Regarding #8, Blanca's HIV diagnosis, something that stands out for me in the scene is when Blanca thanks the medical lady who gave her the results of the HIV test. The lady asks for what, and Blanca says, "It must be hard telling people they gonna die day after day." In what may be her darkest hour, Blanca is still sympathetic toward and considerate of others. Blanca wasn't just Elektra's heart, she was the heart of "Pose."

Candy’s death always pissed me off then I realized this show shows the realism of what trans women have to go through and unfortunately that comes with being murdered. Trans women were killed by men at alarming rates and they still are. It’s not all about ballrooms and great reads. It may seem fun but these WOMEN go through so much. I’m sorry to my trans sisters out there. Continue to be who you are and NEVER let anyone tell you different. You’re a beautiful woman and you should be called such. By me? You definitely will be. When Candy died. Her character never should’ve been killed off.
@TheDivineOne1873 жыл бұрын
This was the perfect time to kill her off. It represented what happens to our trans sisters everyday. One minute, you kekeing with them, throwing shade with them,….the life of the party….then in an instance, gone…..and it’s normally someone favorite….just like this episode. In this episode it really could have been any one of them. The hate is random but the pain left behind is not.

Candy's passing hit me like a train, not just she died in a horrific way but the funeral and the scene of her singing in the ballroom crushed me so much, also the scenes of her vision letting us now much more about her and her relationships with the members of her community were very touching. I have binge watched this show numerous times. I must say I did not expect this show to turn out as amazing as it did. I came out during the early 90s, and everything depicted was exactly how it was. It brought back so many memories of all the beautiful souls we lost during that time, so young, just wanting to be loved in a world full of hate. The scenes of them constantly going to funerals was exactly how it was. Week after week losing 1, 2, 3 ppl within a week was insane. But even though we dealt with that, the times of community was definitely an experience. Unlike now, with lgbtq being so mainstream, back then it was like a world within a world.

Candy's funeral and Blanca's lipsync in season 2 brought him to tears and Pray's passing, whilst he thought it was handled well and fitting, pissed him off because he'd grown to care for Pray's endeavours.
