Ahhhh..... You are amazed by the filipino hospitality! And would you believe that Every Town or Every Barrio Has its own Saint or Parish or Church Or Better a Town Named After a Saint! ALL OVER THE PHILIPPINES! We Celebrated Diff. Feast in Either Death or the Sainthood of that Saint! Everyone is welcome to go inside our homes to eat and drink and celebrate with the Host of the House! Yeah it's a weird culture but THIS IS THE PHILIPPINES! Yes when we have party, fiesta or gathering we always invite people to join with us. But it is not the case in germany where everything is with appointment. Here we dont make appointment to visit someone or you want to ask something from friends or neighbors you just go to them no appointment. And that crab we eat it also in our island in Samar. We called it KAGANG.its yummy either cooked just water or in coconut milk.

As majority of the Philippines are Catholic Christians, most places (each chapel or parish church for each barrio/town) have a designated Patron Saint/s... and that saint's feast day is celebrated by the whole community - That is the basis of the Filipino Fiesta. Ex: San Isidro Labrador / St. Isidore The Laborer, is the patron saint of farmers. So most farming communities would have him as their patron saint. During his feast day, 15th May, the farming communities celebrate a year of bountiful harvests. During feast days, homes are open for everyone, as in everyone... to join in the food and celebrations for the festival. During earlier times, people do not just come to homes to eat as guests. It is always a communal activity. People from neighboring communities would come early in the day (or even a day before) to help prepare/cook the feast itself, or to help prepare/participate in the house for festival prayers/novenas, or to prepare or decorate the clan's religious statues/figures in carriages that will be paraded around the town during the highlight of the festival, etc. These tradition continues today as Filipinos still invite anyone present outside their homes to come in and partake in the festivities during Fiestas.
