Watching and listening intently to these two diametrically opposed personalities sit closely while discussing their side of politics that surrounded J6 actually brought tears to my eyes. Each intent on their own beliefs, yet sitting calmly together, CLOSELY, one leaning into the other... absolutely mesmerizing!! Complete FIRE on both their parts! There still exists Patriotism. Brought a true sense of pride watching and listening. No, THATS an interview of the Century right there. KUDOS, MADDOW!

I'm hoping a lot of us are on the same page on this. Lawrence O'Donnell had made the same point, that seeing them being so civil to each other despite passionately holding opposite beliefs and KNOWING that, reminded him of the good old days in Congress when political opponents could still come together to make common cause.

I have always disagreed with The Cheney father and daughter . However , I have come to very much appreciate her service on the committee to investigate trumps crimes . And her continued willingness to speak up about trump . I WILL CONTINUE TO VOTE BLUE . And continue to thank Liz Cheney , for the one political position I can share with her . Her clear , unvarnished opinion of trumps danger to our democracy, and therefore our country , and in turn , the world .

So well done Rachel!!! ❤fully agree with you, I could never vote Republican if I was a U.S. citizen, but I absolutely respect Ms. Cheney and her colleague Mr. Kinzinger for the grand work they did on the Jan. 6th committee and standing for truth and equal justice for all. It's ok to have different political views in a respectful way, it's madness to support lawmakers that stand for lies, corruption, criminality and extremism, violence and insurrection. Ms. Cheney has more integrity than the current full Republican party nowadays. I hope people like her get to create a new non criminal and corrupt Republican party that serves its voters.

Discussion, oddly enough it's done FREQUENTLY by people who disagree. Talking, LISTENING, and asking questions to clarify points. I realized people want screaming matches for the emotional drama, but those happen between people who are not mature enough to deal with constructive criticism. STOP 🛑 looking for "punches, winning at all costs". It's childish.

Conservatives like Liz Cheney are why I am still willing to talk politics with the conservatives in my life who haven't gone full MAGA. We can have serious, almost diametrically-opposed ideas on what is best for this country. However, an adherance to the ground rules of democracy is paramount for this country to work. Anti small-d democracy movements are fundamentally un-American, full stop.

Historic interview. A demonstration that two people, diametrically opposed politically, can have a civil discussion and accept the results of a majority decision. Hard to realize, a few years ago, that was the norm.
