on TUF. So, it's just a different overall experience going for the flagship and you couldn't complain much if you have the money to go for it. Its just a nicer experience overall. 😇😇😇
@kaitoux84134 жыл бұрын
@@scale...3d The "Zero Frozr" is just the fan stop mode, which the TUF does have and probably most models this time around, as the FE model also have it. Also at least in this video, the TUF is the one performing better at the noise normalized test, they're mostly the same but the TUF still performs slightly better when you consider memory and VRM temperatures, other reviews show similar story with the TUF in the Quiet BIOS having similar temperatures, noise and same performance or within margin of error.
