It went beyond that with Hitler. He took a defeated, impoverished nation and turned it into a world power in only a few years. Because of WWII we forget that Hitler was Time Magazine's front cover Man of the Year for 1937. Had it not been for the War, Hitler could have been one of the greatest statesmen of the 20th Century. When people are unemployed and hungry, and someone comes along to fix that almost overnight, no one is going to question the emotional capacity of their savior. Of course it was popular with Post-War Germans to say they knew Hitler all along. If they had really felt that way when it mattered, Hitler could have never assumed power. His actual rise to power was via the approved democratic vote method.

He bought a hotel or a piece of property that I think had been foreclosed on at a good price and he renovated it, but he had the renovation company use the cheapest paint available from the manufacturer, even though he was warned against it. An acquaintance on mine once told me what her, then, five year old son said about his narcissistic father and his new partner, who is probably also a narcissist: “They lie, and they believe their own lies.” Unfortunately they had one of their flying monkeys declare to child protection that my acquaintance was a danger to herself and the boy, so they took her son away from her and placed him with dad and partner, who brainwashed him until he didn’t want to see her anymore.

He doesn't actually have ANY 'friends' of any kind apparently - that's been reported on many times over the years. He allegedly spends most if not all of his free time (and much of his 'work time' too apparently!) when he's not golfing on his phone, or watching TV. He does have a few 'buddies' though, doesn't he, people he considers 'worthy' of his respect - Putin, Kim Jong Un. He appears to be attracted to, well.... men 'just like HIM'. As happens with most extreme/overt Narcissists, they go through 'bromances' with persons who they see as 'powerful' (Narcissists admire power). But also as with most narcissists, after they go through the initial 'love bombing/idealisation' stage, they eventually become disillusioned with their 'bro' - and that's almost always because their 'bro', also a narcissist, doesn't quite reciprocate the admiration. Only ONE person can be the 'chosen one'! Narcissists are quite delusional though, so they often miss the signs at first that their new 'bro' is not only NOT reciprocating the love, but is also making fun of them. In ordinary life, when the narcissist figures this out it causes them severe 'narcissistic injury', and that fills them with 'narcissist rage' (which is EXTREME), and desires to 'get revenge'. So how are those Putin/Kim Jong Un bromances going to play out - scary to even contemplate
