Ive never been around for a new gpu drop im new to pc parts , Does the new nvidia series affect old prices I.E 40 series dramatically or am i better off still looking at 7800xt for the 500$ price range?

Prices for 40th gen should drop after some time after launch, but these GPUs availability may not be huge
